Xiaomi Could Bring Satellite SMS Feature With New Redmi Note Phone But Not In India
Last Updated: Redmi Note series could be getting a major upgrade from Xiaomi when it launches this year but its support could be limited. Xiaomi is tipped to bring satellite tech to one of the upcoming Redmi Note phones but its availability could be limited to select regions. Apple introduced the satellite SMS feature with the iPhone 14 model in the US and since then we have seen more Android brands support the technology via different partners. Xiaomi could become the latest in this list with the Redmi Note 15 series getting the upgrade. The details coming from China suggest the Redmi Note 15 Pro model and its highest variant could get satellite compatibility. Redmi Note For Satellite Upgrade: What We Know A tipster named Wylab shared the details about the upcoming Redmi Note 15 Pro+ model that is going to support the satellite-based SMS feature with the help of Baidu's network in China. If Xiaomi does manage to make this tool official, we could finally get more affordable phones with the premium satellite feature. Globalstar and Starlink are the other satellite service providers for mobile devices, who help Apple and T-Mobile cater to their customers, respectively. Satellite tech has shown its worth in different ways. People usually getting stranded in remote and no-network areas have found the feature reliable, allowing them to connect with the emergency services. If the Redmi Note phone does get the feature, we expect Xiaomi to keep it limited to select regions and possibly make it a China-exclusive feature because of the service provider. The company was also said to be looking at ending its partnership with Leica for the camera system but Xiaomi refuted those rumours and assured that both the brands will continue to work in the future and develop new-gen products that reflect their focus on innovation and quality. In the meanwhile, Redmi is planning to launch a new mid-range phone in India called the Redmi 15 5G that promises to pack a 7,000mAh battery into a sleek device. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Redmi Note 15 Pro 4G gets certified on its way to release
Redmi's upcoming Note 15 line is expected to comprise a lot of models, and there will still be 4G-only variants of some of them, in case you've been wondering. At least the Redmi Note 15 Pro is getting a 4G-only iteration, as revealed today through its EEC certification. If the Pro model gets a 4G-only option, we assume the lower-end choices will too. Based on an earlier rumor, the Redmi Note 15 Pro 4G is expected to be sold in Türkiye, Indonesia, and Russia. It will have the model number 25100RA69G. Unfortunately, none of its specs have been revealed through this particular certification process. The Redmi Note 14 family went official in China last September, and then made its global debut in January. It's unclear if Redmi will keep a similar launch timeframe this time around, but we'll definitely let you know when we find out more. Source | Via

Xiaomi Redmi 15 official-looking renders surface, colors revealed
With the Redmi Note 15 series out and about, it's time for Xiaomi to release its ultra-budget models, the Redmi 15, 15C and possibly the 15R, if we go by last year's Redmi 14 lineup. However, by the looks of it, the standard Redmi 15 won't miss the party this time around (there was no vanilla Redmi 14) as we already have a good idea of what the phone might bring to the table. Shortly after this rather revealing leak, a tipster on X shared some images of what appear to be official renders of the Redmi 15. We've got a frontal image showing maybe thinner bezels than before, compared to the Redmi 13, although it's a bit hard to tell from renders alone. Alleged Redmi 15 colors We also have three images depicting the Redmi 15 in three colors - Black, Purple and some sort of Silver-ish, Gold-ish paint job. The back design seems to align with the current Redmi Note 15 lineup, but more importantly, the pictures show three camera sensors on the back. If we have to guess, the two auxiliary shooters will likely be ultrawide and macro. The Redmi 13 from last year only had one main 108MP camera and a 2MP macro shooter. Going by the previous leak, the Redmi 15 will offer a substantial upgrade over its predecessor with upgrades in the display, battery, chipset and camera departments. Source
