Snack fans everywhere are buzzing about a crispy, chocolate-coated treat that's reminding them of their childhood favorites... only better. Enter: Wonder Peanut Butter Wafers. Yes, the same iconic brand behind Wonder Bread. While the brand may be best known for white sandwich bread and colorful packaging, it's quietly stepped into the snack game and people are freaking out in the best way. Fans are loving these bars featuring layers of crunchy wafers stuffed with smooth peanut butter and finished with a rich chocolatey coating. They look familiar, sure, but the taste? That's where things get interesting. According to fans, they're lighter, crispier, and more peanut buttery than the classic Little Debbie version. 🍳 SIGN UP to get delicious recipes, handy kitchen hacks & fun food news in our daily Pop Kitchen newsletter 🍳 Instagram user @your_snack_dealer found the sweet treat at Meijer. One reviewer compared the experience to 'crunching into a memory, but with better texture.' Others are calling them 'dangerously good' and claiming they're the upgraded version of the peanut butter wafer snacks we all know and love. Shoppers say they're easy to find at major retailers, like Walmart and Safeway, and usually ring in at around $5 per box, making them an easy, low-risk treat to toss into your cart. Each bar comes individually wrapped, making them perfect for lunchboxes, glove compartments or just snack drawer emergencies. But what really has people talking is the texture. Where some wafer snacks can turn soft or overly sweet, these keep their crunch and balance, according to fans. The peanut butter is "smooth without being overwhelming," and the coating is just enough to give it that classic 'candy bar meets snack bar' feel. If you're looking for a new sweet snack to fall in love with, these throwback bars are having a serious moment. The nostalgia is real. But according to fans, the flavor might be even better than you remember. So if you see a bright red box with the Wonder logo peeking out from the snack aisle, don't hesitate. Grab it. Taste it. Woman charged in Seattle Safeway 'Monday Cheap Chicken' shooting

The Brief Army veteran Jesse Grant was shot in a Seattle Safeway parking lot after a dispute over some tossed chicken bones. The suspect, 31-year-old Charelle Dale, is charged with assault and firearm possession, with bail set at $350,000. Grant remains hospitalized, concerned about his family's well-being and medical expenses. SEATTLE - Turmoil outside a Seattle Safeway parking lot took a violent turn, leaving an Army veteran shot and hospitalized. The backstory Jesse Grant, a father of three, says he just got off work at a nearby business when he and his coworker bought Safeway's Monday Cheap Chicken deal, and were eating in a car parked outside the grocery chain. "I was throwing my chicken onto the ground outside my window so I wouldn't get any mess in my co-worker's car," Grant said. That's when he says another driver parked next to them and accused him of throwing chicken bones at her vehicle. "She opens up the car and steps onto some chicken and she's like, 'What the f***? Why is there some chicken on the ground?' And she looks over at me and she's like, 'Are you serious man? You're just throwing chicken onto the ground?' I'm like, 'who cares, leave me alone," Grant said. A police report states the argument escalated when the other driver, identified as 31-year-old Charelle Dale, took scissors and tried slashing Grant's coworker's tires. "I jump out of the car and tackle her to the ground and I put her into citizens arrest," Grant said. Cell phone video captured the chaos, moments before the shooting occurred. Grant says he didn't even realize there was a gun pointed at his head, which was in Dale's hand at the time. "I was in the military and I never got shot, but I get shot in Safeway over some chicken," Grant said. As security was on the phone with 911, Grant was shot in the leg. Then, another woman is seen running to the scene, believed to be Dale's girlfriend. Then, they both ran away on South Andover Street, then north of Rainier Avenue South. "If she's willing to shoot somebody over chicken, she's willing to shoot someone over anything," Grant said. Dale is being held on $350,000 bail, charged with second-degree assault and first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm in connection to the shooting. Dale is also accused in several other King County crimes, such as a Seattle armed robbery over an elderly man's Rolex, and using a car prowl victim's stolen credit cards at Bellevue Square Mall. She and her alleged accomplice, 28-year-old Deionte Hunter, have been charged in the crimes, which happened back in April. Meanwhile, Grant is still recovering in the hospital, worried about his family and mounting medical bills. "I have three children, I have a mother-in-law who lives in our house, so I have to get back to work as fast as possible." Retail giant Albertsons plans to hire 1,000 people for its Bengaluru tech hub

The USD 80 billion Albertsons Companies—one of the largest food and drug retailers in the US—set up a digital hub in Bengaluru, leveraging the city's tech talent pool. The company plans to hire nearly 1,000 employees in the next 18 months, up from the current 300. Embracing its move as a late mover, Albertsons is turning timing into a strategic advantage. The retail giant is reimagining the future of digital retail from its Bengaluru global capability centre (GCC) to build smarter and more agile solutions. "Our goal is not to catch up; it's about figuring out how to build for the future," said Anuj Dhanda, EVP - chief information and transformation officer at Albertsons Companies. "There's a certain late-mover advantage—we're now able to design solutions with AI and data science at the core, rather than as an afterthought. Many capabilities that once required heavy coding can now be built with little to no code, dramatically increasing speed and agility. That's why we're so excited about our presence in Bengaluru and the incredible talent here driving this transformation." Albertsons has over 2,200 stores, and some of its banners include Safeway, Vons, Acme, Tom Thumb, Randalls, United Supermarkets, Haggen, Carrs, Kings Food Markets, and Balducci's Food Lover's Market. Dhanda said the US retail giant is aiming for a technology refresh. "We need a technology 2.0, with significant shifts underway—that's where Bengaluru and the GCC come in. For success, we realised we need much greater velocity and agility, and to build far more of our own IP than we do today. Our goal is to change the way we work in technology. We've integrated product, data, and full-stack engineers into fully functional, global teams to enable seamless collaboration. We're applying AI and automation across the entire tech stack—not just in software development, but from requirements gathering to infrastructure and observability." Many GCCs are increasingly relocating tech roles to India, signalling growing confidence in shifting solution ownership. "My intent is to have several of my direct reports to be based here. If we consider the leadership group—around 17 to 18 vice-presidents and above—the goal is for at least a third of them to be in Bengaluru within the next 18 months," Dhanda said. He also said that the insourcing mix will shift dramatically, reducing reliance on external IT providers. "We developed numerous digital systems, including pharmacy and health capabilities, and upgraded our financial systems. Going forward, our investment will move from foundational upgrades to development-driven initiatives. While we currently depend heavily on third parties like TCS, Cognizant, and Sapient for resources, we plan to bring much of that work inhouse, empowering our own associates. Our focus is to reduce third-party dependence and build stronger internal teams." Lalit Ahuja, founder of full-stack GCC firm ANSR, said Albertsons is leveraging the late-mover advantage—not late to the party, but arriving at the perfect time to capitalise on a mature market. For retailers, the landscape is defined by thin margins, highly perishable inventory, and intense tech-driven competition—with e-commerce playing an increasingly vital role. "Some companies struggle because tech centres are set up suboptimally. But there are firms which are set up with sharper tech differentiation. We're witnessing significant maturity in the types of roles being introduced, driving modernisation of its tech stack. This includes mainstream adoption of new technologies and a stronger emphasis on product and functional ownership. And AI has become the greatest accelerator of efficiency," Ahuja said. Last year, Accenture picked up a significant minority stake in the Bengaluru and US-based ANSR, which set up over 170 GCCs in India.
