The allegations stem back to 2018 and were outlined in Ms Southern's recent memoir, This is Not Real Life. Tate, 38, responded by suggesting the accusations were because Ms Southern "needs book sales". The controversial YouTuber, who has over 700,000 subscribers, claims Tate drove her to a steakhouse in his "polished sports car" and was "flirtatious" for most of the short journey. read more in Andrew Tate TATE SHOCK Andrew Tate escapes charges for allegedly assaulting ex Bri Stern at LA hotel But Ms Southern says his charm soon dwindled with their conversation starting to "feel off". She went on to say that the pair didn't speak one-on-one for some time as she joined up with Robinson's team to speak about funding a media startup. After the meeting, Tate offered the team to come back to his notorious Romanian compound. Ms Southern says she returned to her hotel room a few hours afterwards before Tate messaged her asking to meet up again. Later that night, the Canadian woman went back to the compound before going to a nightclub with the Tate's team. "He put his arm around my neck and began strangling me unconscious." She claims she tried to fight back but was repeatedly attacked. "I'd prefer not to share the rest. He said: "Chooses the chapter about me to release 'for free' to get attention so she can sell her memoirs of promiscuity. "Coincidence I'm sure." In a reply to another X user, Tate wrote: "Was 10 years ago. Needs book sales I guess." He then claimed that he has texts messages which appear to show Ms Southern "begging for money, for her 'company' and begging to see me again". Tate's attorney Joseph McBride added that his client "unequivocally repudiates" the claims. He added: "We shall pursue Southern relentlessly for defamation." The allegation is the latest in a slew of cases against Andrew as well as Tristan. Both face a number of criminal charges in both the UK and Romania. Andrew is accused of ten charges in total. This includes rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking and controlling prostitution for gain against three women. His brother, 36, is charged with 11 offences against one alleged victim - including rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking. The pair deny all of the charges. Like the Tates, Ms Southern also has a chequered past. In 2018 - the same year as the alleged rape - she was refused entry to the UK on racism grounds. She handed out flyers in Luton that read "Allah is a gay god" outside a restaurant in the town centre.

Ballymena schoolgirl 'dragged into garage by thee males and raped', court hears

A schoolgirl was 'dragged into a garage while she was walking down a street in Ballymena by three men and raped', a court heard today as details emerged of the assault which sparked rioting A schoolgirl had been walking on a street when she was allegedly dragged into a garage by three men and raped, a court has heard. Details have emerged for the first time in court over a girl from Ballymena, Northern Ireland, who was allegedly raped and sexually assaulted in June. Two of the suspects were quickly arrested by police within hours but Ballymena Youth Court heard a third suspect has fled the country. This alleged rape and sexual assault ignited "racist" protestors to riot and unleash chaos on the streets of Ballymena, with some throwing petrol bombs, fireworks and bricks in horror scenes, according to police. A 14-year-old Romanian boy was arrested and has applied for bail. This teen and another 14-year-old boy are currently being remanded in custody after they were charged with attempted rape. The court today heard the third suspect fled back to Romania and had not been caught by cops yet. A detective constable told the court the girl's grandmother called the police in June and said the schoolgirl "had been raped by three Bulgarian males in a garage in Harryville", according to the Sunday World. The girl then told police she had been walking on the street but "three males grabbed her and took her to a garage down an alleyway". This schoolgirl then said there were two mattresses inside this alley and claimed she was put onto one. The court then heard the detective constable say two of the three men had their genitals out while they "started touching themselves". The detective constable then claimed one man - who fled the UK - "raped her" while the two 14-year-old's tried to sexually assault her. The policewoman said: "She said this went on for about 10 minutes, but when they heard a male voice outside, the three ran off." The court heard the young girl was allegedly then able to leave. The detective constable also told the court the 14-year-old who made a bail application, who cannot be named due to his age, denied the charges against him and did not answer police questions. The cop also told the court: "We believe that, given the significant public disorder that descended after the incident, there's a risk that, if released, this defendant will leave the jurisdiction and we are not content that any conditions can be put in place to prevent that." The judge adjourned the bail case and the other 14-year-old boy's case to August 6. Northern Ireland's Justice Minister Naomi Long, at the time the riots after the two boys were arrested, said she was "appalled" by the violence inflicted on attending officers and locals. She said: "I am absolutely appalled by the disturbing scenes in Ballymena yesterday evening during which PSNI officers were injured, residents terrorised, and properties damaged. There is absolutely no place in our society for such disorder and there can be no justification for it." The police service said its officers came under "sustained attack" from masked rioters and had items like fireworks, petrol bombs, bricks, and heavy masonry launched at them in the June unrest. PSNI Assistant Chief Constable Ryan Henderson said the violence was a result of "racist thuggery, pure and simple".

Domestic bully who punched partner while she breast-fed child is spared jail

District Judge Nigel Broderick had told the 27-year-old 'there is every reason why you should go straight to prison.' This is the domestic thug and bully who has narrowly escaped going to jail for what a judge said was 'truly appalling behaviour' to his partner. Having heard that Vladot Gabriel Gramada had repeatedly assaulted and bullied his partner, including punching her when she was breast-feeding their child, District Judge Nigel Broderick told the 27-year-old 'there is every reason why you should go straight to prison.' 'It was truly appalling what you did to this victim,' said the judge, 'not on one occasion but on many occasions.' As a direct alternative to prison 'and not without significant hesitation,' Judge Broderick said he was imposing an Enhanced Combination Order of 18 months probation and 100 hours of community service. He warned Romanian national Gramada however, 'you only get one chance - any slip ups, any missed appointments, anything, and you will be brought back to court immediately and you will go straight to prison.' Vladot Gramada At an earlier hearing Gramada, from Slemish Court in Ballymena, entered guilty pleas to a total of 11 offences, committed over a time span between 1 September 2023 and 1 November 2024, including six charges of criminal damage, two counts of common assault and single charges of having a weapon with intent to cause damage, making threats to kill and a 'domestic abuse offence.' In court on Tuesday, a prosecuting lawyer outlined how the victim first contacted police in November last year to report that throughout her 18 month relationship with Gramada, the 27-year-old 'was controlling, kept taking her phone to check through it.' In addition, the victim was also subjected to repeated threats and assaults until she reported the abuse on 2 November last year. She told officers that the day beforehand, she had been getting the baby ready for a bath when Gramada 'demanded that she make him food.' Initially, she told him to go and make something himself as she was busy with the baby but she relented and made him a salad. When she brought it to him however, Gramada 'complained' that it was not good enough and instead, 'he lost his temper, threw the salad bowl and the bowl breaks,' said the lawyer, adding that the baby was in the room at the time. The day before that, the court heard, the victim had been on the bed with the baby, 'letting him play to tire himself out' before bed. Vladot Gramada 'She was on the phone when the defendant came in and accused her of texting other men instead of keeping an eye to the child,' said the prosecutor. There was an argument and as she lay with the baby, holding her arm over to protect him, Gramada 'repeatedly punched her to the leg and knee' and when she reached down to try to block his blows, 'he started to punch her hand.' Gramada again threatened her, 'I'm going to kill you' as he punched her to the legs, standing over her in a threatening stance as she pleaded with him to leave. On 5 October, Gramada started another argument that 'she wasn't making anything for him to eat.' Vladot Gramada Today's News in 90 Seconds - July 16th The court heard that he told her 'if I have a wife, why would I cook for myself' and during that argument, Gramada 'punched the TV in the bedroom.' The prosecutor said that at one point, when the victim was eight months pregnant, 'the defendant had the same argument about cooking food' and he stormed downstairs. When he came back to the bedroom however, 'he had a hatchet in his hand' and he used it to strike the bedroom door. Another argument that bully Gramada started was 'that he doesn't like her working as an Amazon delivery driver because there were other males working there.' Vladot Gramada One of the other charges of criminal damage, the court heard, related to Gramada 'punching the windscreen' of the victim's car, causing £1,000 of damage. Lodging a plea in mitigation, defence counsel Connell Trainor immediately conceded that 'it's a truly appalling set of facts - the custodial threshold is well and truly crossed. He submitted however that Gramada was due credit for his guilty pleas, thereby saving the victim from having to relive her ordeals in the witness box. Mr Trainor said despite the appalling nature of the offending, the pre-sentence report from the Probation Board suggested that Gramada would benefit from an Enhanced Combination Order. In addition to the ECO, Judge Broderick also imposed a two year restraining order in favour of the victim.

Third suspect linked to alleged Ballymena rape fled to Romania, court told

You are advised that you may find some details in this report disturbing. Police have confirmed that they are seeking the extradition of a suspect who fled to Romania over the alleged rape of a schoolgirl in Ballymena. The incident sparked days of race-related anti-immigration rioting in the Co Antrim town, with linked outbreaks of violence in other parts of Northern Ireland. Ballymena Youth Court heard details of the alleged attack for the first time on Wednesday during a bail hearing for a 14-year-old Romanian boy, who cannot be identified because of his age. Another teenager is also in custody charged with the attempted rape. Both deny the charges. The court was told that the school girl was walking along a street in the Co Antrim town on June 7 when she was dragged into a garage and subjected to a violent sex attack by three males. The girl told police that once inside the garage, she claimed, there was two mattresses and she was ordered to get on one. The alleged attack lasted around 10 minutes. The girl was able to get away when the trio fled the scene after hearing voices. Two of the alleged were arrested hours later, the third has since fled to Romania. The bail application was adjourned until August.

Syria's aviation comeback struggles amid regional turmoil

Airlines are worried about the state of Syria's aviation infrastructure and management of the industry. Poor infrastructure, regional conflict, and sporadic Israeli airstrikes are holding back more airlines from returning to Syria, industry officials told Reuters, hampering efforts to rebuild a shattered economy after 14 years of civil war. This month, at least 11 foreign airlines are scheduled to fly into Syria, up from just three a year ago, as sanctions are scaled back following the overthrow of long-time leader Bashar al-Assad in December 2024. These include the world's largest international carrier, Dubai's Emirates, and the first two European Union-based airlines to fly into Syria since 2011: Romania's Dan Air and Greece's Air Mediterranean. But airlines such as Royal Jordanian, FlyDubai, Turkish Airlines, and Qatar Airways last month were forced to cancel many of their recently launched flights as airspace across the Middle East closed to civil air traffic due to air and missile attacks involving Israel, the US, and Iran. There are dangers closer to home, too. Israel carried out strikes against Syrian government forces in southwestern Syria for a second day on Tuesday, vowing to keep the area demilitarized and to protect the Druze minority there. At the same time, airlines are worried about the state of Syria's aviation infrastructure and management of the industry. "Progress is needed in regulatory oversight, infrastructure investment, and compliance with international safety and operational standards," industry body the International Air Transport Association said. Major carriers such as Lufthansa and Air France KLM, which used to fly to Syria pre-war, have visited Damascus airport to assess the infrastructure and former offices, officials at Damascus airport and Syria's aviation regulator told Reuters. However, both airlines told Reuters they had no current interest in resuming flights. Small Romanian airline Dan Air launched its Bucharest to Damascus route last month. "What held back operators until now were the logistical and regulatory complexities," Dan Air CEO Matt Ian David told Reuters, adding that eased sanctions would now make Syria more accessible. Emirates at the end of May resumed flying over Syria for the first time since the civil war, shaving up to an hour off a Dubai to Beirut flight. However, several countries, including the United States and Britain, still advise their airlines to avoid flying over Syria. Europe's aviation regulator EASA says, "there is a risk of both intentional targeting and misidentification of civil aircraft." Syria completely reopened its airspace on June 24, its civil air authority said. Damascus Airport's two runways were damaged during the civil war but have since been repaired. The airport was also looted during the chaos of Assad's fall. Alaa Sallal, director of public relations at Syria's Civil Aviation Authority, told Reuters a number of airlines had been to inspect security and infrastructure at the airport. "The airport's construction was dilapidated, the equipment was worn out and some missing," Sallal said. Radar equipment was lacking, leaving the country reliant on Lebanese or Turkish radar to monitor air traffic, he said. The head of Syria's General Authority for Civil Aviation earlier this month said it wanted to build new airports in Damascus, Aleppo, and in the country's central region. But that will take time and money that the war-ravaged country may struggle to find on its own. Airlines to resume flights under al-Sharaa's leadership The mostly Iranian and Iraqi carriers that served Syria through its long conflict have largely stopped flying there, reflecting a new political landscape after Iran- and Russia-backed Assad's overthrow. The flag carriers of Qatar and Turkey, countries that backed Syria's rebels through the war, were the first big airlines to resume flights in January under President Ahmed al-Sharaa's new leadership. Turkey, a close ally of the new government, has been helping improve Syria's airports, its transport ministry has said. Emirates, which resumes its Dubai-Damascus route from Wednesday for the first time since 2012, said flights would support ties with the United Arab Emirates and help Syria attract investment. Saudi budget carrier flyadeal has said it also wants to start flying to Syria soon, joining fellow Saudi low-cost airline flynas. For others, though, there may be less incentive to return as even pre-war Syria was not a major market for non-Middle Eastern carriers. Those that did fly there - Russia's Aeroflot, Air France, Lufthansa's Austrian Airways, LOT Polish, IAG's Iberia, Italy's ITA, Czech Airlines, and China Southern - have not yet returned. Despite the recent ramp-up, the number of international flights serving Syria remains well below pre-war levels. Scheduled flights in July were 58% of what they were in July 2010, Cirium data shows. IATA said the easing of sanctions had opened pathways to improved access to aircraft parts, maintenance services and some commercial transactions. However, visa restrictions on Syrian nationals limited passenger mobility and market growth. Solve the daily Crossword
