SJ Suryahs directorial Killer first look poster unveiled
Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], July 20 (ANI): Actor SJ Suryah is set to don the director's cap after almost a decade with the film 'Killer'. The actor has shared the first look of his character from the film. In a post on his Instagram handle, SJ Suryah shared a poster featuring him holding a gun while standing next to a luxurious car. In the next poster, the actor was seen holding actress Preethi Asrani, who plays the lead heroine in the movie. As per the first look poster, SJ Suryah appears to be playing the role of a gangster who excels at handling firearms. Preethi Asrani is expected to play the love interest of SJ Suryah in the film. The movie is produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sree Gokulam Movies. The movie's music is composed by Oscar-winning musician AR Rahman. The makers have not yet revealed the details of the movie. The fans have been eagerly awaiting updates regarding the film. SJ Suryah's last directorial was Isai, which was released in 2015. The film marked Suryah's return to direction after a five-year hiatus since 2010, and also his debut as a music director. The movie also starred Sathyaraj and Sulagna Panigrahi in prominent roles. Meanwhile, SJ Suryah is also set to share screens with actor Ravi Mohan for the first time in their upcoming film 'Bro Code'. It will be directed by filmmaker Karthik Yogi, known for films like 'Dikkiloona' and 'Vadakkupatti Ramasamy'. Posting to his X handle, the director Karthik Yogi announced his new project, which is set to star two well-known actors, Ravi Mohan and SJ Suryah. Ravi Mohan files a lawsuit against a production house As per a report by News18, Ravi Mohan has alleged that he provided a call sheet for 80 days, but the company failed to begin production. This apparently led him to suffer a huge loss, leading to the lawsuit. The PS 1 actor alleged that he provided dates from January to March of 2025; during this time, he had to give up other movies owing to his contract with the production house. Moreover, the contract automatically expired after a period, which led him to take on new projects. However, the producers are said to have served a notice to Ravi, seeking a return on the advance of Rs 6 crore they once paid the actor. Interestingly, the defamation lawsuit has clearly stated that the actor is willing to return the advance payment, but the production house now retorts and says that Ravi Mohan breached their contract by working in Parasakthi. The Madras High Court has now ordered the production company to further respond by July 23, 2025. Ravi Mohan's work front Ravi Mohan was last seen in the lead role in the movie Kadhalikka Neramillai. Ravi Mohan sued for ₹6 crore, files countersuit on production house for wasting his call sheet
Tamil actor Ravi Mohan moved the Madras High Court seeking ₹9 crore compensation from the production house, Bobby Touch Gold Universal Private Limited, for not utilising his call sheet. According to a report by TNIE, this comes after the production house filed a suit asking him to return the advance amount of ₹6 crore they had given him. Ravi Mohan claims the production house wasted his call sheet this year. Ravi Mohan sued for ₹ 6 crore, files countersuit As per the report, Ravi moved the Madras HC to sue the production house for wasting his time over two films. The matter came to hearing before Justice Abdul Quddhose on Wednesday. Ravi claimed in court that both he and the production house agreed on dates for shooting the first of the two films they agreed upon. He blocked his schedule from 1 January 2025 for 80 continuous call sheets till 21 March. He claimed that he was forced to lose time due to a delay in production, so he is entitled to compensation. Ravi also asked the court to 'attach the property of the company' and 'to furnish a security deposit of ₹9 crore' till the suit is disposed of. The production house's claims On Tuesday, the judge had asked Ravi to file his response to a civil suit filed by the production house, which asked him to pay back the ₹6 crore advance allegedly paid to him. They had also sought an interim injunction restraining the actor from working on any film produced by a third party or by himself. The production house claimed that they had signed an agreement with Ravi for one of the two proposed films and paid him the advance in September 2024. They claim that he failed to honour the agreement because he wanted to produce his own film. Ravi last starred in the romantic drama Kadhalika Neramillai with Nithya Menen this year. He will soon be seen in Karathey Babu, Parasakthi, Genie and Thani Oruvan 2.

Ravi Mohan has filed a lawsuit seeking ₹9 crore in compensation for the loss he suffered, as he had signed a contract to act in two films, but the shooting did not start as scheduled. Ravi Mohan cites loss due to delayed shoot despite call sheet As per News 18, in the petition, Ravi Mohan alleged that despite being allotted a call sheet of 80 days from January to March 2025, no shooting of any kind had commenced, and that he had lost opportunities in other films due to this. He then stated that even though time was allotted from March to June, the contract automatically expired as the project did not progress, and that he therefore withdrew from the project. Seeks ban on film release and ₹9 crore compensation Furthermore, when the producer was notified, a notice was sent to return the advance payment of Rs. 6 crore. In this context, the petition also requests a ban on the sale and release of films produced by the company, including 'Chennai City Gangster'.
