Kacchi Dargah to Raghopur stretch of six-lane RoB almost complete: Min

1 2 3 Patna: Road construction minister Nitin Nabin reviewed the progress of the Kacchi Dargah-Bidupur six-lane river overbridge (RoB) project on Monday. The bridge, being built over river Ganga, will connect Patna to Bidupur in Vaishali district. The portion from Kacchi Dargah to Raghopur is almost complete, while minister has directed the construction agency to complete the remaining work by June 15 by deploying additional manpower and machinery, if required. Nabin said being built at a cost of Rs 4,988 crore by Bihar State Road Development Corporation Limited (BSRDCL), the extra-dosed cable-stayed bridge will facilitate easier access to administrative, social services, health and higher education facilities between north and south Bihar, significantly reducing travel time. The development will create an essential link between National Highways 31 and 322. The total length of the bridge is 19.76km, including over 9-km span over Ganga, and an approach road of 10km. Nabin inspected the bridge starting from NH-30, proceeding through the ramp to Bidupur. He said that this is a significant step towards the CM's commitment to connect every block. "During rainy season, when the river level rises, Raghopur residents face connectivity issues. During the review, Nabin was informed about difficulties in operations due to low water levels in the northern channel of Ganga. Nabin visited the site and was informed that silt removal is being carried out with the help of a high-power dredger from the Inland Waterways Authority of India.

Sankar Vilas flyover project in Guntur hits roadblock

Guntur: The much-awaited Sankar Vilas flyover seemed to have hit a big roadblock as local property owners approached the court and got favourable orders. The court directed state govt not to initiate the work on the project without payment of compensation to the property owners through the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, known as land acquisition Act of 2013. The officials were also worried to use force to initiate the work in the wake of recent supreme court verdict to demote a deputy collector to the rank of tehsildar, who bulldozed the houses without honoring the high court verdict. Sources said that owners of about 43 properties in Arundelpet area rejected the offer of Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) to accept the Transferable Development Rights (TDR) bonds in return for cash compensation. The GMC officials tried to convince the property owners to explain that they would get four times to the market value through TDR bonds while the cash compensation would be two times to the official market value if they preferred to enforce the land acquisition Act. Sources said that official book value in Arundelpet is between 1 lakh and 1.5 lakh per while the selling price in the open market is anywhere between 2.5 lakh and 3 lakh per Since the officials calculate the compensation based on registration department fixed book value, a owner of 100 property would get approximately around 1 crore compensation. The officials have to pay the structure value as well. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like เทรดทองCFDs กับโบรกเกอร์ที่เชื่อถือได้ | เรียนรู้เพิ่มเติม IC Markets สมัคร Undo All the properties in Arundelpet area are commercial establishments with huge number of workers on rolls. As per the Act, govt had to pay compensation to the workers' rehabilitation and also wage component for at least 18 months. In fact, the construction of new RoB at Sankar vilas junction has been hanging in balance for the past decade. TDP govt estimated that it would require at least 150- 200 crore to complete the project between 2014-19 itself. However, project was not taken up due to the state's precarious financial conditions. After joining the Union cabinet, Dr Pemmasani Chandrasekhar took the RoB issue to his personal prestige and got it cleared from the union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari.

Pushing steel bridge over rail line for RoB begins in Udupi after SoS by local MP

After Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Kota Srinivas Poojary sent an SoS to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on May 10 regarding the inordinate delay in permitting pushing of the bow-string steel bridge structure for construction of the additional Railway Over Bridge (RoB) at Indrali in Udupi, the rail authorities began facilitating the work on May 12. On May 10, Mr. Poojary posted on X: 'Urgent attention needed for Indrali Railway Overbridge in Udupi district, Karnataka! Despite readiness for girder installation & inspection by #KonkanRailway Chief Engineer, permission is being delayed. Rain could further complicate matters. @AshwiniVaishnaw #RailwayInfrastructure.' On May 12, the MP told The Hindu that the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) of the Indian Railways had inspected the bow-string steel bridge structure. TDSO approved installation on May 11 night, following his SoS to the Minister. The Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) would start providing line and power blocks to restrict train movement on the section from 11.30 a.m. onwards at regular intervals, thereby facilitating pulling of the structure over the Mangaluru-Mumbai railway line, he said. Pushing began on April 17 The National Highways Division of the Karnataka Public Works Department was executing the project. It had commenced pushing the girder on April 17 from Manipal-end after KRCL engineers tested the structure. The RDSO conducted the statutory inspection in April last week, and was satisfied with the structure, according to a NH PWD senior engineer. However, KRCL did not allow pushing of the structure over the railway line stating that it had not received certified copies of the RDSO certification. This abnormal delay angered the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP, prompting him to send the SoS, the engineer said. A fortnight's work While the pushing gets completed in about a day, lowering the structure would take about a week followed by concreting the bridge surface, the engineer said. In all probability, the additional RoB should be ready by the end of May, he said. The department is using hydraulic jacks, birders and rails atop the girders to push the 12-metre wide, 58-metre long and about 476-tonne pre-assembled bridge inch-by-inch.

Brace for traffic snarls on Ajmer Rd for next fortnight

Jaipur: Brace for traffic snarls on Ajmer Road for the next fortnight as the Gopalbari-bound flank of the elevated road on Ajmer Road will remain closed for at least the next fortnight. "We are going to relay the surface of the elevated road on Ajmer Road – officially known as the Acharya Tulsi Setu. In the first phase, we are going to repair the Gopalbari-bound flank of the elevated road. It will take at least 15-20 days to complete the work," said a senior engineer of there won't be any restrictions on the Railway Over bridge (RoB) in Gopalbari, where the flank of the elevated road ends. Vehicles coming from the Jacob Road crossing of the Ajmer Road can use this RoB to reach the Gopalbadi-side. To facilitate this maintenance work, traffic movement on the Gopalbari-bound flank will remain suspended from 9 pm on Monday until the work is completed. This means traffic coming from the 200-Feet Bypass Crossing side won't be allowed to take this elevated road during this period."Traffic coming from the 200-Feet Bypass crossing or from the Vaishali Nagar side will have to travel by the Ajmer Road below this elevated road for the next 15 to 20 days. We have made an elaborate diversion plan and will deploy additional force on Ajmer Road during this period. Hopefully, traffic movement on Ajmer Road will remain smooth despite these additional vehicles," DCP Traffic Shaheen C told engineers claimed that this will be the first major restoration work for this elevated road, which was inaugurated in October 2014 as the first elevated road of Jaipur. "A few stretches of this elevated road have deteriorated in the last 11 years and need to be completely restored. Rainwater from the metro tracks over this elevated road has made things worse over the years," an official JDA finishes work on one flank of the Acharya Tulsi Setu, the civic body will start restoration works for the other side of the elevated road.
