Khanapur: Local constituency MLA Veduma Bojju Patel said that if there is to be a change in the lives of tribals, it is possible only with quality education. On Saturday, he participated as the chief guest at a meeting organised by Gondu Sanskritika Samaj on the topic of education and its importance in Kienjhar town centre of Odisha state. Elaborating on the educational facilities provided by the Telangana government in the State, he explained that to provide quality education to Backward Classes the government brought many reforms that are yielding positive results. 'Special attention is being paid to the health of students studying at ashram schools, especially in tribal agency areas, by providing education, food, and accommodation facilities,' said the MLA. 'Since 2014, ashrams, gurukuls, TWS schools, junior and degree colleges, Sainik schools, modern science labs and libraries have been established for tribals in the State, and experienced teachers have been appointed to provide corporate-level education,' he said. 'Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is making special efforts to strengthen the education system in Telangana and is setting up Integrated Residential Schools in remote rural areas,' he added. 'Education is the only way to gain recognition in the society. Tribal youth should pursue higher education and achieve their desired goals.'

Aizawl: Union civil aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu has informed Mizoram CM Lalduhoma that the Airports Authority of India (AAI) had been instructed to make offer to the Mizoram govt for taking over the state-owned Lengpui airport which will in turn be scrutinised by the state govt. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now A n official statement said Lalduhoma met Naidu at the latter's office in Delhi where they discussed the issue of the AAI taking over the Lengpui airport in the presence of senior officials of the AAI and also construction of a new airport in southern part of Mizoram as well as establishment of heliports under the PM-UDAN scheme. Naidu told the CM that he will take up the construction of a new airport in southern Mizoram. Lalduhoma also met defence minister Rajnath Singh and expressed gratitude to the latter for being instrumental in establishment of the Mizo Territorial Army Battalion which will help in generation of additional jobs for the youths of the state. He said the battalion will be raised by June. Singh informed the CM that private educational institutions in Mizoram can work together with Sainik Schools on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode and selected private schools will be accepted as Sainik schools through online applications. Lalduhoma in turn appealed to Singh to declare the national highways and state highways in Mizoram as strategic highways for better maintenance.

1 2 3 Ramgarh: Union minister of state for defence, Sanjay Seth, on Tuesday said that India is moving quickly towards becoming self-sufficient in terms of its defence requirements and is exporting war equipment and weapons to 90 countries worldwide. The Indian Navy has achieved 75% self-sufficiency over the years, he said. Speaking at the 300th birth anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar at Radha Govind University (RGU) in Ramgarh, the minister said, "India, which was earlier an importer of war equipment and weapons, has now become an exporter. India has become the fourth largest economy in the world with a four trillion dollar economy and a 6.85 lakh crore defence budget." The grand success of Operation Sindoor is being celebrated across the country with the Tiranga Yatra, he said. The Telugu Desam Party has voiced its complete support for the Indian government's Operation Sindoor against Pakistan, and Naidu personally congratulated Rajnath Singh on the successful military strike. 'I congratulated Rajnath Singh for the work done by our armed forces under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the supervision of defence minister Rajnath Singh. In the Jaggaiahpet–Donakonda cluster, where 6,000 acres of land is available, I requested the establishment of missile and ammunition production units," he said. 'In the Lepakshi-Madakasira region, with 10,000 acres available, we proposed setting up facilities for manufacturing military and civil aircraft, along with electronics production. The defence minister responded positively to the idea of developing a comprehensive aerospace ecosystem. Additionally, we requested the establishment of naval equipment production and weapon testing facilities in the Visakhapatnam-Anakapalli region. In Orvakal, Kurnool, where 4,000 acres is available, we proposed units focused on military drones, robotics, and advanced defence components."
