Avengers: Doomsday ‘Set Leak' Videos Are Our New, Inescapable AI Reality
Avengers Doomsday A video was quickly spread around social media over the past 24 hours, racking up 7 million views at the time of this writing, as everyone scrambled to see what were purported to be set leaks from the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, currently shooting in a number of regions. The video was full of surprises, Robert Downey Jr. in his Doctor Doom costume. The unannounced appearances of Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch and Deadpool. Big reveals! It's fake. Of course it's fake. It's AI. But it's AI which shows how much the tech is spiraling into something almost unstoppable. It's true, if you pause the video you can no doubt parse that it's AI. Some parts are more clear than others, like a Thor that looks like Heath Ledger or a Scarlet Witch that looks like Taylor Swift, but if you just flipped through this quickly, you can see how it can 'pass' on first glance, at least recreating the look and feel of set leak videos in a way I've simply never seen faked before. It was eventually community-noted as AI, but not before it had at least 5 million views or so. Throw this on Facebook (which I'm sure has happened already), and I bet you'd convinced 95% of users there it was legitimate. It's funny, the first way I saw this debunked wasn't because of glitched hands or odd faces, but rather no one believed that Marvel would actually use a practical suit for Iron Man at this point, as that armor has long been CGI with Robert Downey Jr. walking around in a mo-cap suit. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder This video quote tweets a set shot that appears to have spawned the entire idea, bringing the still to life in at least one scene and I…I'm not even sure whether that one is an AI image or not (it says it isn't, which is clearly trustworthy!). It is. I think it is. I need to do some more zooming in. SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA - JULY 27: Robert Downey Jr. speaks onstage at the Marvel Studios Panel during ... More 2024 Comic-Con International at San Diego Convention Center on July 27, 2024 in San Diego, California. (Photo by) But that's the point, isn't it? In only a few years, we keep getting to new levels of this tech that you have to pause and zoom and scrutinize to prove whether or not it's AI. This video here would not have been remotely possible a year ago. What happens in a year from now? No more Taylor Swift or Heath Ledger faces, I imagine. I don't think this was actually trying to be a serious leak. I mean, throwing Deadpool, Spider-Man and Scarlet Witch in there is kind of a goof. But this was made in a day after the other leaked ('leaked') set shot was being passed around. Is this kind of silly? It is, once you break it down and see the obvious changes. But expect to see this kind of thing happen more and more in the leak space and become more and more convincing as a result. The next few years are going to be unsettling. Fans Were Freaking Out After Chris Hemsworth Posted (Seemingly) A Goodbye To Thor, But They're Missing One Key Detail
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Following the departure of Robert Downey Jr., at least as Iron Man, Chris Evans, and Scarlett Johansson from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Hemsworth's Thor has been one of the last, and the most visible, of the original Avengers team. With other Avengers, like Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye, also passing the torch to new heroes, one wonders just how much longer Thor will be around. It seems likely that Hemsworth may follow in the footsteps of his fellow Avengers and hang up his hammer before too long. However, fans were recently given a scare as they were afraid he'd chosen to do it now. Yesterday, Chris Hemsworth posted a video to his YouTube channel titled 'Thank You! The Legacy of Thor.' The video included a variety of shots and interviews with various people from the beginning of Hemsworth's time in the MCU up through the present day. Along with the video came a post that read… Playing Thor has been one of the greatest honors of my life. For the last 15 years I've held Mjolnir and then Stormbreaker as the God of Thunder, but what made it truly special… was sharing it with all of you. Your passion, your cheers, and your love for this character have meant everything to me. Needless to say, the video and the post gave fans a start because it's easy to see it all as a farewell. Numerous posts indicated that when they first saw the post, they thought it was a retirement announcement. Comments included… Got scared for a second that this was announcement that you were retiring from the character -@reallynotnoone I my heart skipped a beat the second I saw this came across this video, I THOUGHT YOU WERE RETIRING 😭 PLEASE DON'T SCARE US LIKE THAT MY FATHER AND I ADORE THOR AND YOU -@veronicakim5412 I WAS THINKING THIS WAS THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE THOR'S END IN MCU Don't scare me like that, Chris!! -@nichols._.editss literally got Hemsworth is a true legend .....Lots of love from India Sir -@vedant3598 Ok. I thought this is like a farewell video Need Thor 5 -@hi_im_willow However, fans don't need to be too worried about losing Thor. At least not yet. While Hemsworth's post could be read as a goodbye, anybody who saw the reveal of the Avengers: Doomsday cast knew that the Thor actor isn't done yet. His name was the first one revealed in the epic Marvel livestream. He also re-confirmed this fact at the end of his post, saying… Thank you for making my journey through the Marvel Cinematic Universe unforgettable.. Next up, Doomsday! Of course, none of this means that Chris Hemsworth's Thor days aren't numbered. Thor may be appearing in next year's Avengers: Doomsday, but there's certainly no guarantee the character will survive the events. Perhaps this was a way for Hemsworth to begin to say goodbye to his time in the MCU.

What Actually Happens If You're on the No Fly List?
If you've ever watched the movie, 'Due Date,' you're probably familiar with the concept of a no-fly list. In the 2010 film, Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifiniakis' characters end up having to drive across the country after getting kicked off of a flight for inadvertently using trigger words like 'bomb' and 'terrorist.' While the movie is a comedy, and it's not based on a true story, no-fly lists are no joke. American citizens are entitled to certain inalienable human rights, but flying isn't one of them. If you do something that the federal government or the airlines deem bad enough, you can lose the right to a middle seat faster than the flight attendants can give their safety speech. The U.S. federal government's official No Fly List is a private list created and updated by a division of the FBI called the Threat Screening Center (TSC). The No Fly List is actually part of a larger list, the terrorist watchlist. 'While we cannot provide a demographic breakdown, we can confirm that U.S. persons make up approximately half a percent of No Fly records,' an FBI spokesperson tells Travel + Leisure . Anyone on the No Fly List is banned from flying on commercial aircraft to or from the U.S. Additionally, they're not allowed to fly, commercially, over the U.S. According to the FBI, any individual, regardless of where they have citizenship, can end up on the No Fly List. For years, extremely wealthy passengers on the No Fly List have gotten around it by flying in and out on their private jets which aren't subject to screening by TSA, one of the government agencies with access to the No Fly List. View through a plane window. Margot Cavin/Travel + Leisure There are a number of things that can get you on the federal No Fly List. For starters, you could be placed on it if you make a threat that can be deemed an act of international or domestic terrorism pertaining to an aircraft, an airline, a passenger, or civil aviation security. You can also find yourself on the list for a threat to commit an act of terrorism with respect to the U.S. or a threat to commit an act of international terrorism. This includes making threats against U.S. government facilities abroad such as embassies, consulates, and military bases. The federal No Fly List is not public because if it were, terrorist organizations could potentially use it to their advantage. Most of the time, the only way you'll know that you're on the federal No Fly List is because you won't receive a boarding pass from the airline after purchasing your ticket. In extremely limited circumstances, if you're a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident, you may receive a letter from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) informing you that you are on the No Fly List, although it doesn't always explain why you're on it. Often, the letter will include an option for you to appeal if you think you don't belong on the No Fly List. If you are not a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident, you won't receive this letter. In addition to the official federal No Fly List, airlines are allowed to blacklist passengers from future flights. 'Like most major airlines, Delta does maintain an internal no-fly list separate from a no-fly list managed by TSA/Homeland Security,' a spokesperson for Delta told T+L. 'Out of many security and operational considerations, we don't comment or characterize details about our internal list.' Many passengers on these airline no-fly lists—which airlines have different names for—are deemed 'unruly passengers.' In 2024, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) logged 2,102 unruly passenger reports. It may seem like a lot, but keep in mind that 2.9 million passengers fly in and out of U.S. airports every day. Being on one airline's no-fly list doesn't mean you are on another airline's no-fly list. For the most part, they don't share that information. For example, when Executive Platinum American Airlines member Keith White showed up at the airport only to find himself on American Airlines' no-fly list, he was able to get to his final destination by purchasing a last-minute ticket on another airline. By the time he reached his final destination, American Airlines had removed him from their no-fly list; they never told him why he was on it. View through an airport window on a rainy day. Margot Cavin/Travel + Leisure Unruly behavior is the number one reason passengers end up on an airline's no-fly list. This includes making threats or acting in a violent manner that prevents airline crew members from doing their jobs, which subsequently impacts the safety of other passengers. In 2022, Delta reported having nearly 2,000 passengers on its no-fly list, most of whom ended up on it for refusing to wear a mask during the height of the COVID pandemic. Of course, not all unruly behavior is considered detrimental enough to ban you from flying the airline ever again. United, for example, takes away other perks or privileges including loyalty miles and Mileage Plus account status for minor offenses. You can also lose your eligibility for TSA PreCheck. For more severe incidents, the consequences are more serious. In addition to being placed on their internal no-fly list, an airline can report your behavior to the FAA who can hit you with up to $37,000 in fines (per violation). The FAA can also refer your case to the FBI which can result in a felony trial and even jail time. According to Christopher Elliot, a consumer advocate and founder of Elliot Advocacy, airlines should tell you in advance if you're on their version of a no-fly list. Elliot also says consumers need to be informed of why they're banned and how they can get the ban lifted. Still, airlines don't always do this. Some passengers, such as Keith White, don't find out until the agent at the gate tries to scan their boarding pass, and it gets denied. That said, if you do something on a flight that gets you immediately banned, you may be served papers after you're escorted off the plane. Other passengers report receiving emails from the airlines informing them of their status. Just because you are selected for extra screening or find the dreaded 'SSSS' on your boarding pass does not mean you are on an airline's no-fly list. According to the DHS, 'Such delays are often caused by a name similarity to another person who is on the watchlist.' If this happens to you, you can appeal and apply for a redress number. '98 percent of individuals who apply for redress have no nexus to the terrorist watchlist,' reports the DHS. A redress number is basically a 7-digit case number assigned to you that you can input when you're booking a flight. When you do so, the airline and TSA can refer back to your case and see that you're not on a watchlist, despite being flagged.

Marvel Will Skip San Diego Comic-Con's Hall H Again This Year
After a massive 2024 panel with Robert Downey Jr., Kevin Feige and the Avengers are taking the year off. Doctor Doom is already destroying things in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He's got his eyes set on the Fantastic Four, Avengers, and now with his movie, Avengers: Doomsday, having been pushed until December 2026, he's taken a big bite out of San Diego Comic-Con too. Marvel Studios won't have one of its signature Hall H panels this year. The news was first reported by the Hollywood Reporter which io9 then confirmed with a source at Marvel Studios. The reasoning is all pretty understandable. Avengers: Doomsday was supposed to come out in May 2026 but is now coming out in December 2026. That means there will be a whole other Comic-Con before its release. With the cast now filming that movie, the studio must have felt like it simply couldn't deliver on the blockbuster panels of the past. And so, it's taking the year off. This isn't the first time Marvel Studios has skipped Hall H either. In 2011, 2015, 2018, and 2023, the studio skipped because either movies were too busy with production or there simply wasn't enough concrete news to share in order to live up to the studio's standard. And make no mistake, Marvel has high standards when it comes to Hall H. Anytime there is a panel, it becomes the biggest event of the weekend, and after last year's panel that culminated in the reveal of the Russos coming back for two Avengers movies, as well as Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, that would've been a hard to follow no matter what. So that's the case here. There's just one movie in production, which was already delayed to give the filmmakers more time, so taking a week off to promote a movie 18 months away without footage certainly seems excessive. Especially when it could come back next year with footage, cast members, and maybe even news about what the future holds, too. That's not to say Marvel won't be at Comic-Con at all in 2025. Other branches of the company will have panels for comics, games, and more—and with The Fantastic Four: First Steps opening in theaters during Comic-Con, there will be a large presence on the convention floor, including an immersive booth. Marvel is also promising 'other surprises,' which could mean almost anything. Don't forget, last year, Deadpool & Wolverine opened during Comic-Con so the studio showed the movie in Hall H. Maybe that could happen again? Plus, fans looking for Marvel convention news won't have to wait long. It'll be at CCXP in Mexico this weekend with news and footage on Fantastic Four. Are you bummed Marvel won't be at Hall H this year? Do you expect to DC to fill that slot? Let us know below.

Fans are Convinced Marvel is Going to Kill Off Thor in Recent Post from Chris Hemsworth
With Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans bowing out of the MCU after Endgame , it was Chris Hemsworth who was left behind to keep reprising Thor for Marvel Studios. With him expected to make an appearance in Doomsday , a lot of fans are convinced that this could be Hemsworth's last time as the God of Thunder because of a recent statement he made. Hemsworth (via @CultureCrave) wrote: 'Playing Thor has been one of the greatest honors of my life. For the last 15 years I've held Mjolnir and then Stormbreaker as the God of Thunder, but what made it truly special… was sharing it with all of you. Your passion, your cheers, and your love for this character have meant everything to me' 'Thank you for making my journey through the MCU unforgettable.. Next up, Doomsday!' At this point, everyone was already convinced that this means that they could be killing him off in the movie. Fans have replied with, 'Ya he's getting cooked ,' and, ' Oh he's not coming back after Doomsday.' With all of his other co-stars having moved on, it would make sense for Hemsworth to drop out of the MCU eventually. After all, he did go public with a diagnosis of him being susceptible to Alzheimer's disease, and it's possible he could be taking the time to process that. Personally, I was just hoping that they kept him around in a limited role. Thor eventually takes the place of Odin in the comics, and it would have been great if Hemsworth could just stick around in a chair ruling Asgard and being mentor to a new Thor. For now, fans wait for Avengers: Doomsday which comes out Dec. 18, 2026.
