Ekta Kapoor calls Anurag Kashyap classist for saas-bahu jibe on Netflix CEO
Producer Ekta Kapoor reacted to filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's recent saas-bahu dramas remark. The latter had responded to Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos' doubts over starting with more populist content in India rather than 'Sacred Games'. Kashyap took a jibe at Sarandos, advising him to back saas-bahu shows, which offended called Kashyap dumb for making such remarks about art, which had a wide impact on the Indian masses. She highlighted how saas-bahu shows' reach and influence was "well documented by prestigious Chicago research!"advertisementShe said, "You are so dumb... saying this puts you at an advantage 'I'm smarter, cooler' but naaaaaaaa! Darling, how about gracious!!! and self-aware?????? An art that a lot of artists don't have! The Indian film and television producer tried to justify her label for Kashyap by saying that artists who speak about inclusivity are classists. Kapoor further said, "But artists who talk of an inclusive world are actually more classist. We must do away with this 'U can't sit with us, we're better' attitude for democracy and fair play!
