Fan Theories About Olivia Rodrigo's Third Album, Since the OR3 Era Is Nearly Upon Us
Olivia Rodrigo's discography is on heavy rotation 24/7, and fans have been anticipating her third album since she dropped her sophomore record, GUTS, back in 2023. O-Rod just wrapped up the GUTS era with a damn-near flawless festival run headlining Governor's Ball, Bonnaroo, and Osheaga. Now, she's given her dedicated Livies the confirmation they need that OR3 is on the way. In a newsletter shared with fans on August 11, the Grammy winner revealed that the GUTS chapter of her musical story has come to an end. 'The GUTS world tour is officially over!! thank u 4 making each and every show so special,' she wrote, in part, before sending fans into a spiral with a specifically placed '3' in the middle of her message. She continued, 'The end of the GUTS era feels bittersweet, but I'm sooooo excited for all that's y3t to come!!!! speaking of what's next... clear ur calendar tomorrow at 9 am pt for something special i've been working on to celebrate all our GUTS tour memories together.' That may have been the first time she confirmed a new era is upon us in writing, but after her headlining set at Osheaga on August 3, the artist ditched her signature GUTS rings and handed them out to fans in the crowd. 'rings off!!!!! that's a wrap on guts tour!!! until next time I love y'all💋🎸🎂,' she captioned a clip she posted to TikTok. She also wore a bedazzled '3' on her shirt that night, signaling her next era was coming. However, all the way back in July 2023, Liv revealed she was already conceptualizing her third album (yes, before GUTS even dropped in its entirety) during an interview with Open House Party. 'I've actually been thinking about it a lot,' she said at the time. 'I just barely finished GUTS, so I can't get too ahead of myself, but, yeah, I definitely am ideating. The wheels are spinning.' At the premiere of her GUTS World Tour film in 2024, Entertainment Tonight asked if her post-tour plans included working on OR3 and if it would be 'love inspired.' Her cheeky response: 'We'll see! You'll have to listen, tune in.' Olivia later told Harper's Bazaar, 'I love trying to distill my emotions into songs. It's one of my favorite things in the world, and I hope in the future I'll continue to make albums that are fresh and exciting to me creatively.' Ofc, she's been pretty tight-lipped about her upcoming project. We don't even know what it's called yet, but in the meantime, we can scroll through fan theories and see which ones could potentially come true. What SOUR and GUTS have in common—aside from their purple-tinted visuals, of course—is the fact that both albums have four-letter titles. As we hold out for OR3 announcement any day now, fans theorize that the album could be titled... Ahead of GUTS, a lot of theories pointed to SWEET as a contender. Fans are sticking with the theory for the OR3 era, which they feel will be inspired by her romance with Louis Partridge á la 'So American.' Others have ruled SWEET out entirely as it's a five-letter word. Some have theorized that OR3 will be called BURN and have a red-and-orange theme, as Liv has famously included fire in her music videos and on tour. She also introduced hints of red during the GUTS era. The most popular theory? That'd be LUCK. Tons of fans have picked up on Olivia's affinity for ladybugs and polka dots recently, and the insect is known to symbolize good luck. Her previous eras included butterfly imagery, so it seems likely that ladybugs can be introduced in the O-Rod universe, too. Olivia also said she was the 'luckiest girl alive' in an Instagram post celebrating her birthday. Ofc, she was decked out in polka dots and ladybug emojis were present in her caption.

New York youth work program includes $1.3 million for North Country
ALBANY, N.Y. (ABC22/FOX44) – Teenagers often wonder how to fill out their first job applications when they can't write anything down under 'experience'. This summer, 21,000 young people across New York State will fix that with the help of a government program. Governor Kathy Hochul announced Tuesday the awards by county for this year's Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), as passed in the state budget on May 9. Out of the total of $56.5 million, a 3% increase from last year to account for minimum wage increases, over $1.3 million will go to the North Country, including over $250 thousand for Clinton County, $188 thousand for Franklin County, and $93 thousand for Essex County. New York State Police: 12K tickets issued over holiday weekend New York's SYEP program aims to help about 21,000 people under 21 from low-income households enter the job market this summer. Participants in the program work in entry-level jobs in places like parks, summer camps, and cultural centers. One example of a local project under the program is Clinton County's Six Weeks of Employment Experience for Teens, or SWEET, which will employ youth up to 30 hours per week at $16 an hour this July and August. 'Investing in our young people's future and providing them with the resources and tools they need to succeed is a top priority of my administration,' said Governor Hochul. 'The Summer Youth Employment Program helps young New Yorkers across the state find good summer jobs that provide valuable experiences and skills that will help them pursue their educational and career goals and prepare them for success in the workforce as adults.' NYS gives funding for animal shelter improvements A 2014 study by the National Bureau of Economic Research indicated that participation in New York's SYEP greatly lowered young people's likelihood of going to prison within a five to eight year period afterwards, while having no statistically significant effect on whether they would later enroll in college.
