Neha Dhupia talks about getting trolled after gaining 25 kgs weight post pregnancy; REACTS to her 'It's her choice' controversy
Neha Dhupia reflects on her journey in Bollywood, addressing early typecasting after roles like 'Julie' and the persistent backlash from her 'It's her choice' comment on Roadies. She clarifies the statement's intent, emphasizing a woman's right to autonomy. Entering her 40s, Neha embraces self-worth, supported by her husband Angad Bedi, navigating post-pregnancy body image challenges and celebrating her current confidence. From being unfairly typecast to facing brutal online trolling, Neha Dhupia has weathered many storms in the spotlight. Now in her 40s, the actress is embracing a renewed sense of self-worth — and opening up about the personal and professional battles that shaped her journey. Typecast Early in Career Speaking on The Durex Podcast alongside Abhay Deol and comedian Sumukhi, Neha opened up about being unfairly judged and typecast in Bollywood due to a few early film choices, including Julie. Speaking on The Durex Podcast, she shared how difficult it was to shift people's perceptions and prove her versatility as an actor. Neha also addressed the backlash she faced for her 'It's her choice' comment on Roadies, revealing that even after eight years, trolls continue to bring it up. She expressed frustration that the context behind her statement was never truly understood, adding that it often feels like she's walking on eggshells. The 'It's Her Choice' Controversy Neha clarified that her controversial 'It's her choice' remark on MTV Roadies was misunderstood. She explained that her intent was to highlight a woman's right to make her own choices — something she believes is the essence of true freedom. The comment, made in response to a contestant's situation involving a woman with multiple boyfriends, was widely misinterpreted as justifying infidelity, but Neha insists it was about supporting autonomy, not actions. The actress shared that entering her 40s has been a turning point in how she views herself. She now prioritises her own well-being and feels more confident in her skin than ever before. Recalling the tough phase after her pregnancy, she opened up about gaining 25 kgs and dealing with trolling and self-doubt. But through it all, her husband Angad Bedi was her biggest support — constantly making her feel beautiful and valued. Coming from a beauty pageant background, Neha admitted those physical changes initially affected her deeply. But today, she says, she feels like the best and sexiest version of herself. Neha and Angad tied the knot in a quiet, intimate ceremony at a gurudwara, taking fans by surprise. The couple welcomed their daughter, Mehr, in November 2018, followed by their son, Guriq, in 2021. Neha Dhupia recalls being jobless, getting trolled after gaining 25 kgs post-pregnancy
Bollywood actor Neha Dhupia spoke about how her early choices in the film industry led to her being boxed. During a conversation with Abhay Deol and comedian Sumukhi on The Durex Podcast, Neha recalled gaining 25 kg after pregnancy and being trolled — but her husband, actor Angad Bedi, made her feel beautiful and comfortable in her own skin. (Also Read: Shows like 'Adolescence' make us reassess, recalibrate as parents: Neha Dhupia) Neha spoke about being trolled for her 'It's her choice' comment on Roadies and how she was typecast in Bollywood. She said, 'Without social media also I was also kind of judged for those kind of films I did early in my career, even when I did only one or two of them. I had to change paths, and that hard part was to make people believe in me. Just because I did a movie like Julie back in the day, doesn't mean I can't do a mainstream comedy film. I felt like I was walking on eggshells later. It's been eight years since the 'It's her choice' thing happened, and even now, if I go wrong anywhere, trolls flood the comments with the same thing. Nobody understood the context of what I was trying to say.' She explained that the context she was trying to set was that a woman is allowed to have choices, which is the ultimate freedom. She said this in reference to her comment made to one of the contestants on MTV Roadies, where she was perceived to be justifying a woman having five boyfriends. She said that, in her 40s, she has started prioritising herself and becoming more comfortable in her own skin. She recalled how Angad made her feel supported when she gained weight after pregnancy. 'As an actor, when I gave birth, I gained 25 kgs, but my husband made me feel beautiful. He would compliment me all the time. In my head, I used to think that I'm jobless right now, whenever I step out, I get trolled, and my clothes don't fit me. I came from a background of beauty pageants, and these things used to matter to me, I am not going to lie. But now, finally in my 40s, I feel like those things did not matter, and I feel the best version of myself. Today I feel my sexiest.' Angad and Neha tied the knot in a gurudwara in a hush-hush wedding that surprised many. The couple welcomed their first child, Mehr Dhupia Bedi, in November 2018, and their second, Guriq Singh Dhupia Bedi, in 2021. Meanwhile, Neha is currently part of Roadies XX as a gang leader, alongside Prince Narula, Elvish Yadav, Rhea Chakraborty and Gautam Gulati. Hosted by Rannvijay Singha, the show is set to conclude on June 1.

‘I was jobless, my clothes didn't fit me and I was getting trolled': Neha Dhupia shares how husband Angad Bedi supported her through tough times
Neha Dhupia has dabbled in various mediums in her decades-long career in the entertainment industry. But a lot of backlash and criticism has followed her everywhere; first, it was for her choice of films, and then, it was for her appearance. During an episode of the Durex podcast hosted by Abhay Deol, Dhupia appeared alongside comedian Sumukhi Suresh and talked about the several challenges that come with fame, and how she dealt with constantly being in the public eye. While talking to Sumuki about trolling, Abhay Deol asked Neha about her experience with online hate. She talked about being put in a box in Bollywood, and how she has been misunderstood by the audience. 'I had to convince people to accept me because I got judged for the roles I did in my early days in the industry. It's been eight years since the 'It's her choice' thing happened and even now, if I go wrong anywhere, people flood the comments with the same thing. Nobody understood the context of what I was trying to say.' She was making a reference to a comment that she made on the show MTV Roadies, where she was perceived to be justifying a woman's adultery. 'Whatever I am learning or unlearning now is because I have started prioritising myself and being comfortable in my skin. Even when I put on a lot of weight after having a child, my husband made me feel comfortable in my own skin. He would compliment me all the time,' she said. She added that Angad's support for her, though expected, was almost bizarre to her because she herself didn't feel confident in what she was doing and how she looked. She added, 'In my head I used to think that I'm jobless right now, whenever I step out I get trolled, and my clothes don't fit me. I came from a background of beauty pageants, and these things used to matter to me, I am not going to lie. But now, finally in my 40s, I feel like those things did not matter, and I feel the best version of myself,' she said. Neha, who is continuing her run as a judge on Roadies, married Angad in 2018, and the couple have two children. Angad, who is also an actor, is the son of famous Indian cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi. The Traitors: What You Get When Bigg Boss And Roadies Have A Baby
Amazon Prime Video on Friday released the trailer of its new reality show The Traitors at an event in Mumbai - and let's just say, the drama is already real and the knives are out (metaphorically for now). Think of it as a spicy cocktail of Bigg Boss chaos and Roadies betrayal. But this time, there are 20 contestants, 3 secret traitors, and one simple rule: Trust no one. You can smile, hug, and make friends... But be careful, there's a good chance you might be hugging your enemy. Sounds like a regular Monday at work, doesn't it? Chaos And Betrayal But Made In India This show has already caused 'drama' in over 30 countries. Now, it's set to turn Indian screens into war zones. The original recipe is international, but the spice is 100% desi. The casting is straight out of a reel trending on social media. There are influencers with millions of followers, TV stars, fashionistas, comedians, and even a poker champ. The idea? Bring in people who already know how to perform and ensure their followers come along for the ride. Smart move, Prime Video. Very smart. At the helm of this wild journey is none other than Karan Johar, who is trading in film scripts for mind games as the host (but not of Koffee With Karan). Picture him channelling Salman Khan on Bigg Boss with more sass and a sharper wardrobe. Decoding The Game Of The Traitors The first episode of The Traitors will arrive on the streamer on June 12, with new episodes dropping every Thursday at 8 pm. Each week, the show promises to offer a sneak peek into emotional breakdowns, dramatic accusations, and friendships that go from "bestie" to "betrayer" in perhaps less than 60 seconds. But here's the real game: it's not just about winning money - it's about earning trust too. And that, dear reader, is the rarest currency in any reality show. If reality TV was a video game, The Traitors is boss level. From the looks of it, it's smart, sneaky, and emotionally messy - just how we like it. Meet the 20 Brave (Or Foolish?) Contestants of the Traitors Raftaar - Rapper, reality TV show judge, and possibly too chill for all the drama Karan Kundrra - Actor, host, and reality TV regular Apoorva Makhija - Fashion influencer with a strong game face Sufi Motiwala - Fashion critic who'll probably read everyone's outfits AND motives Nikita Luther - Poker champ; bluffing is her cardio Sahil Salathia - Actor, model, maybe a future traitor? Jannat Zubair - Gen Z queen with a million fans Uorfi Javed - Social media's wildcard; expect fireworks Raj Kundra - Businessman-husband of Celebrity Big Brother winner Shilpa Shetty and now a reality player Elnaaz Norouzi - Glam, grit, and maybe game Lakshmi Manchu - South Indian star power Harsh Gujral - Comedian and actor who'll laugh through the lies Anshula Kapoor - Arjun Kapoor's sister and a rising social media star out to make her own mark Sudhanshu Pandey - That one serious contestant who might surprise us Janhvi Gaur - Digital creator with killer instincts? Purav Jha - Gen Z actor, possibly the stealthiest of them all Jasmin Bhasin - TV sweetheart-turned-reality TV warrior Maheep Kapoor - Fabulous wife with a sharp tongue Ashish Vidyarthi - Veteran actor ready to outplay them all Mukesh Chhabra - Casting king now cast into the drama himself
