(David Prisciak/CTV News) A man who was implicated in Regina's third homicide of 2022 has now been charged in connection to a 2020 death in Edmonton, Alta. On May 26, Amiir Abdullahi Hussen, 27, was charged with first-degree murder in connection to the shooting death of Mahad Bashir Farah in December of 2020. He was originally arrested in Edmonton in early February. Hussen is one of two people facing charges in that case – the other being Saed Osman – who was listed as one of Canada's most wanted and the subject of a $50,000 reward. In Regina, Hussen faces one count of second-degree murder in relation to the 2022 death of Leslie Victor John Whitebear. On March 15, 2022, officers with the Regina Police Service (RPS) were called to the 100 block of Davidson Crescent after an injured man was reported to be lying outside. Police and paramedics found the man had sustained a critical injury. He was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. Two days later, the death was declared a homicide and the victim was identified as Whitebear. Hussen is due back in Regina provincial court on June 16.

On Monday, the Edmonton Police Service announced that Saed Osman, 30, and Amiir Hussen, 27, have been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Mahad Bashir Farah, 25. The Edmonton Police Service was called to a weapons complaint downtown at 3 p.m. on Dec. 8, 2020. Farah was found injured at the scene and pronounced dead. An autopsy found he was fatally shot. A $50,000 reward for information on Osman's whereabouts was offered in November 2022 in relation to the death of Imbert George, 28, who was killed in a shooting at Ertale Lounge on 118 Avenue and 124 Street on March 12, 2022. Police say about 70 bullets were fired in the event and seven other people were injured. Investigators say Osman is from Ontario. He is also known by the alias Guled Osman and the nickname 'Styles.' He was described by police in 2022 as armed and dangerous. Hussen was arrested in Edmonton in February and remains in custody. He's been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Leslie Victor John Whitebear in Regina in 2022. Anyone with information about Osman's whereabouts is asked to contact EPS at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
