You can find them here: Forbes Today's Wordle #1496 Hints And Answer For Thursday, July 24th By Erik Kain TGIF! It's Friday at last and the weekend is just around the riverbend. It's also 2XP Friday, so Competitive Wordlers don't forget to double your points, positive or negative. It's the last Friday of July. Maybe some places celebrate Final Friday instead of First Friday. Next Friday is the 1st of August, so enjoy these last days of July. Now let's solve this Wordle! Wordle is a daily word puzzle game where your goal is to guess a hidden five-letter word in six tries or fewer. After each guess, the game gives feedback to help you get closer to the answer: Green : The letter is in the word and in the correct spot. : The letter is in the word and in the correct spot. Yellow : The letter is in the word, but in the wrong spot. : The letter is in the word, but in the wrong spot. Gray: The letter is not in the word at all. Use these clues to narrow down your guesses. Every day brings a new word, and everyone around the world is trying to solve the same puzzle. Some Wordlers also play Competitive Wordle against friends, family, the Wordle Bot or even against me, your humble narrator. See rules for Competitive Wordle toward the end of this post. Wordle Bot's Starting Word: SLATE My Starting Word Today: CRANE (191 words remaining) The Hint: Errand boy. The Clue: This Wordle has more consonants than vowels. Okay, spoilers below! The answer is coming! . . . The Answer: Today's Wordle Screenshot: Erik Kain Wordle Analysis Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here . This was a tough one! Even starting with CRANE, Wordle Bot's second favorite opening guess, I took five tries today and I got lucky. HOIST only cut my 191 remaining possible solutions down to 28 and POWER only slashed that number down to 9. I was running low on guesses, but couldn't think of any good words to get rid of more letters. LOVER only cut my total down to 6, and at this point I started to get worried. Fortunately, GOFER did the trick. Yikes. Competitive Wordle Score Today's Wordle Bot Screenshot: Erik Kain Miraculously, the Wordle Bot took six tries today. I don't think I've ever seen Wordle Bot take six tries before. Five a couple times, but six? I don't think so. Good news for me, though! I get -1 point for guessing in five and 1 point for beating the Bot, which leaves me with 0 points. Even doubling 0 for 2XP Friday just equals zero. However, the Bot gets -2 for guessing in six and -1 for losing to me. That's -3 x 2 for 2XP Friday, or -6 total. Even getting o today, I take the lead for the first time since the very beginning of July. Our totals narrow to: Erik: 8 points Wordle Bot: 6 points How To Play Competitive Wordle Guessing in 1 is worth 3 points; guessing in 2 is worth 2 points; guessing in 3 is worth 1 point; guessing in 4 is worth 0 points; guessing in 5 is -1 points; guessing in 6 is -2 points and missing the Wordle is -3 points. If you beat your opponent you get 1 point. If you tie, you get 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add it up to get your score. Keep a daily running score or just play for a new score each day. Fridays are 2XP, meaning you double your points—positive or negative. You can keep a running tally or just play day-by-day. Enjoy! Today's Wordle Etymology The word "gofer" comes from the phrase "go for" as in someone who "goes for" things on behalf of others. It originated in American English in the 1950s, especially in office or film settings, to describe a junior employee or assistant sent to fetch items or run errands. The word is unrelated to the animal gopher , though the similar spelling often causes confusion. India's Non-GMO Soy Sector Prepares for EUDR Compliance with Support from SOPA and TRST01

India PR Distribution New Delhi [India], July 5: India, one of the leading producers of Non-GMO soybeans, is taking significant steps to align with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which mandates full traceability and zero-deforestation sourcing for agricultural commodities like soy. The regulation, enforced from June 2023 with compliance deadlines approaching by end of 2024, is set to impact global trade flows. In FY 2023-24, India produced approximately 113 lakh metric tons (11.3 million MT) of soybeans. As global demand for traceable, deforestation-free Non-GMO soy rises, especially from European markets, Indian stakeholders are strategically positioning the country as a key supplier. India's competitive advantage lies in its largely Non-GMO soy cultivation, unlike major producers such as Brazil and the USA where GMO crops dominate. This makes Indian soy a natural fit for EU buyers seeking sustainable and clean-label sourcing. To facilitate this shift, the Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA) Is partnering with TRST01, a sustainability technology leader, to enable exporters and farmers to comply with EUDR requirements efficiently and affordably. Key Features of TRST01's EUDR Solution: -Geo-mapping of soy cultivation areas -Digital traceability from farm to port -Immutable blockchain records for audit trail -Automated generation of GeoJSON files and Due Diligence Statements (DDS) -Farmer onboarding, training, and field support Strategic Vision: SOPA and TRST01 are committed to building India as a Non-GMO soy export powerhouse. Through this collaboration, the target is to facilitate traceability and certification for over 10 lakh metric tons of soy in the coming export cycles. Field-level mapping initiatives, exporter training workshops, and data standardization drives have already begun across major soy-producing regions--Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Telangana. Why Indian Non-GMO Soy Matters: -GMO-free by default: India's soy production is Non-GMO, aligning naturally with EU regulations. -Sustainable cultivation practices -Higher trust quotient in global markets -Opportunity for premium pricing and market preference in the EU About SOPA: The Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA) is the apex body representing soybean processors, exporters, and stakeholders, dedicated to the growth and global competitiveness of India's soy industry.

The Japan Times receives Honorable Mention at SOPA 2025 Awards for Editorial Excellence

A longform feature on a Noto Peninsula community's recovery efforts following a magnitude 7.6 earthquake that struck the northern coast area on Jan. 1. 2024, written by staff writer Alex K.T. Martin and published by The Japan Times, Ltd. (President and CEO: Minako Suematsu) received an Excellence in Feature Writing (Regional/Local), Honorable Mention award from The Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) at the SOPA 2025 Awards for Editorial Excellence. The Excellence in Feature Writing category honors work that demonstrates high standards of reporting and writing to describe an idea, event, trend or personality, or explain a topic of significance. SOPA is a Hong Kong-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to pursuing excellence in journalism. Said SOPA judges of The Japan Times entry, 'Impressive reporting, with vivid scenes and insightful conversations from the front lines of the post-quake rescue. The reader is brought into the urgency of the effort with well-crafted, descriptive writing.' Martin commented, 'I'm honored to be recognized for my work on the destruction wrought by the earthquake that struck the Noto Peninsula. The disaster exposed the challenges faced by rural communities with limited access to transportation and highlighted the growing vulnerability of Japan's aging population. I hope the story brings attention to the often overlooked process of recovery, and to the lives of those who continue to rebuild long after the headlines have faded.' Said Managing Editor Mark Thompson of the win: 'This is a very meaningful award for us as several Japan Times staff covered the immediate aftermath of the Noto Earthquake and witnessed firsthand both the fragility of life and the resilience of communities in times of crises. We feel Alex did an excellent job of not only conveying the immediate situation on the ground but also the larger topic of isolated rural communities and the inevitability of major seismic events. Above all, he articulated the strength of grassroots support networks in the face of adversity.' Award winners were announced at the SOPA 2025 Awards for Editorial Excellence awards ceremony held in Hong Kong. A complete list of winners can be found here.
