Taylor Swift And Blake Lively Reportedly Aren't Speaking
It sure seems like the fallout from Taylor Swift being subpoenaed in Blake Lively's lawsuit against Justin Baldoni is continuing. You might remember that, back in May of this year, reports emerged that Taylor and Blake's famous friendship — the former literally named a song after one of Blake's children, for Christ's sake — had "halted" after Taylor had become temporarily involved, seemingly against her will, in Blake's legal battle against Justin. "Taylor wants no part in this drama," a source told People at the time, while another source added that the pair "taking some space" from each other for the time being — but, also, that they're "not no longer friends," which is a fairly important distinction to make. Of course, you're also probably aware that Taylor's upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl features a song called "Ruin the Friendship," which people are already speculating is about a presumed falling-out with Blake. And while there's no official confirmation that the song is concerning itself with that topic, a new report from People suggests that Blake and Taylor's friendship is still not going very well at the moment. "Taylor and Blake aren't speaking," the source tells the publication. Yikes! These reports usually come with a bit more to them, but that's pretty much it for the moment, which We've reached out to Blake and Taylor's reps for comment, and we'll let you know if we hear back.

Is Taylor Swift's new song about Blake Lively?
Taylor Swift and Blake Lively, once one of Hollywood's most famous best friend duos, are reportedly no longer on speaking terms. The shift in their friendship comes at a time when Swift is preparing to release her highly anticipated new album The Life of a Showgirl, set for October, and speculation is mounting that one of its tracks may shed light on their current rift. According to People, a source close to the pair has revealed that the two have not been communicating in recent months. Their friendship, which dates back to 2014, first faced public scrutiny when Swift's name became tied to Blake Lively's legal battle with her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni. Baldoni's team at one point alleged that Swift had influenced him to accept rewrites proposed by Lively, a claim later dismissed. Although Swift was eventually dropped from the case after a subpoena was withdrawn, her name had already become entangled in the ongoing feud. Swift's representatives argued at the time that her involvement was used merely to generate tabloid headlines rather than to address facts in the case. Now, attention has turned to Swift's upcoming single Ruin the Friendship, which appears on her new record. Fans online are speculating that the song is inspired by her deteriorating relationship with Lively. The timing of the track announcement, just as rumours of a fallout surfaced, has only fuelled further theories across social media. The friendship between the pop icon and the actress once seemed unshakable. Swift is godmother to Lively and Ryan Reynolds' children, and their daughter James famously featured on Swift's Reputation track Gorgeous, while all three of their daughters were name-checked on her album Folklore. While neither Swift nor Lively has directly commented on the state of their relationship, multiple sources suggest the two are not in the same place they once were. Whether Ruin the Friendship offers clues remains to be seen, but Swift's fans are already dissecting every lyric ahead of the album's October 3 release.

Is Taylor Swift's new album throwing shade at Blake Lively? Swifties think yes, so here's everything to know
Taylor Swift is ready to dazzle once again! The pop icon's 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, drops October 3, and while it's brimming with glamorous, cinematic flair inspired by her Eras Tour, fans think a certain track could be less about glitter and more about grudges. Taylor Swift's new album cover for Life of a Showgirl; Taylor Swift and Blake Lively Swift announced the album during an August 2025 appearance on New Heights, chatting with co-hosts Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce — her boyfriend since 2023 — and instantly set the internet ablaze. Within hours, Swifties were combing through the release date (just two days before Travis's birthday) for clues. That night, she also revealed the cover art: a collage-style shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott featuring Swift in a silver beaded bra top, bracelets, and partially submerged in water, surrounded by turquoise and orange tones — colours she's been teasing all era. But amidst all the shimmer, one song title has sparked a frenzy: Ruin the Friendship. The track's placement as number six on the album, combined with recent headlines, has fans buzzing about whether Swift is taking aim at her longtime pal Blake Lively. 'Who else thinks Ruin The Friendship and CANCELLED! are about Blake Lively Taylor wrote one fan on X. Another chimed in, 'Taylor Swift's ruin the friendship has to be about Blake Lively.' And then there's the blunt: 'If there is a song on Taylor swifts new album about Blake lively… it's probably the first one.' Their speculation isn't entirely unfounded. PEOPLE reported in May that the two women's decade-long friendship hit a rocky patch amid Lively's legal battle with Justin Baldoni. Things escalated when Baldoni's legal team served Swift with a subpoena, prompting her to back away from the drama. Sources claimed Swift was rattled after being mentioned in a text Lively sent, allegedly calling her one of her 'dragons.' While the insider stressed their friendship isn't over, it has 'halted' — and the subpoena, served on May 8, 'fractured' the fragile peace between them. Given Swift's history of channelling real-life rifts into chart-topping anthems, fans are preparing for The Life of a Showgirl to be both a glittery spectacle and, perhaps, a carefully choreographed clapback.

Taylor Swift's new song fuels speculation of a rift with Blake Lively amid ongoing legal drama
The lyrics of a Taylor Swift song are causing controversy once more, but this time, it has nothing to do with an ex. Rather, her new song 'Ruin the Friendship,' which will be on her upcoming album Life of a Showgirl, is seen by fans as a sign that her close relationship with actress Blake Lively may be coming to an end. Since 2014, the two major Hollywood figures have been inseparable; Swift even mentions Lively and Ryan Reynolds' kids in her songs. Additionally, Lively had publicly stated Swift to be her daughters' godmother. However, according to recent reports, their friendship has reportedly soured heavily since Swift became involved in legal issues involving Lively's co-star Justin Baldoni from 'It Ends With Us.' A Rift Caused by Legal Issues Several reports claim that Swift's disagreement with Lively sparked the fallout after he was requested by Baldoni's legal team. The singer, according to sources, never intended to be involved, but the subpoena dragged her into the public eye. Being forced into the war against his will was a tipping point for Swift. The singer of Bad Karma was "deeply hurt" by the incident, according to insiders close to her, and their friendship suffered even though Lively allegedly attempted to protect her from the legal drama. The two have reportedly "halted" their friendship completely or are "taking some space" from one another, according to media outlets. Swift and Lively may never be as close as they once were, but some reports suggest that they are trying to fix their relationship despite rumors of a permanent split. Is Blake Lively the True Cause of Ruining the Friendship? Swifties analyzed the lyrics for hidden meanings and instantly connected Ruin the Friendship to the Lively fallout. Industry insiders, however, claim that the song was actually written months prior, during the Eras Tour's London stop, long before Swift was mentioned in Baldoni's lawsuit. Fans keep thinking that Swift is conveying her pain over losing a long-standing bond because of the song's profound tone. All that is evident is that Swift and Lively's friendship, which appeared to be unbreakable at one point, has encountered difficulties. Fans won't know until Life of a Showgirl is released on October 3, 2025, whether Ruin the Friendship is an intentional reference to that separation or merely a coincidence. Taylor Swift's New Song Sparks Rumours Of Rift With Blake Lively Amid Legal Drama
Last Updated: Taylor Swift's track Ruin the Friendship fuels speculation it's about her fallout with Blake Lively during the actress' legal battle with Justin Baldoni. Taylor Swift's lyrics are once again sparking debate, but this time the chatter isn't about an ex. Instead, fans are convinced that her new song Ruin the Friendship, featured on her upcoming album Life of a Showgirl, points to the end of her once-close bond with actress Blake Lively. The two Hollywood powerhouses had been inseparable since 2014, with Swift even naming Lively and Ryan Reynolds' children in her music. Lively had also publicly declared Swift the godmother to her daughters. But recent reports suggest that their friendship has cooled dramatically after Swift became entangled in legal proceedings connected to Lively's It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni. A Rift Sparked By Legal Troubles According to multiple reports, the fallout began when Swift was subpoenaed by Baldoni's legal team during his dispute with Lively. Sources say the singer never wanted to be involved, but the subpoena forced her into the legal spotlight. For Swift, being unwillingly dragged into the conflict was a breaking point. Insiders close to the Bad Karma singer revealed she was 'deeply hurt" by the situation, and although Lively allegedly tried to shield her from the legal drama, their friendship suffered. Media outlets now claim the pair have either 'halted" their friendship entirely or are 'taking some space" from each other. Despite rumours of a permanent split, some reports hint that Swift and Lively are working to repair their relationship, though it may never return to the closeness they once shared. Is Ruin the Friendship Really About Blake Lively? Swifties immediately linked Ruin the Friendship to the Lively fallout, dissecting lyrics for hidden meanings. However, industry sources say the track was actually written months earlier, during the London leg of the Eras Tour — long before Swift was named in Baldoni's lawsuit. That hasn't stopped speculation, with fans interpreting the emotional tone of the song as evidence that Swift is expressing her pain over losing a long-standing bond. What remains clear is that Swift and Lively's friendship, which once looked unshakable, has hit a rough patch. Whether Ruin the Friendship is a subtle nod to that fracture or just a coincidence, fans will have to wait until Life of a Showgirl releases on October 3, 2025 to decide for themselves.
