CM Vishnu Deo Sai leads Kanwar Yatra, performs Rudrabhishek in Raipur

In a profound display of spiritual devotion and cultural pride, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai joined thousands of devotees in the grand Kanwar Yatra in Raipur's Gudhiyari area during the auspicious month of Sawan. The CM also performed Rudrabhishek at the Hatkeshwarnath Mahadev Temple, praying for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the people of Chhattisgarh. The yatra commenced from Maruti Mangalam Bhavan, Gudhiyari, and culminated at the revered Hatkeshwarnath Mahadev Temple at Mahadev Ghat. Devotees, carrying ornately decorated Kanwars filled with sacred water, walked in unison, chanting hymns and showcasing artistic tableaux that added colour and spiritual fervour to the occasion. Speaking at the event, CM Vishnu Deo Sai said, 'Today, a sea of devotees walked in faith and celebration. The Kanwar Yatra reflects the rich cultural fabric and folk beliefs of Chhattisgarh. It is a vibrant symbol of devotion to Lord Shiva and a living expression of our traditional heritage.' He highlighted the spiritual significance of the Hatkeshwarnath Mahadev Temple and said that such festivals not only preserve religious customs but also promote social harmony and community bonding. The spiritual atmosphere was further heightened by the presence of several prominent leaders and dignitaries, including Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, former Governor Ramesh Bais, Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, Women & Child Development Minister Lakshmi Rajwade, MP Brijmohan Agrawal, MLAs from various Raipur constituencies, former MP Abhishek Singh, and Raipur Mayor Meenal Chaubey. The CM's active participation and heartfelt prayers added momentum to the religious gathering, reaffirming his commitment to cultural preservation and the spiritual upliftment of Chhattisgarh.

Shiva temples across Uttar Pradesh witnessed a huge rush of devotees on the fourth and final Monday of the holy month of Shravan, with chants of "Har Har Mahadev" and "Bam Bam Bhole" echoing in the air. In Varanasi, thousands of devotees queued up since early morning to offer prayers at the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham, where the idol of Lord Shiva was adorned with Rudraksha on the auspicious day. Varanasi Mayor Ashok Tiwari welcomed devotees by showering flower petals on them at the temple premises. The temple trust said extensive arrangements were in place to ensure a smooth and safe darshan experience, including drinking water counters, medical help desks, lost-and-found centres, and security checkpoints. Despite intermittent rains in Sambhal, prominent temples including the Mouchhon Wale Shiva Temple in Chandausi, Saadat Badi Pataleshwar in Bahjoi and the Kartikeya Mahadev Temple, which was opened for devotees after 46 years -- saw significant footfall. Thousands of kanwariyas, carrying gangajal from Rajghat, Narora, Haridwar, and Brijghat offered it at local temples. Roads across districts reverberated with religious slogans as devotees made their way to temples for the concluding Monday of the Shravan month. Police personnel were deployed in large numbers to manage the crowds and ensure security. A local Manoj Gupta said he, along with 21 couples, performed Rudrabhishek at Chamunda Temple. "Even the rain couldn't dampen our spirits," said another devotee, Bhuvanesh Kumar Varshney, who attended the morning prayers at Chandausi despite the drizzle. In Lucknow, there was a huge crowd at Mankeshwar temple amid rains.

1 2 Gorakhpur : Chief Minister and Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath performed Rudrabhishek at the ancient Mansarovar Temple in Gorakhpur's Andhiyari Bagh on the occasion of Shrawan Shivratri on Wednesday. The CM prayed for the well-being, peace, and prosperity of the people of the state. The rituals were performed on the Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha of the Shrawan month. The CM offered bilva leaves, lotus, durva grass, water, cow milk, and sugarcane juice while performing the abhishek amid vedic mantras by scholars from Gorakhnath Temple. The rituals concluded with havan and aarti. Head priest of Gorakhnath temple Yogi Kamalnath, MP Ravi Kishan, mayor Manglesh Srivastava, MLA Vipin Singh, MLC Dharmendra Singh and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. Meanwhile, in a unique gesture to honour devotees, flowers were showered on the devotees in Gorakhpur and Sant Kabir Nagar. Acting on the CM's directives, a helicopter was deployed to shower flower petals over the sea of devotees at temples including Gorakhnath temple, Manasrovar temple, Mukteshwar Nath temple, Jharkhandi Mahadev temple, Munjeshwar Nath temple (Bhauvapar), Mateshwar Shiv temple (Pipraich), and Tameshwar Nath temple in Sant Kabir Nagar. This aerial tribute is a part of the state's broader Shrawan initiative aiming to ensure smooth arrangements for pilgrims while showing respect for their devotion.

Gorakhpur: In the spiritual month of Sawan, dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Uttar Pradesh government went beyond traditional arrangements at Shiva temples to honour the devotees in a special way. A grand flower shower was organised on the auspicious occasion of Sawan Shivratri, which saw helicopters showering petals on major Shiva temples in Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar and other places, offering a heartfelt tribute to the unwavering faith of thousands of worshippers. Similar aerial flower showers were also carried out across various locations in Uttar Pradesh during the Sawan month to honour 'Kanwariyas' and Lord Shiva devotees. In Gorakhpur, the flower shower from helicopters was conducted over prominent temples, including the Gorakhnath Temple, the ancient Mansarovar Temple, Mukteshwar Nath Temple, Jharkhandi Mahadev Temple, Munjeshwar Nath Temple in Bhauwapar, Moteshwar Shiva Temple in Pipraich, and the Tameshwar Nath Temple in Sant Kabir Nagar, creating a deeply spiritual and memorable experience for the worshippers. Earlier in the day, the Goraksha Peethadhishwar and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed Rudrabhishek at the ancient Mansarovar Temple in Andhiyari Bagh, where he invoked blessings from Lord Shiva for the happiness and prosperity of the state residents. CM Yogi performed Rudrabhishek with water, cow milk, and sugarcane juice, and offered sacred items such as bilva patra, lotus flowers, durva grass, and various other traditional offerings to Mahadev. The ritual was conducted by the learned priests of the Gorakhnath Temple, who chanted the Mahamantras from the Rudrashtadhyayi of the Shukla Yajurveda Samhita. Following the Rudrabhishek, the Chief Minister performed havan and aarti, accompanied by the resonant chanting of Vedic mantras. He prayed to Mahadev for a life of good health, happiness, prosperity, and peace for the people of the state.
