Galaxy S25 FE camera specs leak — and it looks pretty disappointing
Another leak, more disappointment for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 FE. Over on X, regular tipster Yogesh Brar posted a simple tweet revealing some specs for the cameras that should feature on Samsung's next budget S-series phone. For those looking for an upgrade, don't expect one. Brar's specs for the rear cameras are the exact same as last year's Samsung Galaxy S24 FE which featured a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra wide and an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. The only update the S25 FE cameras might get is on the front-facing lens which bumps up to 12MP from 10MP. It's unfortunate news coupled with an earlier leak from April that claimed the S25 FE would featuring the same Exynos 2400e as last year's phone. In general, Samsung's FE phones are budget-friendly handsets released a few months after the mainline Galaxy S-series devices. Usually, they offer lower power for a lower price. Last year's S24 FE model though was nearly on a par with the Samsung Galaxy S24 while costing $200 less. So far, the rumor mill is painting a picture of a phone that shares some key components with a phone that already exists. Hopefully, there will be some bigger differences when the phone is expected to launch in October. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE to get an upgraded selfie camera
Vlad, 15 May 2025 Samsung's Galaxy S25 FE is likely still a few months away at this point, given that its predecessor only launched last fall. Even so, we keep hearing new rumors about it - most recently we found out that it could be powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9400 SoC, if we're lucky. If we're not, then it will stick with the Exynos 2400e that was also featured in the S24 FE. Today a new rumor tells us that the S25 FE will come with an upgraded selfie camera. It will be a 12 MP unit, compared to the S24 FE's 10 MP snapper. The new camera may in fact be the same one used by the rest of the Galaxy S25 family. That should make for nicer looking selfies. On the rear, the S25 FE will have a 50 MP main shooter, just like its predecessor. Unfortunately, details about the rest of the cameras haven't been outed yet. The Galaxy S25 FE is said to arrive in September or October, practically a year after the S24 FE. It may launch alongside the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, today's rumor claims, which is intriguing since we assumed the cheaper foldable would share the stage with the Flip7 and Fold7 in July, but maybe not. Perhaps Samsung wants to do an FE-only event in the fall. We'll have to wait and see. Samsung Galaxy S24 FE 128GB 8GB RAM $ 273.29 $ 273.29 256GB 8GB RAM $ 499.50 Source (in Dutch)

Mixed Galaxy S25 FE report calls for a significant camera upgrade and a predictable non-upgrade
With the razor-thin Galaxy S25 Edge fully detailed and put up for pre-order at last, the time has arrived for at least some hardcore Samsung fans to shift their focus to the fifth member of the company's latest high-end handset family. No, that's not the motto of some unusual youth outreach program, but Samsung's expected approach for the entire Galaxy S25 series. That's right, the S25 Fan Edition is very likely to share a 12MP front-facing camera with the "vanilla" Galaxy S25 , as well as the S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge . While that may not sound like a massive improvement over the 10-megapixel snapper found on the front of last year's Galaxy S24 FE (and the S23 FE before it), I'm sure some of you remember the Galaxy S23's leap in real-world selfie quality compared to its own predecessor. The Galaxy S25 FE will reportedly come with the same selfie camera as the Galaxy S25. | Image Credit -- PhoneArena The Galaxy S22, mind you, came with a 10MP front-facing camera, and perhaps most notably, the S22 Ultra rocked a 40MP selfie snapper back in 2022. The S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra moved to a 12MP front cam a year later, highlighting that photography performance is not always about the megapixel count, but also how you use said number. Long story short, you can already check our in-depth Galaxy S25 , S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra reviews for a strong indication of the S25 FE's selfie prowess. In this particular department, Samsung's 2025 affordable powerhouse should (more or less) keep up with the performance of the OnePlus 13R's 16MP and Google Pixel 9a's 13MP front-facing cameras, which unfortunately may not be true from a few other standpoints. You know how 2023's Galaxy S23 FE replaced the S21 FE's unremarkable 12MP primary rear-facing camera with a much better 50MP sensor that the S24 FE then retained in 2024? Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy S25 FE is also expected to come with a 50-megapixel main camera on its back, thus matching both the S25 and S25 Plus. That's obviously a perfectly acceptable figure for a future contender for the best budget 5G phone title, but there's too much mystery surrounding all the other specs to assess this bad boy's value equation as a whole. The S24 FE's triple rear-facing camera system could go completely unchanged on the S25 FE. | Image Credit -- PhoneArena No one knows if the other two S24 FE rear-facing cameras will be upgraded in any way for the S25 FE (probably not), no one has any concrete inside information on things like screen size, battery capacity, or charging speeds, while the processor remains quite possibly the biggest and most important question mark. The folks over at GalaxyClub in the Netherlands, whose sources are often unmatched as far as unreleased Samsung products are concerned, can "neither confirm nor deny" that the Galaxy S25 FE will pack the same underwhelming Exynos 2400e SoC as the S24 FE. This was rumored a little while ago, but with the next addition to Samsung's Fan Edition roster likely to only go official in "late September or early October", the confusion could linger on for a good couple of months or so. Just look at the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and its own ongoing processor debate ahead of a possible July launch.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE wishlist: All the features I want to see
Ryan Haines / Android Authority Galaxy S24 FE The Galaxy S24 FE made a strong impression when it launched last year, offering an excellent display, solid cameras, a durable design, and flagship-level performance. It's only about six months old and still feels fresh, but that doesn't stop me from wondering what the Galaxy S25 FE might bring to the table later this year. With that in mind, let's take at my wishlist for the S25 FE. I don't have many complaints, simply because the current model already nails the essentials without hiking the price or straying too far from its core vision. Some design improvements would go a long way Samsung's FE models tend to follow the visual language of the mainline Galaxy S series, which helps with brand cohesion, but also makes them feel a bit stale. Google proved that a budget flagship doesn't have to mimic its premium sibling to succeed with the recently announced Pixel 9a. In fact, standing out can be a strength. With early rumors pointing to the same chipset as last year, a visual redesign could help the S25 FE stand apart, even if performance remains similar. And it's not just about style, comfort matters too. One of the biggest drawbacks of the S24 FE is its sharp edges, which can dig into your hand during extended use. Sure, a case helps, but it'd be great if Samsung softened the design directly. The main camera package could use some refinement Ryan Haines / Android Authority The S24 FE's camera performs well in most scenarios, but it struggles with motion. As our own reviewer noted, snapping pics of moving subjects often results in noticeable photo blur. This isn't shocking for a budget phone, but it's also not hard to fix. I'm not expecting a major camera overhaul — just better shutter response, which would help it better capture motion. You don't even have to do much else to the camera package here. The existing 50MP wide, 8MP telephoto, and 12MP ultrawide trio already do a pretty solid job. The selfie camera could use some work, too The selfie camera could also use a refresh. The 10MP shooter performs okay indoors but has real issues with bright lighting, often leading to overexposure. Improving dynamic range and exposure tuning would go a long way here. While the Galaxy S24 and S25 both have excellent selfie cameras, it's not just the lenses that make them great. You'll also find autofocus in play. That's not the case for the Galaxy S24 FE, and so I'd like to see this addressed alongside the general issues with the selfie camera experience. I'd like to see better speaker quality Okay, this is admittedly a pretty minor complaint and something that not everyone is going to care about, but I would like to see a better speaker placed into the Galaxy S25 FE than the down-firing, thin-sounding speaker setup that is currently on offer. You'll find the speakerphone itself is a bit too quiet to work well in louder environments, and you'll equally find the speakers are just barely passable for music. To be fair, most of us use headphones over the speaker, but there are certainly situations where you'll want to share what you're watching or listening to with someone else. Bottom line, the Galaxy S25 FE should make mild improvements to this setup that make it closer to the flagship Galaxy S phones in this department. Better battery life would be nice Ryan Haines / Android Authority The Galaxy S24 FE's 4,700mAh battery gets most users through the day, but that's about it. If you're a gamer or stream a lot, chances are you're hunting for a charger by mid-afternoon. For a phone that might keep the same chipset, improving battery life should be a top priority. A bump to 5,000mAh would make a real difference, letting it go the distance for nearly everyone. It's not an unusual move either — Google's Pixel 9a has decent battery life, and the company has promised to further prioritize battery life with its Pixel series, and even Apple's new iPhone 16e has made strides in this area. Budget phones don't need to cut corners here anymore. What would you like to see from the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE? 0 votes A new design NaN % A better camera package NaN % Bettery battery life NaN % Better speakers NaN % Other (Tell us in the comments) NaN % Will there be a Galaxy S25 FE? Ryan Haines / Android Authority Although the FE branding has existed for a long time now, it really didn't take its modern shape until the launch of the Galaxy S23 FE in October of 2023. While it's only been two years since the line debuted, Samsung has made it pretty clear it sees the Galaxy S FE as an important part of its budget strategy. This is especially true in the US, where the Galaxy S FE has essentially replaced the Galaxy A50 series in order to prevent overlap in pricing and features. In the current landscape, the Galaxy S FE is to Samsung what the Pixel A series is to Google, or the iPhone 16e (formerly iPhone SE series) is to Apple. So, yes, there will absolutely be a Galaxy S25 FE. If that wasn't enough to convince you, Android Authority has also spotted code that not only suggests the Galaxy S25 FE is on its way but also reveals the phone may be more of a sidegrade. As we mentioned briefly above, the phone reportedly rocks the same Exynos 2400e as the Galaxy S24 FE. Of course, not everyone in our team feels this is a bad thing. That's really all we know about the device this early in the game. As for when it might arrive? So far, the Galaxy S FE series has predictably arrived in stores in the first week of October after a late September reveal, as you can see below: Samsung Galaxy S24 FE — October 3, 2024 October 3, 2024 Samsung Galaxy S23 FE — October 5, 2023 History suggests a fall launch is likely, and I'd say that's most certainly the case. That said, you never know. The fact that the Galaxy S25 FE looks to be a bit of a sidegrade could mean the company is planning something different this year. Possibly as a reaction to the existence of the iPhone 16e? Of course, this is only speculation on my part. Should you wait for the Galaxy S25 FE? C. Scott Brown / Android Authority Considering the Galaxy S25 FE won't likely arrive until this fall, we wouldn't wait. Not only is the Galaxy S24 FE still fairly new, but current rumors suggest the phone might not be a massive upgrade anyhow. There's really no reason not to pick up the Galaxy S25 FE if you're looking for a quality Samsung experience, but don't want to shell out for the more premium Galaxy S25 series.
