Education Minister Karami condemns Israeli strike Near Mansouri school, urges protection of educational institutions
Education Minister Rima Karami condemned the Israeli strike that targeted a motorcycle near the public school in Mansouri, in the Tyre district of South Lebanon, which caused injuries in the area. The Directorate of Basic Education at the ministry coordinated with the regional education office, issued instructions to close the school, and oversaw the process of handing students over to their families. Minister Karami contacted the school principal and inquired about the safety of the students, teachers, and administrative staff following what she described as a brutal attack. She called on the United Nations and influential countries around the world to "pressure Israel to stop its brutal assaults on innocent civilians and to spare schools and educational institutions from attacks that do not distinguish between a school, a street, or a home."

Nine injured including children in Israeli drone strike on Mansouri
An Israeli drone targeted on Tuesday morning a motorcycle in south Lebanon near a school in Mansouri in the Tyre district, injuring nine people, three of them critically. The Health Ministry said nine people were injured in the strike on the al-Mansouri-Majdal Zoun road, including two children, adding that three of the injured were in critical condition. Minister of Education Rima Karami condemned the strike and called for pressure on Israel to stop its attacks on civilians. The Israeli army meanwhile said it targeted and killed a Hezbollah member in Mansouri. On Monday, one person was killed in the southern border town of Houla and three others were wounded by Israeli attacks on multiple locations across southern Lebanon. On Sunday, two people, including a Lebanese soldier, were wounded in an Israeli strike. Israel has continued to launch strikes on Lebanon despite the November 27 truce that sought to halt more than a year of hostilities with Hezbollah including two months of full-blown war. Under the terms of the ceasefire deal, the only armed bodies in southern Lebanon are meant to be U.N. peacekeepers and Lebanon's army, though Israel has retained its forces in five areas it has declared strategic.
