Aussie cops hunt for dress-wearing ‘Irishman' who allegedly sexually assaulted teen

Detectives claim the man initially approached the teenager in a store on Chapel Street in Melbourne between 3.30pm and 5pm on 20 June. According to police, he asked the woman to help him choose a dress for him to wear, before following her into other stores. After buying one of the items, he then changed into a dress at one of the shops. He then left the store wearing the dress and took the woman to a café. Police were told the man removed his underwear, then grabbed the victim and attempted to kiss her. She left the café and was not physically injured. Detectives have released CCTV footage and images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries. The 27-year-old's Heidelberg West home was raided this morning, after a phone was allegedly found in a staff toilet at the hospital in Melbourne's north on July 3. 'Mernda Sexual Offence and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) investigators have arrested a man following an incident at a medical facility in Heidelberg,' Victoria Police said in a statement. 'It is alleged a recording device in the form of a mobile phone was located in a restricted staff toilet of a medical facility in Heidelberg on July 3. 'The device is believed to have been in place for some time before staff became aware and reported the matter to police. The 27-year-old was arrested on Thursday.
