Singer's 911 Carrera Coupé readies for US showcase
The new Porsche 911 Carrera Coupé Reimagined by Singer will be on show at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, in Monterey, California, on August 15. First seen at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, this restomod is based on a fully restored 964 chassis strengthened with composite and steel reinforcement by Red Bull Advanced Technologies to improve handling, braking and refinement. Singer's carbon fibre bodywork pays tribute to the wide-body, Turbo-look 911 3.2 Carrera of the 1980s. A deep front spoiler, rear fender intakes and a choice of fixed 'whale tail' or speed-activated rear wing enhance cooling and stability. Optional pop-up auxiliary driving lights fold flush into the bonnet. Power comes from a Cosworth-developed, naturally aspirated 4.0 l air-cooled flat-six with four valves per cylinder, water-cooled heads, variable valve timing, an electric fan and titanium exhaust. Producing 313kW and revving past 8,000rpm, it's paired with a six-speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels. Five drive modes adjust traction and stability control settings. Image: Supplied Suspension from Singer's turbocharged models, four-way adjustable dampers with electronic control and an integrated nose-lift system ensure compliant, sporty handling. Optional carbon-ceramic brakes hide behind 18" Fuchs-style centre-lock wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tyres. Inside, customers can choose from an extensive palette of paints, leathers and materials. Hand-built gauges and corduroy-trimmed sport seats are standard, with track seats and a raised gear shifter optional. Modern comforts include air-conditioning, satnav and Apple CarPlay.

Daredevil Scots mountainbiker jumps over oncoming Formula One car in 'scariest' feat
Kriss Kyle grabbed his "once in a lifetime opportunity" to jump the Red Bull Racing F1 car being drive by David Coulthard. A daredevil Scots mountainbiker has become the first athlete in history to successfully jump over an oncoming Formula One car. Red Bull athlete Kriss Kyle grabbed his 'once in a lifetime opportunity' to jump Sebastian Vettel's 2011 title winning Oracle Red Bull Racing F1 car. The jump was successfully completed using a custom-built kicker that designed by Red Bull Advanced Technologies, the high-performance engineering arm of Red Bull Technology Group. The kicker was a bespoke design; the team needed Kriss – from Stranraer – to have a solid platform to lift from to jump over the car as well as something lightweight so the car could move out of the way. A lot of design work went into this: from the materials, height, shape and size to creating a crumple zone at the front, so as not to damage the car. More than seven months of preparation was put into the feat which Kriss successfully achieved at the Goodwood circuit in Sussex. And the F1 car was driven by Kriss' fellow Scot, retired grand prix driver David Coulthard from Twynholm. Kriss, who has been on a BMX since the age of 10, said: 'It was one of the scariest things that I have ever done! Hearing and seeing the car come hurtling towards me was crazy but I just had to clear my mind and concentrate on what I needed to do to make it over. 'It has been a dream come true to achieve this feat.' Heritage chief mechanic, Greg Borrill, said: 'We like doing crazy things and driving a BMX bike at an F1 car was a challenge we thought we were up to. We put the wheels in motion with Red Bull Advanced Technologies and Kriss and needed to make sure that safety was paramount. 'A lot of design work by Red Bull Advanced Technologies went into creating a bespoke kicker that Kriss could use to jump over the car and would enable the car to get out of the way safely. Overall, the stunt was nailed and it was amazing to see'. d Kriss' latest feat follows on from the hugely successful Don't Look Down video, where he rode a skatepark suspended underneath a hot air balloon.

Singer Wows The Goodwood Crowds With Its Latest 911 Restomod

You may unsubscribe from email communication at anytime. 10 Years of Goodwood Exhibits Singer's first appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed was back in 2015, and in 2025, the company has reached the milestone of restoring and delivering 500 Classic, Classic Turbo, or DLS vehicles since its founding. As part of this year's extravaganza, the company is presenting two Porsche 911 Carrera Coupes reimagined by Singer, one of which will take to the famous Goodwood Hillclimb, while the other will be on display outside the Stable Yard, giving visitors to the event a taste of its soundtrack and a close-up look at all the details, which, as always, are immaculate. Just 100 will be made, but they won't be done quickly. 0:07 / 0:09 2025 Audi S3: 4 reasons to love it, 2 reasons to think twice Watch More 964 Becomes Something More With Cosworth The reimaginings start with Singer's usual foundation, the 964-generation Porsche 911, which is fully disassembled and stripped until the steel chassis is exposed. This is meticulously assessed, cleaned, and prepared before chassis strengthening – developed with Red Bull Advanced Technologies – is applied to enhance rigidity, thereby allowing the chassis to make the most of its new engine, which is derived, in part, from that of the DLS program. The body is then widened to mimic the swollen stance of the original 930 Porsche 911 Turbo. In collaboration with Cosworth, the 911's flat-six has been significantly enhanced, even over previous similar reimaginings. For the first time, a Singer gets variable valve timing and water-cooled cylinder heads with air-cooled cylinders. There's also an electric fan that owes some of its existence to the DLS Turbo Study – necessary when the 4.0-liter engine delivers 420 horsepower and revs to over 8,000 rpm, which can be heard through a new titanium exhaust system. This is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, and Singer will gladly fit an exposed shift mechanism to highlight the detail of this restomod's beauty. Singer Also Takes Leather To New Levels Although the mechanical elements are the most attractive to the gearhead, Singer hasn't stayed stagnant when it comes to the cabin either, displaying leatherwork on both these reimaginations that features stitched and burnished seams, which requires hand-painting after edge sanding and takes 400 hours per car. The first car, finished in Celeste Passalacqua, features Mars Pink elements of velvet corduroy cloth, while the Giallo Segnale example gets a special Interferenza cloth in black. For a company only founded in 2009, that's a remarkable balance to manage with such poise, but Singer pulls it off once again. We can't wait to see what the next decade of Goodwood exhibits will bring. About the Author Sebastian Cenizo View Profile
