CJP hoists national flag at SC
ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi hoisted national flag in a ceremony held at the Supreme Court on Thursday to mark the 78th Independence Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The judges of the apex court, the Registrar, officers, and staff attended the ceremony, which commenced with the recitation of the holy Quran, followed by the national anthem. The chief justice celebrated the occasion with children from SOS Villages Peshawar and Islamabad, engaging with them warmly and distributing gifts as a gesture of goodwill and solidarity. In his Independence Day message, he said; 'As we celebrate the 78th Independence Day of our beloved homeland, I extend my heartfelt felicitations to the entire legal fraternity and the people of Pakistan. This day is a solemn reminder of the vision, sacrifices and unwavering determination of our forefathers, who dreamt of a sovereign nation where justice, equality and the rule of law would prevail. Maryam to address Anatolia Diplomacy Forum
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif will attend the 4th Anatolia Diplomacy Forum (ADF) on the invitation of Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan. The chief minister has been invited to address the three-day event. A cultural event will also be organised in the honour. The Turkish first lady stated in her invitation, "I would be overjoyed with your participation in the Anatolia Diplomacy Forum." The title of the ADF-2025 will be 'Restoring diplomatic ties in a divided world'. The forum will be attended by heads of state, diplomats, opinion leaders and other eminent personalities from across the globe. According to a statement, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will participate in the 'ADF Leaders Panel'. She will also be part of the 'ADF Talks' and 'ADF Rounds'. She will deliver an address on 'Shaping the future in a divided world and the power of change through knowledge'. SOS Villages During a meeting with SOS Children's Villages International President Dereje Wardofa, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz agreed on the promotion and improvement of the model in the province to strengthen bilateral cooperation for the protection, education, mental and physical development of orphan and helpless children. The chief minister appreciated the contribution of SOS Villages in guiding youth on the path of independence through SOS Schools' quality education and Youth Homes. She said, "The state is responsible for taking care of every child, and the Punjab government is fulfilling its responsibilities with a spirit of a mother. It is commendable that orphans and helpless children are provided with a safe roof and quality education in SOS Villages." According to a statement, Dereje Wardofa lauded the CM's vision of social service and her childcare policy.
