Sanam Johar opens up about his passion for tattoos; says ‘In a fragile world, tattoos are permanent'
Actor and choreographer Sanam Johar, known for his roles in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin and various dance reality shows, recently shared his deep passion for tattoos, coinciding with Tattoo Day on July 17. The actor not only sports eight to nine tattoos himself but also owns two tattoo studios in Mumbai, marking his serious commitment to this art form. 'In the life today when everything is fragile, nothing is permanent. This permanence is a key factor I enjoy about tattoo. I'm passionate about them and have good 8 to 9 tattoos inked,' Sanam said, expressing how tattoos symbolize stability in an otherwise fleeting world. Reflecting on his first tattoo, Sanam recalled, 'My first tattoo was probably in 2010, when I got inked 'Ek Onkar' on my left hand. It is very special to me representing the concept of the oneness of God. I have chosen this tattoo because I totally believe and appreciate its message of unity and faith.' Sanam highlighted how tattoos have evolved into mainstream expressions of individuality. 'Tattoos have evolved from niche subculture symbols to widely accepted forms of personal expression and artistic display, becoming a significant trend in modern society. Not just me but my family, from my mom to sisters we all are passionate about tattoos. We all have inked a good number of tattoos.' Talking about his tattoo studios, he credited his mother for the business idea. 'Today I own 2 tattoo studios in Mumbai and the credit behind goes to my mom (Mrs. Kamini). She's into business and after she shifted Mumbai, it was her to bless me with this beautiful business idea. It's been around two years now when we inaugurated our first studio in Bandra and recently we came up with the second one in Navi Mumbai.' Besides tattoos, Sanam is also celebrated for his choreography on shows like Nach Baliye and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, as well as his charming presence in the web entertainment space.

The show, which once dominated the TRP charts with its gripping storylines and fan-favorite leads, has reportedly failed to maintain its momentum after its most recent generation leap. Introduced with fresh faces Sanam Johar, Param Singh, and Vaibhavi Hankare, the post-leap storyline struggled to strike a chord with viewers. Despite efforts to reintroduce Bhavika Sharma as Savi and incorporating multiple twists and turns, the ratings have continued to dip. Amid these swirling rumors, Param Singh, who plays Dr. Neil Pradhan, spoke to India Forums and clarified, 'I have no idea about the off-air news. We haven't received any official confirmation." However, sources suggest that the channel has already made internal decisions. Reports indicate that the show, which originally aired during the coveted 8:00 PM prime-time slot, was recently shifted to a 6:30 PM slot in an attempt to salvage the numbers—a move that often signals trouble. Adding fuel to speculation, it's also believed that Sanam Johar might be exiting the show soon. With dwindling TRPs and failed revival strategies, the makers have allegedly decided to pull the plug. The final episode is expected to air in the first week of July 2025, and is said to be an emotional farewell to a show that once ruled Indian households. Over the years, Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin has seen numerous changes in its cast and story arcs. It began with Neil Bhatt, Ayesha Singh, and Aishwarya Sharma, then transitioned into a second generation led by Bhavika Sharma, Shakti Arora, and Sumit Singh. Since June 2024, Bhavika returned alongside Hitesh Bharadwaj and Amayra Khurana to steer the third generation. New Delhi: Latest update on Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin might disappoint fans. As per a report in ETimes, Sanam Johar, who plays the role of Ruturaj, is set to exit the show. As per a source, Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin 's storyline will change, and there is no scope for Sanam's character. "There are new tracks getting introduced in the show with Savi's character returning. Ruturaj's character shall not be a part of the track further," the insider revealed. Sanam Johar made his television acting debut with Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin earlier this year. In an interview with The Times Of India, the actor said, "It is my TV debut in fiction. Yes, it comes as a responsibility to take forward the legacy of the show. I feel my utmost loyalty will be the key, I will be true to my character. I will try to bring as much to the table, and I'm really looking forward to it." Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin premiered in October 2020 with Ayesha Singh, Neil Bhatt, and Aishwarya Sharma in the lead roles. The second generation featured Bhavika Sharma, Shakti Arora, Sumit Singh, Hitesh Bharadwaj and Amayra Khurana. In January 2025, the show introduced Vaibhavi Hankare, Param Singh, and Sanam Johar as third-generation leads. Earlier this month, Bhavika Sharma made a comeback to Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, replacing Vaibhavi as the new female lead.
