Barwani: Five officials, including police station in-charge, where shifted to police lines on Wednesday for negligence in the case of seizure of large quantity of liquor by Sendhwa rural police station. Barwani Superintendent of Police Jagdish Dabar told TOI that Sendhwa rural police station in-charge Dilip Puri, two assistant sub-inspectors Ashish Pandit and Chandrashekhar Patidar, and two head constables Tarun Rathore and Vinod Meena were shifted to the police lines after prima facie negligence was found in the seizure of foreign liquor. He said that this action was taken based on inquiry report of Sendhwa SDOP Ajay Kumar Waghmare. The SP said that additional SP Dheeraj Kumar Babbar has been ordered to conduct further inquiry in this matter. He said that on July 5, Sendhwa rural police station confiscated 545 boxes of English liquor worth Rs 61 lakh from Agra Mumbai National Highway. In this case, there were allegations of confiscating less liquor and not the entire stock from the truck, which was being illegally transported from Rajasthan to Gujarat. DIG Nimar Range Siddharth Bahuguna had directed Barwani SP to inquire into the matter.

Raipur: In a horrific late-night road tragedy, four young men were charred to death after their car crashed and caught fire near a bridge construction site on NH-30 in Chhattisgarh's Kanker district in Bastar. The incident occurred around 1:15 AM in the early hours of July 19 near Aturgaon, shocking the local community and prompting a full-scale investigation by police. According to officials, six youths were travelling in a white Swift Dziretowards Kanker when the car struck the concrete edge of an old bridge located beside an under-construction flyover. The vehicle, reportedly speeding, lost control at a diversion point and slammed into the structure. The impact triggered a spark that led to a massive fire, likely caused by a short circuit in the engine compartment. Four of the six occupants were trapped inside the car and could not escape the flames. Tragically, the four young men who died in the fire have been identified as Yuvraj Sori (24), Hemant Shori (20), Suraj Uike (19), Deepak Maravi (19). All four bodies were found burnt beyond recognition inside the charred vehicle. Local eyewitnesses told police that the car appeared to be travelling at high speed while initial reports also suggest that some of the youths may have been under the influence of alcohol, a claim now under police investigation. SDOP Mohsin Khan told reporters that a forensic team has been deployed to collect evidence from the site. "We are examining all aspects including negligence, and whether the vehicle was being used without authorisation. Statements from the two surviving youths are being recorded," he said. Kanker police and fire brigade units arrived at the scene shortly after the accident. Firefighters used water from the nearby river along with fire tenders to douse the flames. However, by the time the fire was brought under control, the damage was already done. Families of the deceased have been notified, and autopsies were conducted before the bodies were handed over.

According to police, six youths were travelling in a Swift Dzire car. The group was heading towards Kanker when the car reached a diversion near an under-construction bridge. Eyewitnesses say the car was moving at high speed, and the driver lost control, crashing into the bridge's railing. The impact triggered a fire, trapping four of the youths inside the vehicle. Two others managed to escape the flames, but sustained severe injuries. They were immediately rushed to the district hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment. Preliminary reports suggest the youths were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, police said. Witnesses also confirmed signs of intoxication among the victims. Among the six victims, five were reportedly from Kondagaon district, while one hailed from Kanker. However, the police caught his lie through his mobile location. The police registered a case against the father under the POCSO Act and other charges, and he was sent to jail. According to information from SDOP Sihora Parul Sharma, the 14-year-old girl from Majholi lives with her parents and younger siblings. Due to the death of her maternal grandfather, her mother and sister went to their home during Holi. During this time, her father repeatedly assaulted the minor daughter. When the girl experienced abdominal pain, she was admitted to the medical hospital on July 4. The doctor found that the minor was four months pregnant. An abortion was performed under the MTP Act. Indore: A day after a man was found murdered near a temple in Kaithuli village of Mandsaur, police arrested the accused, Kuldeep Singh Rajput, from a forested area in Rajasthan on Wednesday. Mandsaur SP Abhishek Anand said that 46-year-old Rajput, a resident of Jhalawar in Rajasthan, was arrested with the weapons used in the crime, including a wooden stick, stone, and the blood-stained clothes. On July 15, body of a man was found in a bloodied state inside a roadside shelter near Bheru Bawji temple on Bhawanpura Road at Kaithuli village. Upon receiving the alert, inspector Rameshchand Dangi, along with his team, reached the scene and identified the deceased as Keshrilal Mali, a resident of Kaithuli. An FIR was lodged in the case and investigation started. SDOP Vijay Yadav visited the scene and forensic experts, including a fingerprint team and dog squad, were deployed for collecting crucial physical evidence. During the investigation, police zeroed in on the primary suspect, Rajput a co-worker of Mali. A search was conducted in areas like liquor shops, nearby fields, and forest regions. They would cook and sleep at a nearby shelter behind the temple. On the night of the incident, both consumed alcohol and an argument escalated into a physical fight. Enraged by verbal abuse and threats, Rajput assaulted Mali with a wooden stick, stone, and stone slab, leading to his death. Blood stains found on Rajput's shirt, pants, and slippers corroborated his confession, the SDOP said.
