Victoria and David Beckham narrowly avoid awkward run-in with Brooklyn in St Tropez
The feud surrounding David and Victoria Beckham and their son, Brooklyn, is still rumbling on - despite Sir Elton John's best efforts at playing peacekeeper Victoria and David Beckham narrowly avoided a red-faced run-in with their firstborn, Brooklyn, and his wife in St Tropez last week. The Beckhams were in the south of France for their annual jaunt onboard a luxury £16 million yacht with their kids Romeo and Harper after Brooklyn and Nicola were seen larking about on the heiress' father's boat nearby. Brooklyn and Nicola were spotted just 48 hours before the Beckhams arrived in St Tropez having a slap-up lunch with the wannabe chef's godfather, Sir Elton John, who reportedly tried to play peacekeeper between Brooklyn and his parents. However, despite the Sorry star's best efforts, the feud appears to be rumbling on after Brooklyn and Nicola swerved David's 50th birthday celebrations in May amid reports the 26-year-old was angry with his family for the way they had allegedly treated Nicola. Brooklyn's siblings Harper and Romeo were the first to be spotted in St Tropez, with smiles a mile wide onboard a speedboat. It comes after the former photographer unfollowed both Romeo and younger brother Cruz on Instagram, with one source claiming there was "no way back" for the famous family. Also seen lapping up the luxury at sea were Victoria and David as they treated Harper and Romeo to dinner onboard the family's yacht while Cruz and girlfriend Jackie Apostle reportedly soaked up the sun elsewhere in the star-studded town. It comes as Brooklyn and Nicola shared snaps of themselves, appearing to be in the UK, while the Beckhams were in France. The husband and wife are said to have jetted into Blighty for the weekend and seemed to be enjoying downtime in the English countryside. It comes after Victoria and David's close friend, Elton, reportedly tried his best to oil the wheels of peace between the Beckhams as Brooklyn's concerned godfather. The music legend recently hosted the self-confessed 'nutter in the kitchen' and his wife for lunch in Cannes alongside his husband, David Furnish. The gathering took place at the upscale La Guerite beach club, where the group reportedly addressed the strained family dynamics. 'Elton is the showbiz equivalent of Switzerland,' a source told The Sun in relation to the star's peace-keeping attempts, adding: 'He's utterly neutral in this row.' And while the Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting) star may have previously leaned into celebrity rivalries, such as his past feud with Madonna, those close to him say he's now more interested in maintaining peace. The source continued: 'Elton of old may have relished in taking sides - in this case his young godson, Brooklyn, but two years off his 80th birthday, he's a man who has seen and done it all. He just wants everyone to be happy."

Dan Aykroyd explains why he skipped 'SNL 50' special and reveals moment that made him emotional watching at home
Aykroyd is still a devoted viewer of "Saturday Night Live" to this day. After all these years, Dan Aykroyd still isn't ready for primetime, but in this case, it was his choice. Earlier this year, Aykroyd, who broke out as an original member of the Saturday Night Live cast in the 1970s, was noticeably absent from the SNL 50 anniversary special. But he's still close to his Studio 8H roots and is even releasing a forthcoming graphic novel that continues the story of the Blues Brothers, one of his most iconic SNL characters. As it turns out, Aykroyd loves the NBC sketch show so much that he actively chose to sit out the 50th so that he could watch the special without interruption from home. "I wanted to be at home and I wanted to watch the show beginning to end," Aykroyd reveals to Entertainment Weekly while stopping by our video studio at Comic-Con 2025. "I knew if i was there, I'd be in a dressing room, I'd be working," he continues. "I wanted to see it live. I'm a fan of the show today, and I watch it all the time. I love these new players; I think they're just great. I just wanted to see and live nostalgically with my family in my own home, eating my own popcorn." Several of Aykroyd's fellow original cast members were present, however, including Laraine Newman and Jane Curtin. Newman even did a sketch with more recent alum Pete Davidson in which she reminisced about her time on the show, while Davidson reprised his recurring character of Chad, responding "Okay" to Newman's heartfelt memories. Newman and Curtin also were responsible for one of the night's most moving moments, holding up a photograph of the late Gilda Radner during the cast's goodbyes at the end of the show. "Lorraine's piece definitely," Aykroyd responds when asked about what segment of the show made him most emotional. "That was beautiful. That was wonderful." Aykroyd also reminisces about his time making The Blues Brothers alongside blues legends that he grew up admiring. He remembers his time filming with Aretha Franklin in the diner in particular, noting that he was incredibly nervous to be sharing the screen with her. "As soon as she started to sing, I got a feeling in my stomach," he shares. "When I stood up off the stool, I thought my legs were going to buckle.""Jake and Elwood are still in jail in 1997, and now they're trophies and no one wants to let them go," Aykroyd teases of the book, which hits shelves on Oct. 7. "And the story picks up from there." Aykroyd also weighed in on Dylan O'Brien's portrayal of him in last year's Saturday Night. Watch his full interview in the livestream above. Check out more of . Stars of new stage show had to learn about the music by seventies Scots superstars the Bay City Rollers
'I had no idea how big Rollermania had been. But when I told my mum I'd be working with Woody she nearly fainted' ROLLERMANIA Stars of new stage show had to learn about the music by seventies Scots superstars the Bay City Rollers BAY City Rollers legend Stuart 'Woody' Wood launched a musical about the seventies chart-toppers- with stage stars who had never heard of the seventies supergroup until they were cast in the show. The former pin-up joined actresses Chiara Sparkes, 28, and Dani Heron, 37, who will appear in Rollers Forever as die-hard fans of the tartan supergroup when it debuts at Glasgow's Pavilion Theatre next month. 4 Stuart "Woody" Wood outside The Glasgow Pavilion where Rollers Forever will debut in August 2025. 4 Actor Joe Gill, Chiara Sparkes, Dani Heron and playwright Danny McCahon with Woody in the Pavilion. 4 The classic Bay City Rollers from the 70s with Woody second from the right. But the pals admit the group's classic songs including Bye, Bye Baby, Saturday Night, and Shang-a-Lang that they'll perform on stage, were all new to them. Chiara from Glasgow, said: 'I had never heard of the Bay City Rollers, but it was funny because when I started singing the songs, I kind of knew them - I just didn't realise they had been by the Rollers.' Dani, from Paisley adds: 'I had no idea how big Rollermania had been. But when I told my mum I'd be working with Woody she nearly fainted.' Woody, 68, said: 'It's great that the story is being told through the eyes of the Bay City Rollers fans. It will be full of pure nostalgia, great songs and great fun and hopefully transport the fans back to the most incredible times.' One of those incredible times happened 50 years ago at a Radio One Roadshow at Mallory Park Race Circuit in Leicestershire descended into utter chaos when the Tartan boy band performed on an island only to see hundreds of their devotees try to swim across a lake to meet them. With local police losing control of the situation, quick thinking DJ Tony Blackburn leapt into a speedboat with someone dressed the Wombles character Uncle Bulgaria to pluck the stricken youngsters from the water. But Stuart insists the infamous day is even madder than that as Bay City Rollers frontman Les McKeown - who went on to have a battle with booze and drugs - had actually flown the chart-toppers to the event by private aircraft with his newly acquired pilot's licence. Stuart says: 'At the time it was just another day in the life of being a Roller. Every day was pandemonium. 'But what makes it stick in the memory is because Les was flying us that day. 'Les had just gained his pilot's licence and he flew us up to Mallory Park from a gig we'd been doing in Southampton. Original lead singer of The Bay City Rollers returns 50 years after fall out 'It was a small plane, one of these six seater jobs and we landed near the roadshow. Who knows how we got insurance for that - a rookie pilot in his early 20s flying the No1 group in the country. 'We then got the helicopter into Mallory Park and onto a boat to the island to be interviewed before we did the gig. 'I was only 18 at the time so it was all a laugh, although I certainly wouldn't have got into a plane with Les flying in his latter days - we'd have been the first band on the moon.' He added: 'We had our security guards with us as we got on this boat, but then the fans spotted us at the otherside of the water and you could see them running down the hills towards us. 'It was like something out of Braveheart because they were all charging at us while wearing tartan. 'They then leapt into the water and were scrambling towards our boat, which was tipping over. 'The police and security were really struggling and it was quite scary because so many girls were in the water. 'I wasn't worried about us, but the girls could have easily been tangled in the weeds and have come to harm. So I was concerned for them.' Rollers Forever, featuring the songs of the legendary Bay City Rollers - opened at the Pavilion Theatre, Glasgow from August 19–30.

Brooklyn Beckham sparks fan fury for 'totally unnecessary' comment
Brooklyn Beckham has faced a backlash from fans following his comment on his wife's stunning photograph. Nicola Peltz, 30, ensured she commanded attention in the risqué image, which she confidently shared on Instagram whilst posing flawlessly in the bath - completely naked. The billionaire heiress wrote alongside the picture: "Best memories" accompanied by a series of holiday emojis, whilst devoted husband Brooklyn, 26, enthused: "I took the photo in the bath" followed by a love heart. Nevertheless, fans were clearly unimpressed by his reaction, with numerous followers criticising him in the comments section. Describing the response as 'completely unnecessary', one remarked: "Hey, every time we know you took the photo, don't have to say it every time," reports the Mirror. Another responded: "Well, that should get some tabloid coverage" whilst a third remarked: "He has no choice! He has to do everything she says." The image shared by Nicola Peltz. Meanwhile, a fourth raged: "We get it, you guys love each other. Maybe spend more time telling each other than telling the world." Nevertheless, there were some supportive responses, as one admirer commented: "Some nasty comments from jealous people! Wow ... be better. They're a beautiful young couple who happen to be rich ! Good luck to them I say." This emerges as the rift between the pair and the Beckham clan persists, with Brooklyn and Nicola displaying no indication of reconciling with David and Victoria following their absence from the England legend's 50th birthday celebrations in May. Brooklyn and his brothers, Romeo and Cruz, also refuse to follow one another on Instagram as speculation about sibling rivalry continues to mount. As the rift persists, Brooklyn's godfather, Sir Elton John, has allegedly intervened to attempt restoring harmony after entertaining the aspiring chef and Nicola in Cannes. The musical icon, 78, recently treated the young pair to lunch in the celebrity hotspot alongside husband David Furnish. The meeting occurred at the exclusive La Guerite beach club, where the group supposedly discussed the tense family situation. "Elton is the showbiz equivalent of Switzerland," a source told The Sun regarding Elton's mediation efforts. "He's utterly neutral in this row." And whilst the Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting) star may have previously embraced celebrity feuds, such as his former spat with Madonna, those around him say he's now more focused on preserving harmony. The insider revealed: "Elton of old may have relished in taking sides - in this case his young godson, Brooklyn, but two years off his 80th birthday, he's a man who has seen and done it all. "He just wants everyone to be happy." Subscribe to our newsletter for the latest news from the Irish Mirror direct to your inbox: Sign up here.
