Amanah targets Tanjung Aru, Karambunai, Lumadan, and Sulabayan
Published on: Saturday, May 17, 2025 Published on: Sat, May 17, 2025 Text Size: Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) plans to contest four Sabah State Legislative Assembly seats in the upcoming 17th State Election , targeting Tanjung Aru, Karambunai, Lumadan, and Sulabayan. According to its National Election Director, Mohd Sani Hamzan, the seats are located in the Putatan, Sepanggar, Sipitang, and Semporna parliamentary constituencies. Advertisement Sani noted that the final decision would depend on negotiations with Pakatan Harapan and other coalition partners. He emphasized that these four seats are the party's main focus. State Amanah Chairman Lahirul Latigu meanwhile added that discussions with PH have been 70 to 80pc completed. "Further talks are planned after PKR's elections. Amanah is also set to engage with Barisan Nasional following the Unity Government's recent announcement. "Amanah's membership in Sabah has grown to 18 districts, and we aim to continue expanding," he told a press conference today. Indian-American student Jay Sani attacked for wearing MAGA hat: 'You had a chance in November to oust him'
Indian-American Jay Sani was attacked near Washington State University for wearing a MAGA hat. A 25-year-old Indian-American student Jay Sani , pursuing electrical engineering at Washington State University, was assaulted by a staff member, Patrick Mahoney , as Sani was wearing a MAGA hat. The hat had "Trump 2024 TAKE AMERICA BACK" written on it. The incident took place on February 28 but outrage over it continues as more details of the incident emerged. Sani was attacked outside The Coug, a popular bar near the campus. 34-year-old Mahoney allegedly grabbed Sani's hat and threw it into the street. Sani responded by tossing his food bag toward Mahoney. Then another person, Gerald Hoff, a 24-year-old research assistant, joined Mahoney to take Sani down. Mahoney reportedly slammed Sani's head into the pavement. "I've seen this guy f**king on campus before. I know he's like, f**king like, right-wing dude," Mahoney said. "I, like, grabbed his hat, threw it, and I said like, "Go get it."' Mahoney and Hoff were arrested and charged with fourth-degree misdemeanor assault. Mahoney has been active in pro-Palestinian demonstrations, including advocating for the Pullman City Council to sign a Gaza ceasefire resolution.

TUI launches 1,200 new hotels including Greece, Turkey, Canaries and Balearics
TUI has launched 1,200 hotels for summer 2026 holidays offering customers thousands more resorts to choose from. 380 new hotels in Greece, 100 additional properties in Turkey, 118 hotels in the Canary Islands and 145 properties across the Balearic Islands are now available to customers. Notable additions include six new IKOS hotels and three Sani resorts in Greece, the award-winning TUI BLUE Barut Andiz and brand-new Land of Legends Nickelodeon Hotels & Resort in Turkey. With flights operating from 24 regional airports across the UK, an additional 50 long-haul hotels have also been added. Further resorts will be available to popular value-for-money destinations in Africa and the Middle East, including Cape Verde, Morocco and Egypt – alongside Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
