Telangana CM Revanth Reddy seeks faster approvals for semiconductor projects

HYDERABAD: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy has urged Union minister for information and technology Ashwini Vaishnaw to fast-track approvals for semiconductor projects proposed in Telangana. During a meeting with the Union minister at Rail Bhavan on Thursday, the CM, accompanied by IT minister D Sridhar Babu and water resources minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, highlighted Telangana's robust infrastructure innovation-friendly ecosystem and world-class research and development (R&D) centres. He said these strengths make Telangana an ideal location for the proposed Advanced System in Package Technologies (ASIP) project and the Micro LED Display Fab project by Crystal Matrix. In the meeting, Revanth reiterated Telangana's request for the establishment of a Hi-Tech Electronics Park at Mucherla in Ranga Reddy district under the EMC 2.0 scheme. He also sought approval for a new electronic manufacturing park near the Regional Ring Road. The union minister responded positively to both requests. He also sought a railway link from Hyderabad Dry Port to Bandar Port, emphasising its potential to enhance exports of pharmaceuticals, electronic equipment, and food processing products. He also requested the establishment of the Kazipet railway division to improve railway operations in Telangana, ensuring passenger safety and faster services. Further, he appealed for approval of several new railway lines to support connectivity, industrial development, and agricultural trade, especially in underdeveloped regions. The proposed routes include Vikarabad-Krishna (122 km, estimated cost 2,677 crore), Kalwakurthy-Macherla (100 km, estimated cost 2,000 crore), Dornakal-Gadwal (296 km, estimated cost 6,512 crore), and Dornakal-Miryalguda (97 km, estimated cost 2,184 crore), all of which would be funded entirely by the Railways.

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday requested Union Minister for IT and Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw to expeditiously approve the semiconductor projects in Telangana. He also urged the Union minister to approve the proposed Advanced System in Package Technologies (ASIP) project and Micro LED Display Fab Project Crystal Matrix as Telangana is already equipped with world-class infrastructure and has a conducive environment for innovations, state-of-the-art, world-class research and development centres. The chief minister, accompanied by IT & Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu and Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, met Ashwini Vaishnaw at Rail Bhavan in Delhi. During the meeting, the CM brought Telangana's request for the establishment of a high-tech electronics park at Mucherla in Rangareddy district under the EMC 2.0 scheme to the Union minister's notice and urged him to set up a new electronic manufacturing park near the Regional Ring Road (RRR). Meanwhile, appealing to the Railway minister to give permission for new projects to increase railway connectivity in Telangana, the CM said that the Regional Ring Rail project has been proposed parallel to the Regional Ring Road. Since the Railway Board has already given permission for the final location survey, he sought approvals for the `8,000 crore Regional Ring Rail project. The CM briefed the Union minister on the benefits of the Regional Ring Rail, which will increase connectivity between rural and urban areas and reduce traffic congestion at major stations in Hyderabad city. The CM brought to the attention of the union minister that this route will help in the export of medicines, electronic devices and food processing products. Appealing to the union minister to set up a Kazipet Railway Division to manage railway operations in the state more efficiently, the CM said that the Kazipet Railway Division should be set up to provide safe and fast services to the passengers. The Chief Minister also urged the Railway Minister to sanction new railway lines for the development of backward areas in Telangana for connectivity of various areas and industrial and agricultural exports and imports. As part of this, the CM requested the Union Minister to sanction Vikarabad-Krishna (122 km- estimated cost Rs. 2,677 crore, Kalwakurthy-Macherla (100 km- estimated cost Rs. 2,000 crore, Dornakal-Gadwala (296 km- estimated cost Rs. 6,512 crore), Dornakal-Miryalguda (97 km- estimated cost Rs. 2,184 crore) routes and bear the entire cost of the new projects by the Railways.

Accompanied by IT Minister Sridhar Babu and Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, he met the Union Minister in New Delhi on Thursday and reiterated demand for Kazipet Railway Division and also new railway lines in the backward areas of State with total funding from the Railways. He said the Regional Ring Rail project, which will run parallel to Hyderabad's Regional Ring Road, would enhance rural-urban connectivity, reduce congestion in Hyderabad's main railway stations, and boost employment and economic development. The Chief Minister also appealed for a dedicated railway line connecting Hyderabad Dry Port to Bandar Port, given its potential to streamline exports of pharmaceuticals, electronics, and food processing products from Telangana. The specific projects proposed include: Vikarabad-Krishna (122 km) at an estimated cost of ₹ 2,677 crore, Kalwakurti-Macharla (100 km) at an estimated cost of ₹2,000 crore, Dornakal-Gadwala (296 km) at a cost of ₹ 6,512 crore and Dornakal-Miryalguda (97 km) at a cost of ₹2,184 crore. During the meeting, the Chief Minister sought immediate approvals for semiconductor manufacturing projects and urged the Union Minister to expedite approvals for the Advanced System in Package Technologies (ASIP) project and the Micro LED Display Fab Project Crystal Matrix. Other requests included the establishment of a high-tech electronics manufacturing park at Muchcherla, Rangareddy district, under the EMC 2.0 scheme, and a proposal for an electronics manufacturing park near the RRR to strengthen the electronics ecosystem. MPs Porika Balaram Nayak, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Kunduru Raghuveer Reddy, Ramasahayam Raghuram Reddy, Suresh Shetkar were present along with senior officials.
