Nasser Centre for Science and Technology becomes first accredited training partner for CREST cybersecurity programmes in the Gulf

The Nasser Centre for Science and Technology has achieved a strategic milestone by becoming the first accredited training partner in the Gulf region to offer CREST (Council of Registered Ethical Security Testers) cybersecurity training programmes. This accreditation strengthens Bahrain's position as a regional hub for cybersecurity excellence, aligning with international standards. This achievement is part of the collaboration between the Nasser Centre for Science and Technology and the National Cybersecurity Centre, reflecting Bahrain's vision of building an integrated cybersecurity ecosystem. It also supports the implementation of the National Cybersecurity Strategy, which focuses on developing national talent, enhancing digital readiness, and establishing global partnerships to strengthen cybersecurity in the Kingdom. The certification ceremony was attended by Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chief Executive of the National Cybersecurity Centre, Dr. Abdulla bin Nasser Al Noaimi, Chief Executive of the Nasser Centre for Science and Technology, a delegation from CREST International, and senior officials and experts in Bahrain's cybersecurity sector. The event recognised the centre's commitment to training highly skilled professionals capable of safeguarding digital systems and addressing modern cybersecurity challenges. The ceremony also included the recognition of participants in the CREST CAMP, an initiative aimed at accelerating cybersecurity maturity, organised by the National Cybersecurity Centre and the Nasser Centre for Science and Technology. Additionally, supporting institutions and industry leaders were honoured for their contributions to cybersecurity development. CREST accreditation marks a significant milestone for the Nasser Centre for Science and Technology's role in vocational education and training. The centre now offers advanced cybersecurity training for secondary school students through the Cybersecurity Academy, which prepares young specialists under the age of 18 with globally recognised curricula. It also provides professional training for experts in the technology sector through its vocational training division, offering specialised programmes designed to enhance workforce capabilities in cybersecurity. Through these initiatives, the centre continues to align its training solutions with evolving labour market needs and cybersecurity requirements. This reinforces its position as a leading institution for advanced training solutions in the fast changing cybersecurity sector. CREST is a global non-profit organisation that sets international accreditation standards for cybersecurity professionals and institutions. It ensures that certified entities offer trusted, internationally recognised services that adhere to global best practices. With this accreditation, the Nasser Centre for Science and Technology is now authorised to provide training programmes that grant internationally recognised qualifications. This expands opportunities for trainees in the job market and enhances their capabilities in protecting national digital infrastructure with efficiency and professionalism. The centre remains committed to training future cybersecurity specialists, following the launch of the Cybersecurity Academy in 2023. This initiative contributes to Bahrain's digital transformation and strengthens its position as a regional hub for innovation and cybersecurity training.
