Arsenal pair set for Brighton loan
Michelle Agyemang and Rosa Kafaji are both expected to join Brighton & Hove Albion on loan for the 2025–26 season. The moves are viewed internally as key developmental steps for two of Arsenal's most highly rated young attacking players. For Agyemang, the return to Brighton would mark a continuation of the path that led to her becoming one of English football's breakout stars. The 19-year-old forward, who made her senior England debut earlier this year and scored within 41 seconds, became a national sensation during UEFA Women's Euro 2025, scoring vital late equalisers in both the quarter-final and semi-final. Despite not starting a match, she was named UEFA's Young Player of the Tournament, with England captain Leah Williamson calling her a player who 'deserves her flowers'. Photo byLast season, Agyemang made her WSL breakthrough with Brighton and a second year on the south coast is seen as the logical next phase in her development while she waits for an attacking space at Arsenal to open up at the end of next season. Rosa Kafaji, meanwhile, is expected to join her following a stop-start first campaign in England. The 22-year-old Swedish international arrived at Arsenal from BK Häcken in 2024 and made 19 appearances in all competitions, but an ankle injury suffered in the Champions League semi-final second leg against Lyon cut her season short and ruled her out of Sweden's Euro 2025 campaign. Photo byArsenal remain confident in her long-term potential and see the Brighton loan as an ideal route to increase her consistency and conditioning at a competitive level. She has already held talks with the Seagulls after visiting their training ground at the end of last month. With Brighton expected to give both players prominent roles should the moves complete, Arsenal will be watching closely as two of the most promising attacking prospects in the women's game prepare for what could be defining seasons in their early careers.

Denmark v Sweden: Women's Euro 2025
Update: Date: 2025-07-04T14:58:42.000Z Title: Early team news: Content: Sweden's promising young midfielder Rosa Kafaji will miss the tournament after undergoing surgery on an ankle injury she picked up in April. The 21-year-old has struggled for game time since moving to Arsenal from Hacken but has been earmarked as one for the future by her manager Reneee Slegers. Barcelona left-back Fridolina Rolfo has travelled with the Sweden squad but there are slight concerns over her fitness after she damaged ligaments in her foot last month. In the extremely likely event that Kosovare Asllani features tonight, she will make her 200th appearance for her country. Denmark have a comparatively clean bill of health and their manager Andre Jeglertz is likely to set out his stall with three at the back, while a potent looking front three should be comprised of Bayer Munich's Pernille Harder, Bayer Leverkusen's Cornelia Kramer and Real Madrid's Signe Bruun. Update: Date: 2025-07-04T14:57:25.000Z Title: Group C: Sweden v Denmark Content: With a player of the quality of Pernille Harder in their ranks, it's no surprise our Euro 25 guide to Denmark says they 'have the quality to beat anyone'. Unfortunately for the Danes, their most recent match was a month ago against tonight's opponents in the Nations League and they were battered 6-1. It is an embarrassment they will be hoping to put behind them as they attempt to avoid an unwanted recent hat-trick of consecutive defeats against Sweden. While Denmark qualified for this tournament by winning top spot in their qualification group ahead of Belgium and the Czech Republic, Sweden were forced to enter through the back door after finishing third in their group. They went on to score 20 goals without reply across playoff ties against Luxembourg and Serbia, and have since beaten Norway in a warm-up game. They go into tonight's match at the Stade de Geneve on a 12-match unbeaten streak. Kick-off in Switzerland is at 5pm (BST) but stay tuned in the meantime for team news and build-up.

Arsenal XI vs Barcelona: Confirmed team news, predicted lineup, injury latest for Women's Champions League final
Renee Slegers has a couple of big decisions to make when naming the Arsenal team to face Barcelona in the Women's Champions League final. The first of which is who gets the nod in between the posts. Daphne van Domselaar returned from injury for the semi-final second leg victory against Lyon but hasn't featured since because of a niggling ankle issue. Van Domselaar has trained this week in a bid to prove her fitness ahead of the final and is expected to start, though Manuela Zinsberger is on standby to deputise once again, though she has conceded 12 goals in her last three appearances. Slegers confirmed ahead of the match that her squad has close to a perfect bill of health, saying: 'We have a great squad and a lot of players available. The only player not available tomorrow is Rosa Kafaji.' Chloe Kelly and Beth Mead are battling for a spot on the right-hand side of the attack. The pair have often rotated in this competition and that logic suggests the latter will be picked after Kelly started the second leg win over Lyon. The rest of Sleger's XI is fairly easy to predict. Women's Super League Player of the Year Mariona Caldentey is set to start in midfield against her former club, Leah Williamson lines up in defence, Alessia Russo leads the line and Kim Little captains the side. Predicted Arsenal XI: Van Domselaar; Fox, Williamson, Catley, McCabe; Maanum, Little, Mariona; Mead, Russo, Foord Injured: Rosa Kafaji Time and date: 5pm BST on Saturday May 24, 2025 How to watch: TNT Sports and DAZN Venue: Estádio José Alvalade, Lisbon

Slegers confirms only one absence for Champions League final – and urges her Arsenal side to show courage against Barcelona
Slegers confirms only one absence for Champions League final – and urges her Arsenal side to show courage against Barcelona Arsenal Women head coach Renee Slegers says Rosa Kafaji will be the only absentee for Saturday's Champions League final against Barcelona. The Gunners take on the reigning champions in Lisbon on Saturday night, and providing a team news update, Slegers said: 'We have a great squad and a lot of players available. The only player not available tomorrow is Rosa Kafaji.' Advertisement Slegers is aware of the huge challenge that awaits Arsenal but is confident her side can cause an upset. 'We want to show courage tomorrow,' she said. 'Like I said, we respect Barca as a team. They are a really good football team so we are humble but we are here to win. 'We have to find ways to win and I am confident that the game will shift in momentum and for us it's going to be important that we deal with all moments really well. 'We need courage, discipline, we need to be switched on. If we do that really well, we can perform really well. We have belief in our capacity tomorrow. 'If you put everything in perspective, where we came from this season, putting ourselves in a position to play this game tomorrow is so much work. Advertisement 'That is us, it is all of the people that have done this for such a long time. We are so proud what all of us are going to do this tomorrow and we are going to go all in.' Gunners skipper Kim Little, meanwhile, spoke of her pride at leading the team out as the club look to win their first Champions League title since 2007. 'It's incredibly special to be here,' she said. 'After 2007 and all the club has done since then to be one of the driving forces in women's football, it is so special to be here and to lead the club in this really special occasion. 'The connection and belief we have with each other. Even when we are not at the top level we know we can get there. That is the thing of any great team. 'You can't play at the top of your game every second but what makes us such a great team, that is a really good trait to have and we have shown that on many occasions.'
