AKNU to host national seminar on Aug 21

Rajamahendravaram: Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU) will host a two-day national seminar on 'Preservation of Tribal Indigenous Knowledge on August 21 and 22, informed Vice-Chancellor Prof S Prasanna Sree. On Saturday, she formally released the brochure related to the seminar at the university campus. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor said the seminar is being organised by the University College of Education in collaboration with ICSSR and NCST, with financial support from both institutions. The event aims to deliberate on crucial issues like tribal customs, traditions, cultural heritage, indigenous wealth, tribal rights, education, healthcare, and the need for education among tribal women. She said that academicians, tribal advisors, social thinkers, and researchers from various states are expected to participate and present their research papers and perspectives on these subjects. Prof K Subbarao will serve as the Chairman of the seminar, Dr RS Varahalu Dora as the Convener, Dr R Sambasiva Rao as the Coordinator, and Dr M Gopalakrishna, Dr G Elishababu, Dr J Rajamani, Dr V Ramakrishna, Dr N Sujatha, and KSR Rajeswari Devi as Co-conveners. The Vice-Chancellor invited scholars and the general public to take part and make the seminar a grand success. AKNU V-C honoured with Dr Subbakrishna Award

Rajamahendravaram: Vice-Chancellor of Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU) Prof S Prasanna Sree has been conferred the prestigious Dr R Subbakrishna Memorial Best Community Linguist Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the development of tribal languages and scripts in India. The award was presented virtually on Wednesday during a meeting held at the university's video conference hall. It was conferred as part of the International Conference on Population Education heldin Imphal (North), Manipur. The event was jointly organised by the Directorate of Regional Indian Languages and Research (DRILR), Manipur International University, and Apumba Irei Pakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS). Prof Prasanna was lauded for her remarkable efforts in the preservation and revitalisation of endangered tribal languages, particularly in Andhra Pradesh and across India. University authorities, teaching, and non-teaching staff congratulated the Vice-Chancellor for bringing national recognition to AKNU and for her dedicated work in uplifting marginalised language communities.

Rajamahendravaram: Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU) Vice-Chancellor Prof S Prasanna Sree announced that students, who have qualified in APPGCET, are invited to apply for Postgraduate (PG) courses offered by the university. On Friday, the Vice-Chancellor unveiled the admissions brochure at her office, detailing various programmes and facilities available at AKNU. The university offers PG courses across its campuses in Rajamahendravaram, Kakinada, and Tadepalligudem, in disciplines such as Arts, Commerce, Science, and Technology. The V-C said that with the highest number of affiliated colleges in the united Godavari districts, AKNU stands as one of the largest state universities in Andhra Pradesh. She emphasised the university's student-friendly campus with a wide range of facilities, including experienced faculty, Dr BR Ambedkar Central Library, separate hostels for men and women, Wi-Fi, health centre, bank, post office, NSS units, and sports amenities. The university, recognised by AICTE and NAAC, has also signed MoUs with several national and international institutions to promote academic and research excellence. Admissions to all the courses available in various campuses of the university will be based on qualification in the state-conducted common entrance test. Eligible students admitted to the university's campuses in Rajamahendravaram, Kakinada, and Tadepalligudem will be entitled to government fee concessions. ‘International Financial Management' book released

Rajamahendravaram: A new academic resource aimed at enhancing student understanding of global financial systems was officially launched at Adikavi Nannaya University. Vice-Chancellor Prof S Prasanna Sree unveiled the book titled International Financial Management (IFM), authored by Dr Ammi Reddy Mallidi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce and Management Studies. Speaking at the launch event held at the university on Wednesday, Prof Prasanna Sree praised the author for presenting complex international financial concepts in a student-friendly and practical format. She said that the book is expected to significantly benefit students by offering clear insights into international financial practices through easily understandable language and practical examples. The event was attended by faculty members, including Dr N Udaya Bhaskar, Dr Umamaheswari Devi, Dr G Rajendra Prasad, Dr I Satyanarayana Raju, and G Alice Joy, who commended the academic value of the publication and its potential impact on curriculum enrichment.
