Tipton County man allegedly assaults mother
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Tipton County man is accused of assaulting his mom on Saturday, according to the Tipton County Sheriff's Office. Dylan Petrizzo, 27, of Drummonds, Tennessee, was charged with Aggravated Domestic Assault with injury. He is being held under a $500,000 bond. His court date has been scheduled for June 10. The woman received medical attention from Emergency Medical Services, and she was transported to Regional One Medical Center. West, TN drug task force agent injured in on-duty crash Deputies say the woman was believed to have been beaten, and they noted the inside of her vehicle, which was nearby, was covered in blood. When deputies followed up on their investigation, at a resident in the 11000 block of Hwy. 59 West, where they found signs of an altercation, and they located Petrizzo in a wood line near the residence. Driver runs over repo-man's head
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A tow driver is recovering after a driver ran over his head while he was trying to hook up a car that was being repossessed. It happened just before 8 a.m. Wednesday at the University Gardens Manor Apartments off University Street in North Memphis. Police said when they arrived at the apartment complex, the tow driver told them he was in the process of repossessing a red 2011 Ford Focus when a man jumped in the car and backed over his head and arm. The victim posted a video of the incident on his Facebook page, which has been viewed over a million times. The victim also posted pictures of the injuries to his head and face. As the tow truck driver reaches under the car to hook up the Ford Focus, the car backs up over his head. The driver does not get out of the car. He continues maneuvering his way out of the parking spot and is seen driving away. You can also see a woman standing near the vehicle. The tow truck driver said while he was under the car, he heard the female yell, 'Hurry up!' The woman was not there when police arrived. Warrant issued for suspect in deadly downtown shooting that injured rapper; $6k reward offered Officers said the victim had abrasions on his head, a large black mark on the front of his sweatshirt, and complained of arm pain. They said the victim was having trouble staying awake before he was transported to the Regional One Medical Center. He is expected to be okay. Another woman at the apartment complex told police that she sold the suspect the Ford Focus, but he was not making payments, so she contacted the victim to come repossess the car. 15-year-old shot Sunday cited for curfew violation
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are looking for at least three people in a white Nissan Altima who shot at two teenagers early Sunday morning in Raleigh. The victims, 17 and 15, said they were walking away from a house in the 4700 block of Bluff Wood Cove when someone in the Altima opened fire. They said before the shots were fired, someone got out of the car and asked what they were doing on their block. The 15-year-old said he didn't realize he had been hit until he got to the next street and called his mother. The 17-year-old was not hurt. The wounded teen was taken to the Regional One Medical Center in critical condition. Officers issued a juvenile summons to both teenagers for a curfew violation. Tami Sawyer hires civil rights attorney Ben Crump after being detained by MPD
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shelby County General Sessions Court Clerk Tami Sawyer has hired well-known civil rights attorney Ben Crump after being detained by Memphis police during a disturbance Tuesday at the Crosstown Concourse. Video from inside Global Cafe sparked melee at Crosstown Tuesday, police were called to the Global Cafe after a woman in the restaurant went live on Facebook and said she was being denied service and was being asked to leave. A number of people who saw the post showed up, and when officers arrived on the scene, a large fight broke out. Four people, including Sawyer, were detained. Sawyer was later released. One officer was injured and taken to the Regional One Medical Center in non-critical condition. Suspects accused of assaulting officers at Crosstown appear in court On her Instagram page Thursday, she issued the following statement: 'At this time, I have no comment on the actions of the Memphis Police Department against me and several others outside Crosstown Concourse. I am focused on healing from my injuries and have retained Attorney Ben Crump as legal counsel. In the meantime, I remain committed to serving the people of Shelby County and will continue executing my duties as General Sessions Court Clerk with the same dedication I have shown since my first day in office. I appreciate the support I have received and will provide further updates as appropriate.' Ben Crump has been involved in several high-profile civil rights cases across the country. He is currently representing the family members of Tyre Nichols in a $550 million civil lawsuit against the city of Memphis in the death of Nichols. The case is set to go to trial in July of 2026.
