Not every Bollywood debut rides on a blockbuster. For Vatsal Sheth, the film that made him a household name was a surprise; it tanked at the box office but shot him to fame. Born and raised in Mumbai, Vatsal first faced the camera as a teenager in Just Mohabbat (1996), a TV show that ran until 2000. But acting was never the plan — he had his sights set on becoming a software engineer. So, how did he end up in acting? In an interview, Vatsal recalled how a friend's mother casually suggested he audition for a TV role. That advice became the pivot point of his life. Soon after, Just Mohabbat gave him visibility, and in 2004, he debuted in Bollywood with Tarzan: The Wonder Car opposite Ayesha Takia, playing Ajay Devgn's on-screen son. The film saw him as Raj Chaudhary, a young man emotionally attached to a special car. Viewers loved his chemistry with Ayesha, and overnight, Vatsal was a star — despite the film's commercial failure. Career beyond the big screen Post-Tarzan, his films like Nanhe Jaisalmer, Heroes, and Paying Guests failed to make a mark. Vatsal shifted back to television, earning acclaim for Ek Hasina Thi and Rishton Ka Saudagar – Baazigar. In 2023, he made a cinematic return in Adipurush, playing Indrajit, drawing fresh attention. A love story from the sets While shooting Rishton Ka Saudagar – Baazigar, he met actress Ishita Dutta. Their friendship sparked after a small on-set incident, Ishita's saree got stuck in a table fan, and Vatsal helped untangle it. From there, the bond grew into love. On 28 November 2017, they married quietly at ISKCON Temple, Mumbai, in the presence of close friends, including Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Tanushree Dutta, and Tanishaa Mukerji. Family life and new beginnings In 2023, the couple welcomed their son, Vayu. Two years later, in 2025, their daughter, Veda, was born. Social media often features the family's candid moments. Interestingly, Ishita is the younger sister of Aashiq Banaya Aapne actress Tanushree Dutta — and she once played Ajay Devgn's on-screen daughter in Drishyam.

Actor Ishita Dutta hospitalised with son weeks after birth of second child
Actor Ishita Dutta has been admitted to the hospital along with her two-year-old son, Vaayu, only a couple of months after giving birth to her second child. She informed fans about the same with a picture from the hospital. On July 30, the 'Drishyam' actor shared a photo on her Instagram story showing both herself and little Vaayu receiving IV fluids. While their faces weren't visible in the post, it gave a glimpse into the difficult time they've recently she didn't go into detail about the cause of their hospitalisation, Dutta did mention that being unwell had resulted in noticeable weight loss. 'It's been a really tough month At a time when I should have been with my newborn, I was instead making trips to the hospital,' she wrote in her update. 'Thankfully, both Vaayu and I are doing much better now (sic).'She added, 'A lot of you have been asking about my weight loss. It wasn't intentional, just due to being unwell (sic).'
