Why it is important to introduce meditation to kids at this age

A lifetime of mindfulness and self-awareness can be cultivated by introducing meditation to your child in a way that makes it enjoyable and upbeat. Adults typically believe that a practice should be kept quiet. They might be more conscious of the results they hope to achieve from meditation, such as greater focus, relaxation, or a calmer mind. Children's meditation is more lively and less silent. Youngsters probably won't always maintain their focus or sit quietly for extended amounts of time. Continuous practicing for one to two minutes might be considered a significant victory. Gupta Kaushik, founder, Mrigakshi Foundation, 'When we talk about guiding kids through transformative spiritual practices, we have witnessed a concerning shift in our children's mental landscape. Today's generation faces unprecedented digital overstimulation, academic pressure, and social anxiety that previous generations never encountered. The window between ages 6-14 represents the most neuroplastic period of human development, where the brain's capacity to form positive neural pathways is at its peak. ' Why teaching meditation to kids is necessary When we introduce meditation to children at this crucial age, we're not just teaching them a practice—we're installing a lifelong operating system for emotional regulation and inner peace. I've observed remarkable transformations: hyperactive children finding focus, anxious students developing confidence, and aggressive behavior dissolving into compassion. Types of simple meditation for kids Breathing techniques Practicing mindfulness with breathing techniques can be enjoyable. Instruct your youngster to breathe deeply and slowly while visualizing the scent of a flower or the blowing up of a balloon. In addition to aiding in relaxing, this helps them focus on the here and now. Observing clouds Together, lie down on a cozy blanket and observe the passing clouds. Have your child imagine what each cloud looks like as they observe its sizes, forms, and motions. They are inspired to slow down and interact with the world in a calm, creative manner by this easy exercise. Listening to music In order to listen to music thoughtfully, one must focus on the various instruments, rhythms, and melodies. Ask your youngster to close their eyes and describe the sounds they hear or the feelings the music evokes in order to promote a more concentrated listening experience. Deep rooted in Indian Sankaras The ancient wisdom of our Sanatan traditions understood this perfectly—childhood was considered the ideal time for establishing 'sanskaras,' or positive mental impressions. Today's neuroscience validates what our sages knew intuitively: early meditation practice literally rewires the developing brain for resilience, creativity, and emotional intelligence. We're not just preparing children for academic success; we're gifting them tools for lifelong fulfillment and inner strength. "Op Sindoor is valour of our army": Baba Ramdev hails IAF after it strikes terror camps

Kurukshetra (Haryana) [India], June 1 (ANI): Calling Operation Sindoor the valour of the Indian Armed Forces (IAF), Yog Guru Baba Ramdev said that the operation symbolises the unity and integrity of the country. Speaking to ANI, Baba Ramdev said that India is well aware of how to protect its borders and its nation. 'We have killed them (terrorists) by entering 100-200 kilometres inside their home. PM Modi said that Operation Sindoor had not stopped. Operation Sindoor is the valour of our army. It is a symbol of the unity and integrity of the country, and this is the army of the new India. India knows how to protect its borders and its nation,' he told ANI. India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in response to the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives, including one Nepali citizen. Yog guru Baba Ramdev further said that India is, by nature, a Hindu nation. He said, in the coming times, he aims to connect 500 crore people of the world with yoga, spirituality and the values of Sanatan. 'India is a Hindu nation by nature, and the ancestors of those who call themselves Muslims, Christians or by any other name were also Hindus, Indians and worshippers of nature and culture; this is the ultimate truth. Now, gradually, everyone has started believing this... In the coming times, our aim is to connect more than 500 crore people of the whole world with yoga, spirituality and the values of Sanatan and this is the world victory journey of Sanatan Dharma,' Baba Ramdev asserted. Earlier, backing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's push for locally made products, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has called on citizens to wholeheartedly adopt 'Swadeshi' (indigenous) goods and services to help build a stronger and self-reliant India. Highlighting the economic dimension of the Swadeshi movement, Ramdev urged citizens to boycott products from China, the United States, and Europe. Speaking to ANI on Tuesday, Ramdev said, 'The people should support PM Modi's call for 'swadeshi' products because the PM wants to achieve the aim of the 'Viksit Bharat' and wants to make the country an economic and spiritual superpower. To achieve this, we need to boycott products from China, the US, and Europe. The day India starts using 'swadeshi', our economy will get stronger, and the Indian rupee will also become stronger against the Dollar, Pound, and Euro.' He also emphasised the importance of embracing traditional Indian practices in healthcare. 'In the health sector, we should opt for Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy,' he said. Ramdev also appealed to Indians to reconsider travel to foreign countries, particularly those he claimed are involved in anti-India activities. 'We should avoid making trips to foreign nations, specifically to countries like Turkey.' (ANI)

Radico Khaitan's share dips as its 'Trikal' brand sparks major controversy

Homegrown liquor company Radico Khaitan saw its share closing in the red on Monday, after it drew a mega controversy for hurting religious sentiments via offering a new whisky brand titled 'Trikal,' that refers to the Hindu deity Shiva . Shares of Radico Khaitan, known for brands such as 8PM, Magic Moments, Royal Ranthambore, Rampur Single Malt, After Dark, Morpheus, Contessa and Jaisalmer, fell Rs 12.60 (0.51 per cent) to close at Rs 2,440.00 - after witnessing an intra-day rise which subsided as the controversy erupted over its 'Trikal' Indian single malt. Radico Khaitan's 52-week low has been Rs 1,429.85 per share, with its 52-week high at Rs 2,665.00 per share. The whisky is priced between Rs 3,500 and Rs 4,500, and debuts in key markets including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Maharashtra, with plans for a wider national and global rollout in the coming months. Radico's Managing Director Abhishek Khaitan has positioned its launch as a milestone in the company's premiumisation journey. However, religious gurus, Sanatan Dharam organisations and politicians on Monday lashed out at the company for naming its product as 'Trikal', and demanding immediate withdrawal of the product. The whisky bottle with a teal label also carries a line-drawn figure of a face with closed eyes and a circle on the forehead - allegedly similar to Lord Shiva's third eye. Mahant Raju Das Maharaj of Ayodhya Dham said, "I appeal to the owners of Radico Khaitan, please understand, recognise and respect Sanatan Dharma. India is a country rooted in Sanatan culture, where every particle reflects its vastness. Every individual holds deep faith, devotion and reverence for Sanatan..." Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) National Spokesperson Vinod Bansal said, "It is very unfortunate that not only in our country but in many parts of the world, images of Hindu deities, their symbols and the centres of our faith are being displayed disrespectfully, sometimes on slippers, sometimes on shoes, sometimes on bikinis and sometimes on clothing. This is extremely condemnable, shameful and entirely disrespectful." BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal said, "It is a matter of serious concern that companies adopt our religious names for their promotions and personal gain." Seeking withdrawal of such products or their renaming, the MP said, "I demand that these companies immediately change such names. Any name connected to our culture and heritage deserves respect, and using it in a disrespectful manner is deeply embarrassing for all of us." Mahamandleshwar Swami Shaileshanand Giri Maharaj also decried the company's use of a controversial name to gain publicity. Seeking immediate check on using such religiously sensitive terms for publicity, he said, "Today they are talking about 'Trikal'; tomorrow it might be about 'Tridev'. They must understand that this is not appropriate. For this, they need to set their own moral standards and adopt ethical values." --IANS na-rch
