ExaGrid Announces Support of Rubrik
ExaGrid announced its Tiered Backup Storage appliances can now be used as a target for Rubrik backup software, and with advanced data deduplication, will lower the cost of storing backups using the Rubrik Archive Tier or Rubrik Archive Tier with Instant Archive enabled as compared to storing the data in the Cloud or to an on-premise traditional storage. Rubrik has a feature-rich product with many capabilities. ExaGrid adds to the Rubrik value proposition by improving the storage economics of Rubrik environments by working with Rubrik compression and deduplication and can achieve an additional reduction of 3:1 to 10:1 in addition to Rubrik's compression and encryption, further reducing storage by as much as 90%. The combined deduplication ratio ranges from 6:1 to 20:1, depending on the retention length and data types. Advantages of using ExaGrid Tiered Backup Storage with Rubrik: Significant savings for onsite and offsite storage and associated costs Use less WAN bandwidth to the disaster recovery (DR) site Fast disaster recovery from an on-premise data center versus the Cloud Faster restores from archive data at the primary site versus the Cloud Non-network-facing Repository Tier (tiered air gap) with a delayed delete policy and immutable data objects ensure data is ready to restore after a ransomware attack — a second layer of protection behind Rubrik's ransomware recovery solution 'We are pleased to announce support of Rubrik, and to offer Rubrik users a huge savings for the long-term retention of backup data. Rubrik customers tend to store a couple of weeks' worth of retention locally to Rubrik and then store longer-term retention to the Cloud, which can be very expensive. The ExaGrid solution dramatically lowers those storage costs and allows for much quicker archive data restores for user productivity. We also bring another layer of ransomware recovery in addition to the ransomware recovery that Rubrik provides,' said Bill Andrews, President and CEO of ExaGrid. 'We continue to innovate our Tiered Backup Storage to offer the most integrations with 25+ industry-leading backup applications. We are excited to work with our channel partners to offer better backup storage for their Rubrik customers who are shocked at the high costs of cloud storage or are looking for better on-premise storage solutions.'

Rubrik advances new data security for AWS Cloud Databases
Dubai, United Arab Emirates. — Rubrik (NYSE: RBRK), the cybersecurity company, today announced a significant expansion of its data protection services, which provides an additional layer of defense in depth for Amazon DynamoDB and Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL. As the volume of data continues to grow at an unprecedented scale, it exposes organizations to substantial data security gaps, increased risk of cyber threats, and stringent compliance requirements. To help Rubrik customers address these challenges, Rubrik unveiled new upcoming support for Amazon DynamoDB, and launched a proprietary cyber resilience offering for relational databases, beginning with Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL. This move strengthens Rubrik's leadership in cloud data protection, directly meeting customer demand for high performance and cost-effective resilience and security for their mission-critical databases. Customers will benefit from a unified platform that simplifies operations, lowers cloud backup costs, and offers immutable protection by default. "As organizations entrust their most critical data and applications with cloud database services, it's crucial to have secure and cost-effective protection in place," said Anneka Gupta, Chief Product Officer at Rubrik. "Extending our cloud database protection to Amazon DynamoDB and deepening our capabilities for Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL is a testament to our ongoing innovation and strategic partnership with AWS. Together, we can help our customers become truly cyber resilient.' Comprehensive Protection for Amazon DynamoDB Rubrik is extending its data protection offerings to Amazon DynamoDB, AWS's flagship serverless, distributed NoSQL database service, with a single, policy-driven console that automates everything from backup scheduling and immutability to complex cross-account recovery—a process that is often manual, intricate, and tedious. Centralized visibility and control: For customers who choose not to use AWS native services, Rubrik provides a unified dashboard to monitor and discover all DynamoDB instances across connected AWS accounts and regions. Cost reduction: Rubrik enables storage-efficient, incremental-forever backups and provides the flexibility to choose from a full range of Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) storage classes, including Amazon S3 Standard, S3 Standard-Infrequent Access, S3 One Zone-Infrequent Access, S3 Glacier Instant Retrieval, S3 Glacier Flexible Retrieval, and S3 Glacier Deep Archive. Cyber Resilience Offering for Amazon RDS The new offering is engineered specifically for relational databases, launching first with support for Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL. Immutable protection without additional infrastructure: Ensure database backups are both unchangeable and undeletable without the need for additional vault configurations or multi-service architectures to enhance cyber resilience. Simplified and unified operations: For customers who choose not to use AWS native services, the Rubrik platform is designed to provide a centralized management view of RDS backup information across multiple AWS regions and accounts. About Rubrik Rubrik (NYSE: RBRK) is on a mission to secure the world's data. Rubrik boosts AWS database security with DynamoDB, RDS tools
Rubrik has announced new support for Amazon DynamoDB and released a cyber resilience solution for relational databases, initially focusing on Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL. The expansion of Rubrik's data protection services on AWS aims to provide additional security layers for customers handling growing data volumes in cloud environments. The announced offerings are designed to address data security gaps, mitigate the risk of cyber threats, and help meet compliance requirements by automating backup, ensuring data immutability, and streamlining recovery operations. Services overview Rubrik's extension to Amazon DynamoDB provides customers with a single policy-driven console that handles backup scheduling and cross-account recovery processes. Automation of these processes, often seen as complex and manual, intends to lower the burden on IT teams and standardise protection across environments. For Amazon RDS users, Rubrik is launching a proprietary cyber resilience solution, with support for PostgreSQL. The company states that this approach eliminates the need for extra infrastructure to maintain immutable, undeletable backups, allowing databases to be continuously protected regardless of architecture complexity. As organisations entrust their most critical data and applications with cloud database services, it's crucial to have secure and cost-effective protection in place. Extending our cloud database protection to Amazon DynamoDB and deepening our capabilities for Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL is a testament to our ongoing innovation and strategic partnership with AWS. Together, we can help our customers become truly cyber resilient. The new solutions are intended to simplify management of AWS cloud database environments through centralised dashboards, offering unified views and control, particularly for customers who opt out of AWS's native data protection services. Amazon DynamoDB protection Rubrik's support for Amazon DynamoDB incorporates centralised visibility, which enables discovery and monitoring of DynamoDB instances across multiple AWS accounts and regions. This is particularly significant for organisations managing large, distributed deployments in the cloud. Rubrik's platform allows for incremental-forever backups, which are designed to minimise storage consumption and associated costs. Customers can select from a range of Amazon S3 storage classes including S3 Standard, S3 Standard-Infrequent Access, S3 One Zone-Infrequent Access, S3 Glacier Instant Retrieval, S3 Glacier Flexible Retrieval, and S3 Glacier Deep Archive. This flexibility aims to increase cost efficiency for long-term data retention and compliance. Cyber resilience for Amazon RDS The proprietary cyber resilience solution for Amazon RDS offers immutable protection, ensuring backups cannot be altered or deleted. The platform does not require additional vault configurations or the combination of multiple services to achieve immutability, reducing operational complexity. Operations management for Amazon RDS on PostgreSQL is consolidated into one interface, allowing organisations to maintain visibility and control of backup information across different regions and AWS accounts. This centralised approach targets organisations seeking alternatives to AWS's native tools, aiming to streamline compliance and recovery processes. Customer benefits Rubrik claims the new features will help customers reduce operational risk while simplifying management and minimising cloud costs. The unified platform approach is also designed to bring consistency across diverse and highly distributed AWS environments, addressing both security and operational requirements. The expanded support responds to increased adoption of cloud-based database services, and recognises the challenges organisations face in securing such resources at scale. All of Rubrik's newly announced or upcoming capabilities have been designed with the intent to help organisations address growing data security challenges presented by increased cloud adoption and the prevalence of cyber threats. They are delivered with a focus on automation and central management to aid enterprises in achieving cyber resilience without adding architectural complexity.
