MSU football moves opener vs. WMU to Friday night, releases additional game times Michigan State football will once again open the season under the lights on a Friday night. The Big Ten conference announced the official television schedule for a number of early season games for the upcoming 2025 season, which included the move of Michigan State's season-opener against Western Michigan to Friday night. The game will kickoff at 7 p.m. ET on August 29, and will be televised on Fox Sports 1. Last week, the official Michigan State football social media account hinted at the game being moved up to Friday when it released its countdown tracker to the season-opener. But now it is official. On top of the opener being moved up to Friday night, the conference released a few other game times and TV selections for the Spartans' 2025 schedule. Those are listed below: Boston College at Michigan State will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET on September 6 and be televised on NBC Youngstown State at Michigan State will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday 13 and be televised on Big Ten Network Michigan State at Nebraska will kickoff at 12 p.m. ET, 3:30 p.m. ET or 4 p.m. ET on October 4 (TV to be determined) UCLA at Michigan State will kickoff at 12 p.m. ET on October 11 (TV to be determined) Michigan State at Indiana will kickoff at 12 p.m. ET, 3:30 p.m. ET or 4 p.m. ET on October 18 (TV to be determined) The rest of the kickoff times and TV selections for the Michigan State schedule next season will come out at a later date. A newer Spartan recruiting target has locked in an official visit to Michigan State for next month. Arthur Scott of Streetsboro, Ohio announced on Friday that he'll be taking an official visit to Michigan State in June. According to a post on social media platform X, Scott will be visiting Michigan State on June 13. The announcement of an official visit to Michigan State comes only a few days after Scott picked up an offer from the Spartans. Advertisement Scott is a three-star defensive lineman in the 2026 class. He has a recruiting ranking of 86 on 247Sports. Scott ranks as the No. 115 defensive lineman in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports. He is also listed as the No. 59 player from Ohio in the class. Scott holds offers from 15 schools, according to 247Sports. Other programs that are showing interest in him with a scholarship offer are Rutgers, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Akron, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Kent State, Miami (OH), Ohio, Toledo, Western Kentucky and Western Michigan. Scott is also scheduled to visit Wisconsin (May 30), Rutgers (6) and Cincinnati (June 20), according to 247Sports.
