The Boston Celtics have a tough schedule for the 2025 NBA Cup

The Boston Celtics have a tough schedule for the 2025 NBA Cup. Or at least that is the point of view of the hosts of the CLNS Media "How Bout Them Celtics!" podcast, Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance, in a recent episode of their show that came out with the release of the NBA's 2025-26 regular season schedule. The Celtics have found themselves placed into the Eastern Conference's Group B for this year's cup play, which will have them take on the the Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic, Brooklyn Nets, and Detroit Pistons. With only the Magic looking like a lock to be a home court team and the Pistons a likely winning ball club by the end of the season, the Celtics have a real shot of winning their group this year, but it won't be easy with Orlando looking much better. Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about Boston's NBA Cup outlook and more! Where will the Boston Celtics be in terms of wins and losses without Jayson Tatum?

Where will the Boston Celtics end up in terms of wins and losses in a season without Jayson Tatum? The Celtics will be playing in one of the weakest Eastern Conference milieus in years, but their loss of the St. Louis native (and several other members of their 2024 title core) is not a small part of the reason why the East is projected to be especially weak this year. It is safe to say that it would take a miracle for Boston to keep up with teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knicks, and perhaps with the Orlando Magic and Atlanta Hawks as well. The Celtics should be better than the tank commanding ball clubs like the Washington Wizards and Brooklyn Nets, but what about teams like the Indiana Pacers, Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks, and Philadelphia 76ers? The hosts of "Havlicek Stole the Pod" linked up with the cohost of the CLNS Media "How Bout Them Celtics!" podcast, Sam LaFrance, to take stock of the projected wins and losses of the Celtics and the rest of the East, as well as to size up recent trades (Georges Niang), signings (Chris Boucher) and extensions (Joe Mazzulla) made by the team. Havlicek Stole the Pod 12: East over-unders, plus Mazzulla extension, Boucher deal with Sam LaFrance

With both the Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers down their best players heading into the 2025-26 NBA regular season, it is safe to say that the league's Eastern Conference is going to be having a down year. But just how bad is a down year going to be in a conference that has rightfully had the reputation of being the worse of the two by a notable margin for over a decade now? There are some familiar faces among the tank commanders in the Washington Wizards and Brooklyn Nets, but there are also cases to be made that the Charlotte Hornets and Philadelphia 76ers will trade in their tanks for a competent approach to the season. Most analysts agree that the top of the East is the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks to lose, but do the Orlando Magic, Atlanta Hawks, and Milwaukee Bucks have anything to say about that? And speaking of Boston and Indiana, where exactly do we think these two enigmatic rosters will end up? To get a bead on how the East might look next season, the cohosts of "Havlicek Stole the Pod" linked up with cohost of the CLNS Media "How Bout Them Celtics!" podcast, Sam LaFrance. We also get into the flurry of late-offseason moves made by Boston, from the Chris Boucher signing to the Joe Mazzulla extension and the rest of the news still percolating into the month of August, so be sure to tune in. Latest Kristaps Porzingis update might give Boston Celtics fans some regret

The latest Kristaps Porzingis update might give Boston Celtics fans some regret. The Boston big man alum was just photographed suiting up for the Latvian National Team to play in FIBA action soon, and looked like he was in much better health than he was when he was playing for the Celtics. Boston of course elected to trade away the Latvian center in order to get their cap hits under the NBA's second apron and all the team building penalties that status brings with it, sending KP to the Atlanta Hawks in return for Georges Niang and said cap relief. After how he played for the Celtics in the 2025 NBA Playoffs, the move was not exactly unwelcome for many Boston fans. But will they feel regret if he reverts to the sort of player the Celtics hoped they were getting when they traded for him? Cohost of the CLNS Media "How Bout Them Celtics!" podcast, Sam LaFrance, took some time to talk it over with guest Bobby Krivitsky of Forbes and Hardwood Houdini fame. Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about a potential Porzingis resurgence from a Boston point of view.
