Ray J Says Racketeering Charge Makes More Sense For Kardashians Than Diddy

Ray J is railing against the racketeering conspiracy charge Diddy is facing in his federal criminal trial ... he says a RICO charge against the Kardashians would be more believable. Diddy's longtime friend came to his defense on TMZ's new weekly series on Tubi, "TMZ Presents: United States V. Sean Combs: Inside the Diddy Trial" ... and Ray says he's having a hard time believing Diddy is guilty of racketeering. Ray J says he spent a lot of time around Diddy and a lot of the witnesses who are testifying ... and based on his experience, he doesn't see how the RICO charge is warranted. It's interesting, and conspiracy theorists will like this ... Ray J has a theory that someone is sending a message to Diddy here ... and he says the statement is being received loud and clear. Joe Tacopina also joined us on this week's episode, and he got into a heated debate with series regular Nancy Grace ... with the two sparring over the trial's racketeering elements, and throwing some personal jabs. Former Diddy assistant Capricorn Clark's testimony may help prosecutors close the loop on the RICO charge ... and Ray, Joe, Nancy, Harvey Levin, Mark Geragos, Ashleigh Banfield and Eboni K. Williams get into all that and more. Check out "TMZ Presents United States V. Sean Combs: Inside the Diddy Trial," available now for free on Tubi.

Ray J Speaks Out on Diddy's Ongoing Trial, Predicts He Will Get Out of Jail: ‘Free Diddy'

is ready to talk about for the first time since the rap mogul's trial began. In an interview with Piers Morgan, Ray J, 44, expressed his belief that his longtime friend will soon be able to walk out of jail as a free man. (Diddy, 55, has pleaded not guilty to all charges and denied all of the allegations against him.) 'I personally think it's gonna happen faster than a lot of people think, because I think we're all starting to see what this is, even if you're on the other side of it,' Ray J shared on the Tuesday, May 27, episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored. 'I mean, the justice system is the justice system. Where does this fit?... It's off. I don't like it and I want to be vocal about it.' In the first two weeks of Diddy's trial, the jury heard testimony from Cassie Ventura, Kid Cudi, Danity Kain's Dawn Richard and more witnesses as prosecutors presented their case against the rap mogul. (Some of the biggest revelations from their testimonies included new details of the video of Diddy physically assaulting Cassie, allegations that Diddy planned to harm Cudi and claims that Diddy and escorts would urinate in Cassie's mouth.) Cassie's Life Now After Alleged Diddy Abuse and Emotional Sex Trafficking Trial Testimony Diddy was arrested in September 2024 on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. When asked about the court proceedings, Ray J expressed his belief that Diddy should be free from jail. 'I honestly think that Diddy will get out, and I think … there's nothing here,' he claimed. 'I think they made their point. Whatever they were trying to make, your point is made. Now let Diddy out. Free Diddy!' As Diddy's trial entered its third week on Tuesday, May 27, multiple attorneys not affiliated with the case told NBC News that prosecutors have yet to prove that the music mogul is guilty of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, the two most serious charges brought against him. One lawyer, however, reminded courtroom watchers that it's a very long trial and all of the evidence doesn't come in through one witness. When asked about the ongoing trial — taking place at the Daniel Patrick Moynihan U.S. Courthouse in New York City — Ray J said, 'It's kind of becoming a circus.' 'With all the allegations and now with everybody explaining what's happening in the bedroom, I mean, every day,' he said. 'It just sounds crazier and crazier and freakier and weirder, right?' One allegation that has been explored in the initial weeks of testimony are Diddy's alleged 'freak offs.' Prosecutors have described freak offs as 'elaborate and produced sex performances' that Diddy allegedly orchestrated and coerced others to participate in. According to Ray J, who said he attended 'a lot of parties with Diddy,' there was never a 'freak off.' 'We've never used that term whenever we went to a Diddy party,' he told Morgan, 60. 'A Diddy party was where most people couldn't get in. And the top of the top, the A-listers are out on the scene, and if you don't have the proper invitation, or if you're not one of the 'Who's who's of Hollywood', it's impossible to get in whatever door they're talking about the freaky door. I never got an invitation. Never knew it existed. And I feel like in my world that I'm in, and I like to party and have fun, at least I would have got an invitation.' Cassie Recalls Diddy Hotel Assault in Day 2 of Her Testimony: Biggest Takeaways Ray J said he last spoke to Diddy a week and a half before 'it all went down,' seemingly referring to the rapper's arrest. Although the trial is expected to last until late June or the beginning of July, Ray J said all the stories being presented make him think 'it's the world against Diddy.' 'I feel for him, you know what I mean? And I'm actually worried about him in this state now, because it's a dangerous world, and we're just seeing a lot of things unfold and power being played, and it's a circus act,' Ray J claimed. 'How many more stories do we got to hear? I mean, this is some really freaky stuff that I think should be kept private, and it's just starting to get freakier and dirtier.' Ray J Predicts Diddy Will Get Out for Prison for This Wild Reason ... But Does He Have a Point?

Adding to the list of celebrities defending Sean 'Diddy' Combs amid his federal trial, Ray J had some thoughts about how the justice system is handling Diddy's drama. And man, was it a lot.... Ray J—real name William Ray Norwood Jr.— appeared on 'Piers Morgan Uncensored' to talk about why he believes the case against Diddy is starting to get outrageous. The disgraced music mogul is fighting for his life against racketeering and human trafficking charges, but according to Ray J, we're starting to lose the plot. 'I think it's kind of becoming a circus, and with all the allegations, and now with everybody explaining what's happening in the bedroom... It just sounds crazier and crazier and freakier and weirder,' Ray Jbegan. The singer even set his sights on Combs' ex-girlfriend Cassandra 'Cassie' Ventura, who alleged Diddy blew up rapper Kid Cudi's car as a scare tactic. 'With Kid Cudi going on and saying everything that happened, but then ended up saying, 'Cassie played both of us'... Where are we trying to go?' According to Ray J, there's not enough evidence to find Diddy guilty of his current charges. 'It's entertaining, for sure... but at the end of it all, it's like, 'This is what Diddy is being charged for, and this is what he possibly might serve a lot of jail time for?' I don't understand it,' he continued. To him, Diddy's case has become about optics and not the real evidence to support to government's racketeering case against him. The public was horrified to hear how Combs allegedly raped and repeatedly beat Cassie and how he alleged conspired to kill Kid Cudi— including by kidnapping his own assistant— but Ray J and other Combs' supporters argue that still doesn't connect him to a criminal enterprise. And in order for Combs to be found guilty, that's exactly what prosecutors need to prove. Although Ray J has not been named in connection with Diddy's criminal case, he maintains that the two businessmen have a close relationship. In fact, Ray J told Morgan he sees the Bad Boy founder as a mentor. 'This is word to my mom and kids, he's always inspired me to be great,' Ray J told Morgan. In the end, Ray J said he has faith that Diddy will walk away with his freedom. 'I honestly think that Diddy will get out... I think they made their point. Whatever they were trying to make, your point is made,' he continued. 'Now let Diddy out. Free Diddy!' Ray J is the latest entertainer to speak out in favor of the 'Coming Home' rapper. He joins folks like Kanye West, Amber Rose and Boosie Badazz— all of whom have had their own share of controversies over the years. For the latest news, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Celebrities share Diddy trial outcome predictions after 'explosive' testimony

With Sean 'Diddy' Combs' blockbuster trial underway, some celebrities have shared their predictions of what the disgraced rapper's future could look like. The 55-year-old faces several charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. If convicted, he could be sentenced to life behind bars. The music mogul's staggering downfall began when his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura filed a bombshell lawsuit in 2023 detailing horrific claims of sexual abuse and violence at the hands of her ex-partner. The lawsuit was settled for $20 million just a day after it was filed, but it was too late for Diddy 's reputation as the rapper was then hit with dozens of lawsuits detailing similar claims. Diddy denies all allegations against him. His lawyers admit he's a woman beater - although he does not face domestic abuse charges - but that he is not guilty of sex trafficking or racketeering. Following three weeks of 'explosive' testimonies from a number of witnesses, and name-drops of several celebrities, many big names, including R&B singer Ray J, former Death Row Records producer Suge Knight and Wendy William s have spoken out about what they think will happen to Diddy once the trial ends. Here is a full list of A-listers who have shared their thoughts on Diddy's legal drama. Ray J The R&B singer, who famously dated Kim Kardashian, broke his silence over Diddy, his former mentor, on a recent episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored. During the shock interview, the 44-year-old opened up about his views on how the now disgraced music mogul's case is unfolding and his notorious 'freak off' parties. 'I think it's kind of becoming a circus, and with all the allegations and now with everybody explaining what's happening in the bedroom, I mean, every day. It just sounds crazier and crazier and freakier and weirder, right?' he said. He continued: 'I'm trying to understand, with all this being said, like with Kid Cudi going on and saying everything that happened, but then ended up saying, 'Cassie played both of us'... Where are we trying to go? Are we just trying to tell all of these crazy stories, and then that equals out to sex-trafficking?' Ray J went on to say that he felt the claims against Diddy were 'starting to become outrageous.' 'It's a RICO [Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act] case. It's really only Diddy and maybe one other person, I'm just starting to feel uncomfortable, and I'm starting to feel weird about this whole thing,' he added. While referring to some of the graphic evidence given in open court against Diddy, Ray J said it felt like they are 'in this vortex of this dominatrix story about all of these different characters that are coming out and the names and the nicknames.' 'I mean it's intense. It's entertaining, for sure, and it's definitely press worthy. But at the end of it all, it's like, "This is what Diddy is being charged for, and this is what he possibly might serve a lot of jail time for?" 'I don't understand it, and I really want to know where this is all going to go, and where does this lead?' he noted. 'It's weird. It's freaky… I mean, it feels like they're just trying to paint these pictures of Diddy,' he said. Ray J also insisted that the portrayal of Diddy, in court and on the news, is not someone he is familiar with or recognizes. 'And I was around Diddy all the way, pretty much, up until the arrest. And all I got from that, when I hung out with Diddy and - this is word to my mom and kids - he's always inspired me to be great,' he said. Suge Knight The former record producer and NFL player, who is currently serving a 28-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter, has been extremely vocal about Diddy's case. On Tuesday, Knight spoke to News Nation's Chris Cuomo from the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego, California to discuss his thoughts about his rival. Following Diddy's former assistant Capricorn Clark taking the stand earlier in the day, Knight said: 'I say this all the time, Puffy and I are not friends. But, Puffy should definitely walk.' He went on to tell Cuomo that he knew Clark, and that allegedly did not sit too well with Diddy. While on the stand, Clark testified that Diddy threatened her life after he discovered she previously worked for Knight. Still, Knight told the outlet: 'I don't think this is a case where Puffy should be going to prison.' 'When it's all said and done, how could every person who's involved with Puffy not [be] on the stand? At some point, the law gotta be blind,' he added. Wendy Williams Former talk show host Wendy Williams has also been very outspoken about Diddy over the years. Now with his trial underway, the 60-year-old has remained true to her statements, and even made a comeback in January by calling into The Breakfast Club podcast, saying that Diddy was 'done' and going to prison for the rest of his life. 'Diddy will go to prison for life people, you don't know things that I know about Diddy back in the day,' she continued. 'It is about time people, it is about time, Diddy done!' In September, Williams was praised online by fans who claimed that the opinionated talk show host had been warning the world of Diddy's alleged crimes for years. Williams had been critical of the music mogul during her career as a radio and television host, and fans argued that she had been one of the few stars to call out his alleged antics 'for decades.' Gene Deal Diddy's former bodyguard Gene Deal shared a chilling prediction on what he thinks will happen to the musician. In a recent interview with The Art of Dialogue, Deal said he believes the pressure from hearing hours of testimony about his 'dirty deeds with Cassie' will 'break' Diddy. 'He can't take sitting right there and hearing all of his dirty deeds with Cassie,' he claimed. Deal is seen with Diddy in an undated picture 'He's hearing all of his deeds in front of him and he ain't high. He ain't drunk... He gone break bruh. I'm telling you. 'He'll end up asking his defense team to see if y'all can still get me that deal,' he continued. Faizon Love The actor spoke out about Diddy just two days after he was arrested in New York City. The Elf star took to social media saying he 'didn't know there was a limit on baby oil.' 'I'm confused. The Cassie thing I understand - they should definitely lock this n**** up, putting his hands on a young lady. 'But I don't understand the other sh**. Can y'all help me? When has being nasty been a federal crime? And I'm glad they told me, I didn't know there was a limit on baby oil,' Love added. Federal agents seized more than 100 bottles of baby oil from Diddy's residence after raiding his home. Lil Boosie On the same day as Love, rapper Lil Boosie took to X in a long rant about Diddy's arrest and the charges against him. 'I feel DIDDY N JAIL FOR BASICALLY DOING WHAT EVERY OTHER FAMOUS ENTERTAINER HAS DONE,' the performer, who also goes by Boosie BadAzz, said. '"FLEW B***** OUT FOR 3 SOMES." HE JUST FREAKIER!! WE ACTUALLY GO CALL WOMEN PROSTITUTES WHO FLY N WILLINGLY TO BE WITH THEY PARTNERS FOR SEX? IF THATS THE CASE IF U BEEN FLEWED [sic] OUT N HAD SEX YOU SHOULD BE LABELED A PROSTITUTE. IF THATS THE CASE THATS 80% OF THE WOMEN READING THIS,' he wrote. He went on to admit that when he saw the video of Diddy beating up Cassie in a hotel he 'was pissed,' adding that Diddy 'really got a problem.' 'BUT FACING 'LIFE N PRISON" FOR DOING BASICALLY WHAT SO MANY OTHER ENTERTAINERS HAS DONE #idisagree,' Boosie added.
