Viral Video: Lover Sneaks Into Girlfriend's House At Night, Wakes Up To A Situation He Never Imagined

The video shows the girl placing a tilak on her lover's forehead as he applies sindoor to her hair but what catches the attention of many viewers is the groom's expression Viral clips on social media often range from bizarre pranks to heated public confrontations. But one recent video has left viewers both amused and stunned; not because of a fight or a dramatic revelation, but because a late-night romantic rendezvous turned into an unexpected wedding. The incident came to light through Instagram user Ranjeet Singh (@ranjeet__singh_60), who shared footage showing a young man allegedly sneaking into his girlfriend's house under the cover of darkness. According to the video, the boy, driven by eagerness to meet her, entered the home at midnight. But his plan fell apart when her family woke up and caught him inside. By morning, the matter had escalated beyond the household. The girl's relatives called in villagers, and in a scene reminiscent of rural social arbitration, a decision was made – the couple should be married immediately. The video shows the girl placing a tilak on the young man's forehead before he applies sindoor to her hair parting. What catches the attention of many viewers, however, is the groom's expression – not joy, but visible shock. Commenters have suggested he may have only intended to spend time with his girlfriend, not commit to marriage on the spot. Further intrigue came when a follow-up video emerged, showing the boy declaring he would stand by his new wife despite his family's refusal to accept the union. 'Wherever I live, I will keep her with me," he said in the clip. Reactions to this statement were sharply divided. 'The mother who gave birth is the one snatching the happiness of the son," wrote Seema Kumari, while another commenter argued, 'No one respects those who do not respect their parents." Some, like Vijay Kumar, took a more pragmatic view, saying, 'Having courage is not enough; settling down in life is a big thing." Whether viewed as a story of love defying opposition or a cautionary tale about midnight visits, the video has cemented its place as one of the latest viral sensations on Indian social media. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Ranjeet Singh, a resident of Ramban district in Jammu and Kashmir, was kidnapped on July 15 during an attack at a construction site in Niger's Dosso region. Two other Indian workers, Ganesh Karmali and Krishna Gupta, lost their lives in the attack. Their mortal remains have already been repatriated to India, as per MEA. Providing the latest update, Union Minister Jitendra Singh shared a letter from the MEA on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, "Latest update regarding Ranjit Singh from district Ramban, who had gone missing in Niger. Noida resident loses ₹2.89 crore in share market fraud

Noida: An 87-year-old retired professor was allegedly duped of ₹2.89 crore after a woman befriended him by sharing her pictures and lured him to invest in the share market from April to June 2025 in Sector 36, Noida, police said on Thursday. 'I was asked not to share information about the investment with anyone, including family members, as it may increase the chance of a data leak,' the FIR cited the victim as saying. (Representational image) Police said the victim, hailing from Rajasthan, in his complaint said, 'On April 1, I came in contact with a woman through a social media platform who introduced herself as the manager of a Kolkata-based wealth management company.' The FIR read, 'After a conversation about my health and paternal home, the woman shared her photographs. Later, she shared information about trading.' Later, another man introduced the victim to share market and advised him to invest to earn a 15 to 30 percent profit. 'I was asked not to share information about the investment with anyone, including family members, as it may increase the chance of a data leak,' the FIR added. Cyber Crime Branch Station House Officer (SHO), Ranjeet Singh said that from April 4, 2025, the victim transferred ₹5 lakh via Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) to the bank accounts provided by the suspects. 'Since then, the victim has transferred ₹2.89 crore to multiple bank accounts in 21 transactions till June 6,' added Singh. On demanding his share from the profit, the suspects in return demanded money for taxes, the SHO added. 'He was also threatened and mentally harassed for questioning them about his hard-earned money.' In a last resort, he finally approached the police and a case was registered under sections 318(2) (cheating) and 319(2) (cheating by personation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the IT Act at the Cybercrime Branch police station. Efforts are underway to recover his money, police added.

2 Indians killed, one missing in Niger: What is happening in the West African nation?

Two Indian migrant workers were killed in the West African country of Niger on Tuesday (July 15), and another was abducted after a terror attack on their worksite, officials said. One of those who died was Ganesh Karmali, 39, from Jharkhand's Bokaro district. An activist from Jharkhand who has been working on the repatriation of the bodies told The Indian Express that the other man had been identified only as Krishnan from a southern Indian state. The abducted worker has been identified as Ranjeet Singh, hailing from Jammu and Kashmir. 'The Chief Minister has expressed concern over the abduction of Ranjeet Singh, a resident of Ramban, in Niger. He urges the Hon'ble EAM @DrSJaishankar and #MEAIndia to urgently intervene to secure Ranjeet's safe and swift return,' a post on X by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's Office said on July 20. The Indian Embassy in Niger said the Mission, in the capital city of Niamey, was in touch with local authorities to repatriate the mortal remains and ensure the safe release of the abducted Indian. It also advised all Indians in Niger to maintain vigilance. How many Indians are known to be in the country, and what is the prevailing political situation there? We explain. According to the Union Ministry of External Affairs, around 150 Indians are currently in Niger. They are mostly engaged in the hospitality/service/business sectors. This presents a decline from 2023, when around 250 Indians were in the country. The Associated Press reported that foreigners are increasingly becoming targets of armed groups in Niger. Several have been kidnapped this year, including an Austrian woman who has lived in Niger as an aid worker for more than 20 years, a Swiss woman seized from her home in April and five Indian workers, also in April. In its modern history, Niger received independence from French colonial rule in 1960. For a majority of its post-independence era, it has seen single-party rule, military coups and limited space for the survival of democratic governments. Bazoum Mohamed's 2021 victory in the presidential election marked the country's first transition from one democratically elected president to another. But it was short-lived, and Niger again saw a military coup in 2023 led by General Abdourahmane Tchiani, who was officially sworn in as the president in March this year. He is supposed to serve for a transitional period of five years. Even before the recent political upheaval, the Sahel region (which Niger is a part of) was facing problems like climate change, poverty and terrorism. Lying to the south of the Sahara desert, it stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to the Red Sea, including countries such as Nigeria, Senegal and Chad. It is also among the youngest regions of the world, with about 64% of the population under the age of 25. In some cases, the rise of terrorism has been cited in many countries as a justification for coups. Niger's western neighbours, Burkina Faso and Mali, also saw coups in 2022 and 2020, respectively. The AP also cited the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project as noting that June was one of the country's deadliest months on record. Islamic State-backed fighters launched a major offensive across the Tillaberi and Dosso regions, the latter being where Indians were killed. More than 100 civilians were killed in the exchange of fire. What complicates the existing issues is the presence of international actors. In an article for Foreign Policy in 2020, Samuel Ramani, an Associate Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute think tank, wrote, 'Instead of taking constructive steps to address the array of challenges facing the Sahel, great powers and regional institutions are exacerbating the region's problems.' 'Due to their intense focus on geostrategic competition and willingness to equate authoritarianism with stability, great powers such as France, the United States, Russia, and China, have actually perpetuated conditions, such as corruption and fragile state institutions, that contribute to rising political violence in the Sahel,' he added. One example is the Russian Wagner Group, which has supplied mercenaries to the region. On March 23 last year, Malian and Wagner Group soldiers launched a five-day attack on a border town to 'root out Islamist militants, killing more than three hundred civilians', according to the Council on Foreign Relations. According to a BBC report, the regional bloc ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) also imposed 'crippling sanctions' on Niger after 2023, such as border closures and a no-fly zone for all commercial flights. However, in January, Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger formally left the grouping. Historically, India and Niger had limited exchanges in terms of trade, but that has changed in recent years. The volume of trade has grown from around $95 million in 2018-19 to $203 million in 2022-23, and while Indian exports composed a major share seven years ago, of late the balance of trade is in Niger's favour. The main items being exported from Niger to India are Gum Arabic, Resins and other Vegetable saps and extracts, semi-precious stones, Oil seeds (Sesame), misc. grains, goat skins. etc. India has also extended Lines of Credit to Niger, for the construction of infrastructure and community projects. In 2020, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar visited the country.

J&K CM, family urge Centre's help as Niger terrorists abduct Ramban man

J&K CM Omar Abdullah (File photo) JAMMU: J&K CM Omar Abdullah urged Sunday the external affairs ministry (MEA) to intervene urgently in securing the release of Ranjeet Singh, a resident of Ramban district, who was allegedly abducted by terrorists in Niger following an attack on July 15. Abdullah tagged external affairs minister S Jaishankar on X and called for Centre's intervention. Singh, employed as a senior safety officer with M/s Transrail Lighting Limited — a power transmission and distribution firm in Niger — lost contact with his family on July 15, the day terrorists struck the Dosso region, reportedly killing two Indian workers. His wife Sheela Devi, speaking from the family's remote village of Chakka Kundi in Ramban, said she learned about the abduction from one of her husband's friends in Niger after receiving vague responses from his company. 'I kept calling the company, but they said there was no network at the site. No mention of anything serious,' said the mother of three young children. Ranjeet's father Mohan Lal said: 'He was supposed to return in a month or two. We request the PM to help us. He has three small children,' Lal said. Social media users have amplified the family's appeal.
