Vols have a 'pass-first point guard' in Troy Henderson

2025 point guard prospect Troy Henderson signed with Tennessee on Wednesday. He committed to the Vols on March 25. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound guard is from John Marshall High School in Richmond, Virginia. Advertisement Following Henderson signing with the Vols, Tennessee head coach Rick Barneshompson boxing discussed his roster addition. "Our staff is excited for Troy and his family to join the Tennessee basketball program," Barnes said. "He is a pass-first point guard with a great deal of toughness, both physically and mentally. Troy can really facilitate and is a three-level scorer with range on his jumper. He possesses a lot of the leadership qualities we look for in a point guard, which will help him at this level. Troy comes from a winning tradition in both high school and AAU ball, and has received excellent coaching throughout his life." Henderson compiled a 104-6 record during his four-year high school career. He averaged 13.7 points, 6.0 assists 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game as a senior. Henderson also earned Virginia High School League all-state honors, was a two-time player of the year and a three-time state champion. Follow Vols Wire on Facebook and X.
