College Football 26 video game release date confirmed as EA Sports promises 'more of what you love'
After a triumphant comeback with College Football 25 and an 11-year hiatus since NCAA Football 14, EA Sports is set to launch another installment in its celebrated college football video game series. College Football 26 is slated for release on July 10, 2025, with the fan-favourite 'Road to Glory' high-school role-playing feature making a comeback. A sneak peek at the game is scheduled for May, though some exciting tidbits have already come to light: the game will boast three different covers, real-life college coaches will be featured, a fresh score bug will be introduced, and other juicy details, including specifics on the deluxe edition, are forthcoming. Adding to the hype, for the second year running, College Football 26 will include well-known college football stars, continuing after the groundbreaking NIL changes shook up the sport. Athletes who joined College Football 25, such as Travis Hunter and Arch Manning , were rewarded with $600 plus a copy of the game. "From the beginning, we've designed our NIL program to be accessible, direct, voluntary, and equitable for all, offering the same base-level compensation to every FBS athlete that opts in using the OneTeam platform and COMPASS NIL app," EA Sports' VP of Business Development Sean O'Brien announced. "This approach empowers each athlete to make their own decision. College sports are growing and changing, and our focus at EA Sports is on continuing to put athletes first as we bring them in the game in College Football 26 and beyond." A select group of star players was present at a March photoshoot, which could be for one of the game's three anticipated covers. The standout figures included: Alabama's skillful receiver Ryan Williams, Ohio State's dynamic receiver Jeremiah Smith, LSU's quarterback ace Garrett Nussmeier, Notre Dame's fleet-footed running back Jeremiyah Love, and South Carolina's formidable defensive end Dylan Stewart. The event was graced by some of the coaching fraternity's luminaries, such as: Georgia's Kirby Smart, Ole Miss's Lane Kiffin, Ohio State's Ryan Day, Penn State's James Franklin, and Oregon's Dan Lanning.

EA Sports College Football 26 cover leak highlights more players, coaches
The EA Sports College Football 26 cover will have a lot more faces on it, including coaches, former players and an incoming freshman. A photo of a potential cover of the Deluxe Edition leaked on Wednesday, with Instagram user TubbyCFB obtaining images of a cover and a photoshoot from the Rose Bowl Stadium. The Athletic confirmed with multiple people briefed on the situation that the photo was real and the photoshoot took place on Wednesday. EA Sports would not confirm its veracity. It's likely the image is not the final cover, given the photo was taken this week and the game will not come out until the summer. CFB26 is also expected to have multiple covers, just like CFB25 did and other sports games typically do. A post shared by Tubby (formerly bringncaaback) (@tubbycfb) Players visible on the cover leak include Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and safety Caleb Downs, Florida quarterback DJ Lagway, LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, Penn State running back Nick Singleton, Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams, Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt, Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love South Carolina edge rusher Dylan Stewart and Michigan true freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood. Advertisement Coaches visible on the cover include Ohio State's Ryan Day, Georgia's Kirby Smart, Penn State's James Franklin, Arizona State's Kenny Dillingham and Ole Miss' Lane Kiffin. It could indicate that real coaches are in the game, which was not the case in CFB25. Kiffin said last year he'd participate in the game for free. Former players on the cover include Reggie Bush, Tim Tebow and Denard Robinson, all past individual cover stars for previous editions of the game, perhaps indicating a legends cover. The cover also included mascots from Georgia, Clemson, Oregon and Tennessee, as well as an Indiana flag and fans repping Texas and what appears to be Toledo, along with other schools. CFB25 was the highest-selling sports video game of all-time in total dollars and was reviewed well, but gamers are hoping for many new features in the CFB26, such as more customization, deeper Dynasty and Road to Glory modes, substitution packages, online crossplay Dynasty and more. 'We went into it knowing there was a lot of stuff we couldn't get into the first year,' EA Sports senior vice president Daryl Holt told The Athletic in January. 'So there's a lot of meat left on the bone.'
