Vijay Sethupathi-Nithya Menen's film titled ‘Thalaivan Thalaivii'; title teaser out
We had previously reported that actors Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen are starring in director Pandiraaj's next. Now, on Saturday (May 3), the makers announced that the film's been titled Thalaivan Thalaivii. Sathya Jyothi Films, the banner backing the film, unveiled a title teaser to announce the news. The hilarious teaser begins with shots of parottas being made on a hot tawa, with voiceovers from Arasi's (Nithya) in-laws and to-be husband (Vijay) who promise to treat her like a queen. When the camera zooms out, the hands making the parottas are revealed to be those of Arasi and her husband. When Arasi questions him about whether this is what he meant by treating her like a queen, a quarrel ensues. The later portions of the teaser show actor Yogi Babu's character utter a famous meme dialogue, before cutting into a montage of shots from the film. Billed as a 'rugged love story,' Thalaivan Thalaivii marks a reunion between Vijay and Nithya after the Malayalam film 19(1)(a). With music scored by Santhosh Narayanan, the film has cinematography by M Sukumar and editing by Pradeep E Ragav. Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan produce the film under their Sathya Jyothi Films banner.

Thalaivan Thalaivii teaser: Vijay Sethupathi, Nithya Menen's marriage turns rocky in Pandiraaj's ‘rugged love story'
Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen are reuniting three years after their Malayalam film, Indhu VS' 19(1)(a). This time, it's for Pandiraaj's Tamil film Thalaivan Thalaivii. The makers dropped the title teaser on Saturday, revealing the name of the film, which was being referred to as 'VJS 52' so far. The teaser starts with a close-up shot of food being cooked. In the background, the mother-in-law is heard saying in Tamil, 'You don't have to cook at all, my dear daughter-in-law. We will treat you like royalty!' The sister-in-law's voice follows: 'You don't have to worry at all, Arasi. You can forsake any number of people for my brother's sake.' Then Vijay Sethupathi's voice says, 'You have left your parents behind and came with me in full trust. You parents will feel bad they didn't love you to this extent. Wait and watch. I will treat you as the queen of my heart.' The next second, we see that the cooking gets far more aggressive as Sethupathi and Menen's characters use big blades in the same tawa, as if at loggerheads with each other. 'According to you, is this the way a king pampers his queen?,' she asks. 'If you don't like me, go back to your father's place,' hits back Sethupathi. 'Of course, to me, my home is a palace,' says Menen. They sarcastically refer to each other as 'sir' and 'madam', respectively, much to each other's chagrin. 'I wonder why I got on to your bike, sir,' says Nithya Menen, to which Vijay Sethupathi sharply retorts, 'Get down, madam, and go your way! Who stopped you?' Menen loses it, points a finger at her husband, and says, 'If you say one more word, I'll rub your face in this parotta pan!' A riled Sethupathi then covers his mouth with a scarf and continues to mumble. 'Even after gagging, you can't zip your lips,' says Menen. Yogi Babu then pops up, looks into the camera, and says, 'Guys, they are not normal people like us. Take my word for it. Please.' The next instant, we see a twist in the tale as Sethupathi fires a gun on the ground in front of a bunch of people, including Menen, who looks scared and concerned. Srinidhi Shetty reflects on KGF franchise success, reveals film with Kiccha Sudeep is ‘on hold': ‘I don't carry the baggage'
Actress Srinidhi Shetty is gearing up for the release of HIT 3, which marks her Telugu debut. Since her breakout role in the 2018 film KGF: Chapter 1, she has appeared in only three films. In an interview with SCREEN, Srinidhi opened up about her approach to choosing roles and also reflected on the phenomenal success of the KGF franchise. Sharing why she has been so choosy with her projects, Srinidhi explained, 'It comes from a very honest space. But, yes, my family and friends were not very happy that I was not taking up many movies, so that pressure was there. If my heart is not in something, I cannot do it. That also happened at the beginning of my career. I was working in an IT firm. It was for the sake of getting a monthly pay cheque, but my heart wasn't in it. For a middle-class family girl to just quit everything without any backing and so many loans, if I have to do what my heart wills, it takes some amount of belief, and there is no logical understanding there. So, if I like a film and the team, I do it. It didn't work out for me in the last two and a half years, but I am glad things fell into place with this one.' Talking about KGF and how her life changed with the franchise, Srinidhi said, 'I am very grateful for KGF. I was a part of KGF, but Prashant had created that world, and Yash was the face of it. I happened to be a part of it and got fame and brand name. But once I am done with something, I don't carry the baggage. Yes, it is my first film and that will always be very special, but I don't carry KGF's weight with me and walk. I don't gloat about my previous glory.' When asked about an update on her next film with Kiccha Sudeep, Srinidhi said, 'It was a Tamil production with Sathya Jyothi Films. It is right now a little bit on hold. We are waiting for an update from the production house.' Srinidhi added that she is open to working in Bollywood if the right script comes her way. HIT 3 will release in theaters on May 1, 2025.
