Unexploded bomb found during flood clean-up in Dien Bien, Vietnam

DIEN BIEN, (Vietnam): Troops from Regiment 82, Division 355 (Military Zone 2) discovered an unexploded MK117 bomb during flood recovery efforts in Pa Vat 2 Hamlet, Muong Luan Commune, the northern mountainous province of Dien Bien Province, on Monday (Aug 4).
The 350kg US-made bomb, found near Pa Vat Bridge, still had an active fuse.
The area was immediately secured, and the Dien Bien Military Command dispatched an engineering unit to safely remove it from the residential zone.
The bomb was transported to Depot K79 for safe disposal. - Vietnam News/ANN
