Eagles had two young stars attend Von Miller's 'Sack Summit' for pass rushers

Over the past two days, Von Miller hosted his annual "Pass Rush Summit" at UNLV, and the Eagles' edge rusher duo was present. Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt are both attending this year's 'Sack Summit' in Las Vegas. 👀Philadelphia's young edge rusher duo is learning from some of the NFL's best like Maxx Crosby and Cam Jordan ahead of training camp. The Eagles suffered several losses in the secondary and defensive line, but managed to improve in the short term, while accumulating potential All-Pro talent in the draft. The first wave of free agency saw Josh Sweat (Cardinals), Milton Williams (Patriots), Kenneth Gainwell (Steelers), Mekhi Becton (Chargers), and Oren Burks (Bengals) all depart. Vic Fangio's defense saw Darius Slay (Steelers), Isaiah Rodgers (Vikings), Avonte Maddox (Lions), and James Bradberry (UFA) all depart a Super Bowl roster. Philadelphia responded to those losses by adding Josh Uche and Azeez Ojulari on the edge, adding the duo to a returning group that includes Nolan Smith and second-year outside linebacker Jalyx Hunt. Smith and Hunt have a huge year ahead of them, and recently headed west for advice. The event brings together dozens of NFL pass rushers to exchange players Howie Long, Chris Long and others are also in attendance. Miller debuted his annual 'Von Miller Pass Rush Summit' in 2017 to bring together some of the NFL's best pass rushers to learn from each other through a day of drills, conversation, and film study. As the 36-year-old future Hall of Famer has drawn closer to the end of his career, his focus has shifted to finding the best way to sustain the exchange of information he has created in the future. Miller has rebranded the event as the 'Sack Summit' and brought in Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby and New Orleans Saints defensive end Cam Jordan, who've attended the summit for years as participants, as hosts starting last year. Besides Miller, Jordan, and Crosby, other notable defensive linemen who participated included Brian Burns (New York Giants), Daron Payne (Washington Commanders), Josh Allen (Jacksonville Jaguars), and Matthew Judon. Additionally, Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp has been present in the past.

Maxx Crosby: I want to win so badly, I put everything into it

Though Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby has not played a down under the team's new regime, he was still rewarded with a lucrative three-year contract extension in March. Crosby is grateful for that, but also feels like there's more on the table for him and the franchise. 'It's an honor, obviously, having the Raiders with a new staff and new regime come in and show me that type of respect,' Crosby said at the Sack Summit in Las Vegas on Thursday, via Tashan Reed of 'It means the world. Like Spytek said, it's not about what I've done, it's about what I'm about to do. … And we've got a lot of work to do.' As one of the league's top edge rushers, Crosby would like the chance to play in meaningful games in January. That's easier said than done, particularly given that the AFC West's other three teams made it to the playoffs in 2024. The only time Crosby has played in the postseason was in 2021, when the Raiders fell to the Bengals in the wild card round. But after missing games for the first time in 2024, Crosby is healthy and ready to compete. 'Anytime you go out there, you want to be in a position to win,' Crosby said. 'Individual success and things like that are awesome, but it's not why you play the game. You play to win. We just saw it in the NBA: OKC, just a couple years ago, was one of the worst teams in the league. But they had a lot of young guys, they trusted the process, they developed, and now they're the world champions. 'We're trying to win. I want to win so badly. I put everything into it. I want everybody else to think like that. And that's been my goal, just bringing as many guys along as I possibly can.' Crosby led the league in tackles for loss in 2022 and 2023. Though he missed five games due to injury in 2024, he still was selected as a Pro Bowler after recording 7.5 sacks, 17 tackles for loss, 20 quarterback hits, and five passes defensed.

Broncos had one player attend 'Tight End University' this week

Welcome to Year 5 of "Tight End University." George Kittle, Travis Kelce and Greg Olsen co-founded the event in 2021, inspired by Von Miller's Sack Summit. TEU has grown to the point of averaging more than one tight end per NFL team represented at the gathering. This year's TEU was held in Nashville, Tennessee, and current Denver Broncos tight end Evan Engram was on the guest list. Ex-Broncos tight ends who attended included Albert Okwuegbunam, Chris Manhertz and Eric Saubert. TEU's website says the three-day event gives attendees an opportunity to "bond, collaborate with, and learn amongst their peers while participating in a variety of activities including film study, on-field drills, recovery, rehabilitation, and more." Egram and his wife are seen arriving at the event's opening red carpet event in the seventh slide below: And in the third slide below: The players worked out together: And hit the field for on-field work: And they attended a private concert on Tuesday evening. Quite an event, and a good way for Engram to prep to connect and learn with his peers ahead of training camp next month. Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.
