Loose Women's Saira Khan says she feels like she's 'losing the plot' in honest update
Saira Khan, 55, said that sometimes it all feels 'like it's too much' in a post to fans Saira Khan has shared the struggles that have left her feeling like a 'dishevelled mess' in a candid social media post. While the TV star said her hormones might be at play, she stressed that life often feels too 'overwhelming'. Posting to Instagram yesterday, the ex-Loose Women star said: "This rant is for any woman, a mother, who works or runs her own business, is going through hormonal change, and just feels like it's too much. It's overwhelming. "And people just don't understand the f***ing effort that you put into every day and people go, 'It's brain fog'. I'm not f***ng surprised it's brain fog because my brain is thinking about the dogs, the washing up, the cooking, the cleaning, the work that I've got to do. "And then I'm thinking about the next day and it's like, I'm not saying that it's just us women that do that, but it does feel like in my household, and in many households up and down this country, if you are a strong driven woman, they pile it on." Now 55, Saira said she's taking HRT to balance her hormones, but isn't having too much success thus far. She acknowledged this as an 'underlying irritation' but also said the people around her just aren't helping enough. She explained: "And then on top of that, we're going to a festival, they're all upstairs getting ready, the dog hasn't been fed, the dog hasn't been walked, the washing's still in, things haven't been put away. "The f***ing bins are overflowing. We are going away for four days, right? I don't want to come back to a f***ing s***hole. And then I'm running a business, which I love, it's my passion, but it's in a growth spurt. So, I'm like, I've got to also be thinking about that, trying to work at the same time." Worried she's 'losing the plot', Saira told her family to go to the festival without her so she could spend some time alone before joining them. She asked her fans if they had ever experienced something similar. "The biggest rant EVER of a middle-aged working mum," Saira added in the post's caption. "If anyone else feels the same way, please let me know because I feel like it is just me having these episodes where I just cannot cope with the reconsideration! I look like a state…. But that's what I'm driven to… a dishevelled mess!" Saira's post was quickly flooded with comments from fans, many of whom also empathised with the challenges women face in households. One person wrote: "OMG Saira you just described my life!! I feel your pain." Meanwhile, another added: "I feel exactly the same and I don't have as much on my plate as you." Someone else also added: "This has been me today! "Why are there three of us in this house, but I am the only one: washing, cleansing, arranging the meals, doing the shopping, worrying about school uniforms and play dates and holiday clubs and birthday presents and holidays and the dog and myself and the car and and and and AND!!"

Ex-Loose Women Saira Khan credits 'glowing skin' to one food
The former Loose Women star, 55, opened up about the 'simple' but 'nourishing' item in a social media post Saira Khan has highlighted the potential benefits of a surprising food she enjoys roasting until 'golden and caramelised'. The 55-year-old former Loose Women star asserted that such items are game-changing for glowing skin and are very affordable to buy. "Hasselback butternut squash—simple, nourishing, and ridiculously good," she said in an Instagram post this week. "Thank you to @cotswoldtravellingkitchen for the recipe and inspiration! "Started with a butternut squash, sliced it Hasselback-style (thin cuts, but not all the way through), brushed it with olive oil, sprinkled some seasoning, and roasted it until golden and caramelised. "The result? Soft, buttery squash with crispy edges—the perfect balance of texture and flavour. But here's the best part: cheap, easy, and packed with goodness. Butternut squash is loaded with vitamin A for glowing skin..." Crucially, Saira isn't alone in her thoughts. Specialists at the Cleveland Clinic also assert that vitamin C and beta-carotene, two other nutrients in squash, are especially beneficial for skin health. Some research even suggests that higher vitamin C intake may be linked to a lower likelihood of wrinkles. READ MORE: Andrea Mclean looks 'permanently dishevelled' with symptom after pneumonia Butternut squash isn't the only variant with possible benefits either. Winter, buttercup, and even spaghetti squash are among several types, all with different qualities. Registered dietitian Amber Sommer previously told Cleveland Clinic: "Nutritionally, butternut and acorn squash are arguably the overall [most valuable players], but it's by the slimmest, most subjective of margins. However, don't worry about choosing the healthiest squash. "Instead, choose the ones that taste best to you and try to eat a variety to get the most benefit from eating squash." Saira's insights come shortly after her life completely changed during a two-week fitness and yoga holiday. The TV star said it allowed her to recharge and kickstart significant lifestyle changes, while nourishing herself with the 'right foods'. "For the last two years, stress slowly crept into my life, settling deep within my body in ways I didn't even recognise at first," Saira wrote in a previous Instagram post. "I exercised. I ate what I thought was healthy. But I was also in denial—denial about the refined sugar I was consuming, about the way I was stuck in the exhausting cycle of exercising just to eat. "I blamed fat when in reality, what my body was screaming for me to see was inflammation. No amount of meditation, walks, or attempts at relaxation seemed to break through the invisible wall keeping me from truly healing. "My body bloated despite my efforts, weighed down by the stress and the silent choices I wasn't fully admitting to myself. Then, these last two weeks at @juicemasterretreats changed everything." Saira eliminated refined sugar, meat, and caffeine as part of her overhaul. Rather than focusing on losing weight, she aimed to 'reset' and alleviate the stress that had troubled her for so long. She continued: "And now, I see it. I feel it. I am here, and I got exactly what I came for—peace, healing, and the clarity that comes when you finally listen to what your body is trying to tell you. "Thank you @jasonvale for creating magic and always being so kind and generous to me."
