Salalah: The "Health Park" event, located within Salalah Public Park, marks a significant addition to the activities of Khareef Dhofar (monsoon) season 2025. This initiative aims to provide a comprehensive sports and recreational environment that promotes a healthy lifestyle and meets the expectations of visitors across all age groups. The event will run until 20 September 2025. Organised by the Dhofar Municipality, the event features a designated track for walking and jogging, alongside courts for tennis, volleyball, and basketball. These facilities foster an energetic sports atmosphere that supports a healthy lifestyle and enhances an integrated experience combining physical fitness with family entertainment amidst the moderate Khareef weather. With its modern amenities, the park offers a range of diverse sports challenges and activities suitable for all age groups, including children, youth, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. This reflects the initiative's inclusivity and its commitment to fostering community interaction. The park also hosts weekly events organised in a family-friendly, recreational atmosphere. Children's competitions are held every Friday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, while adult competitions are scheduled for Saturdays at the same time. It is worth noting that the "Health Park" event aims to develop motor skills, raise awareness about the importance of physical activity, and encourage all segments of society to adopt a healthy lifestyle within an interactive and stimulating environment.

"Osara" project: A coastal tourist, entertainment destination for Khareef Dhofar's season
Salalah: The "Osara" tourism project, situated on Raysut Beach in Salalah, stands out as a prominent tourist and entertainment destination accompanying Khareef Dhofar's (monsoon) season 2025. This Omani youth-led initiative launched in 2022. This year, "Osara" has undergone new developmental works across several of its facilities, including a redesigned waterfront to enhance the visitor experience. This involved expanding sea-view areas, creating open seating arrangements, and adding restaurants and cafes that offer direct beach views. Majid Samhan Al Mashali, one of the project's founders, told Oman News Agency: "Since the project's inception, we have been keen to introduce innovative ideas that align with visitors' aspirations. We continuously strive to develop various 'Osara' facilities to enhance the quality of the tourism experience." He noted the addition of a new area for electric games this year within the adventure zone, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for children and their families. In addition to the waterfront and games area, the site features a traditional market showcasing Omani handicrafts and traditional products for which Dhofar Governorate is renowned. Various retail outlets are also distributed throughout the venue, contributing to the support of productive families and local brands. "Osara" also includes a theater that hosts cultural and entertainment events targeting various age groups, alongside tranquil beachside seating areas that combine recreation and relaxation. It is worth mentioning that the "Osara" project boasts an eco-friendly character, having been constructed using recycled wood, making it a model for sustainable tourism. "Osara" receives support from Dhofar Municipality, the SMEs Development Authority 'Riyada', and Salalah Port, as part of efforts to back youth initiatives and empower local entrepreneurs to contribute to boosting tourism activity during the Khareef season.

OOMCO launches the Oman Oil Bazaar
Salalah, Oman: As part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility and strengthening the role of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the national economy, Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMCO), in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, has launched the 'Oman Oil Bazaar', the first initiative of its kind in the Sultanate. It will continue over a 45-day tour across several governorates, concluding on 31 August, 2025. The event features 20 SMEs showcasing a diverse range of products, giving them valuable opportunities to engage directly with the public and expand their customer base. This initiative aims to empower Omani entrepreneurs, increase their market presence, promote local products, and highlight their creativity to thousands of visitors from within Oman and abroad. Commenting on the launch, Khamis Nasser Al Shuaibi, General Manager of Shared Services at OOMCO, said: 'We are proud to introduce the 'Oman Oil Bazaar' in partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority. This initiative underscores our commitment to supporting SMEs by providing them a platform to reach more customers. Earthquake recorded in Arabian Sea
Muscat: An earthquake was recorded in the Arabian Sea on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, the Earthquake Monitoring Centre (EMC) at Sultan Qaboos University said. A statement issued online by the EMC said: "An earthquake in the Arabian Sea with a magnitude of 5.3, at 2.02 pm MCT and at a depth of 10 km has been recorded. The earthquake was recorded 235 km away from Salalah."
