Jenna and Val posted more photos of Rome on their son's Instagram account. He can be seen posing on the red carpet with friend Nikita Pashkova, daughter of fellow DWTS pros Daniella Karagach Pashkova and Pasha Pashkov. In the photos and videos on Rome's Instagram, Rome and Nikita hold hands and adorably pose for the camera, Nikita in a little knit outfit and a purple lei, perfect for Lilo and Stitch. Castle Huntly prisoners to work for Tayside Contracts across Dundee
Castle Huntly prisoners are to be given work placements across Dundee shortly before release. Tayside Contracts is one of more than 70 firms that has entered into a partnership with the prison. But the contractor insists the prisoners will not work in or around schools or anywhere requiring PVG (protecting vulnerable groups) clearance. The project is designed to support the rehabilitation of low-risk prisoners towards the end of their sentences. The work is expected to significantly enhance their chances to get work and integrate back into society. It's also designed to reduce the risk of reoffending. Tayside Contracts will provide work experience in a range of sectors, including construction, facilities management, and catering. The placements are designed to offer structured, meaningful work opportunities that build skills, foster personal responsibility and prepare individuals for life beyond prison. However, Tayside Contracts, which provides services in many of the region's schools, insists no prisoners would be placed in schools or any location where PVG checks are required. In addition, the firm told The Courier that full risk assessments would be undertaken by the Scottish Prison Service and Tayside Contracts prior to all placements. Tayside Contracts joint committee convener Steven Rome said: 'Research consistently shows that access to employment is one of the key factors in successful rehabilitation. 'By offering low-risk prisoners the chance to work with an established, reputable employer the partnership helps bridge the gap between the prison environment and gaining fulfilling employment.' The contractor says it plans to work with all participants to ensure they gain the skills needed for long-term employment. Councillor Rome, who represents Dundee North East (SNP), added: 'The partnership is a reflection of Tayside Contracts' ongoing commitment to making a positive impact in the community, whilst providing second chances for those looking to turn their lives around'. Marcus Whitehead, head of offender outcomes at HMP Castle Huntly said it was expanding the range of work placements available. He said: 'Work placements are crucial for people in custody as they allow for a managed and supported reintegration into the community. 'This ultimately gives them a better chance for success when they are released.'

Italy offers to treat boy who survived Israeli strike that killed his nine siblings
ROME, May 29 (Reuters) - Italy's government on Thursday offered to treat a Palestinian child who survived an Israeli military strike in Gaza in which nine of his siblings died, heeding an appeal from the boy's uncle. "The Italian Government has expressed its willingness to transfer the seriously injured boy to Italy," the foreign ministry said in a statement, adding that it was studying the feasibility of the operation. The boy, Adam Al-Najjar, is in serious condition in Nasser Hospital, one of the few medical facilities still operating in southern Gaza, following the May 25 strike on his home in which he lost his siblings. His parents are both doctors. His father, Hamdi Al-Najjar, was at home with the children and was also seriously hurt. He is being treated in the same hospital as his son, and where his wife Alaa works. Adam's uncle, Ali Al-Najjar, told Italy's la Repubblica newspaper that the 11-year-old boy has burns on his body, head injuries, a broken left hand and is not able to walk, and that the Nasser Hospital is ill-equipped to treat him. "He needs to be taken away immediately, to a real hospital, outside of the Gaza Strip. I beg the Italian government to do something, take him, Italians save him," he said.

At Dior Cruise 2026 in Rome, Peter Philips Gave Models a Hauntingly Beautiful Pearlescent Glow
Courtesy of Dior In the breathtaking gardens of the Villa Albani Torlonia on May 27, fashion's finest gathered to watch the Dior Cruise 2026 show after a picture-perfect, blue sky day in Rome. But just as the models hit the catwalk, the skies opened and poured rain, adding a touch of auspicious drama to the moment. Quite fitting, considering Maria Grazia Chiuri's inspiration for the collection was ghosts and the history of cinema in Rome, a veritable love letter to her native city for what turned out to be her final show after nine years. Inside the Beauty Look The beauty look by Peter Philips followed suit. 'This show is an interaction between living personalities and ghosts,' the creative and image director for Christian Dior Makeup says backstage. 'The girls are made up almost in a ghost way, but not in a scary way,' he confides, noting that he wanted to give a preternaturally smooth, luminous finish to skin akin to the marble statues that add a knowing character to the Eternal City To get the 'very pure, quintessentially clean and nude' look, the makeup guru subtly highlighted eyes while playing up a pearlescent complexion. Skin prep was key. First, he smoothed the eye area by popping on the Dior Eye Patches for ten minutes before applying Dior Capture Le Sérum to hyper-moisturize. Tone was evened out with Dior Forever Skin Perfect foundation stick. Getting Their Glow On He then added 'a bit of highlight' to the center of each eye with the champagne shade in the new Diorshow 5 Couleurs compact in 557 Brown Cashemire. A stroke of Diorshow On Stage Crayon in 594 Brown along the roots of lashes provided a touch of definition, just 'a little bit of brown trail.' He says. A dab of Dior Forever Glow Luminizer in 06 Opal Sequin on cheekbones and high points heightened the decidedly buffed luminosity. On lips, Philips chose a slick of Dior Addict Lip Butter in 103 Toffee, since it has 'no pearlescent' quality but simply a sheen to offset the iridescence on skin. A Crown Affair As for the hair at Dior Cruise 2026, Guido Paulo styled braided chignons. 'The shape of the hair is very much like a Roman sculpture,' Philips says. Think 'Roman ladies in toga-style dresses.' The woven updos proved to be the perfect expression of Roman beauty — and perfectly rain-proof when the weather threw a curveball. Time to Party After the show, the rain stopped — perhaps by divine intervention. Guests then floated their way through the gardens to bartenders flowing champagne into cut crystal coups while a string quartet played. The theatrical vibe of the evening continued as fashion's most formidable mingled with celebs and friends of the house including Rachel Brosnahan, Alexandra Daddario, Sarah Catherine Hook, Liza Koshy and Style Not Com's Beka Gvishiani over plates of pasta and braesola with parmesan. The revelry continued well into the night; an ethereal spirit seen through Maria Grazia Chiuri's lens was in the air — a very fitting finale for the Italian design legend who championed feminism and following one's art… with heart.

Italy calls Council of Europe 'shameful' after warning on police racism
ROME, May 29 (Reuters) - Italy lashed out at the Council of Europe on Thursday and defended its police after the European human rights body named Italy among countries where racist conduct among law enforcers was a problem. In presenting its 2025 annual report on Wednesday, the head of the Council's Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) urged Italy to launch an independent enquiry into evidence that its police disproportionately targeted immigrants. Bertil Cottier said so-called "racial profiling", by which the police stop people on the basis of their skin colour or presumed nationality or religion, appeared to be an issue in Italy and called on the government to look into it. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and her deputy Matteo Salvini, who both lead far-right parties that base their appeal on law-and-order and the fight against illegal immigration, bluntly dismissed the suggestion. "ECRI's words, accusing the Italian police of racism, are simply shameful," Brothers of Italy chief Meloni posted on social media platform X on Wednesday. League leader Salvini doubled down on Thursday, telling reporters in Rome that the anti-racism panel "should be ashamed," and calling it "another useless body paid for by Italian and European citizens, that produces rubbish in return." The head of state Sergio Mattarella summoned Italy's police chief for a meeting on Thursday, "to re-confirm the admiration and trust of the country in its law enforcers." The Council of Europe did not respond to a request for comment. The Strasbourg-based organisation, which has 46 member states, was founded in 1949 to promote democracy and human rights in the continent. The latest ECRI report was an overview of its activities in 2024 and did not specifically discuss the Italian situation. However, in ECRI's latest country-specific report in October, it flagged "numerous accounts of racial profiling by law enforcement officials, targeting especially Roma and people of African descent" in Italy.
