On anniversary of liberation of southern Lebanon... banner of martyred leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah will remain raised until end of occupation
Beirut - (Saba): Twenty-five years after the victory of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, led by Hezbollah, achieved on May 25, 2000, the heroic deeds of the resistance heroes in the Gaza Strip are evident, confirming that the resistance project, which this victory created, continues. The next liberation will be in Palestine, and the banner of the martyred leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah will remain raised on the shoulders of the resistance fighters until the end of the Zionist occupation and the planting of the banners of victory in occupied Palestine, from the sea to the river. Yesterday, the Lebanese celebrated the 25th anniversary of the great historic victory of liberating the southern lands and cleansing them of the filth of the Zionist enemy, which occupied them in 1978. On the anniversary of the victory of the resistance in Lebanon, the defeat of the Zionist entity, and its humiliating flight from the land of the resistant south, it can be said that the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon has opened a new dawn with its victory. This victory marked a pivotal and important milestone in the history of the Palestinian cause, inspiring and motivating the resistance to move forward in confronting the Zionist enemy. The blood of martyrs and martyrs, shed on Lebanese soil to achieve the victory of May 25, returns today as a beacon for Palestinian resistance fighters, armed to the teeth in the face of the enemy army, armed with the latest weapons and killing machines. This means that Hezbollah, which offered blood, spirit, and leaders during the Flood March, has become, with its victory, an inspiration to Palestinian resistance fighters who have embraced the message of the Lebanese resistance's victory and realized that they are facing an occupier that pays no attention to anyone except those who believe in resistance and understand the culture of dignity and defiance. The legendary battles of steadfastness in the Gaza Strip brought to mind the deterrent equation imposed by the Lebanese resistance during that victory. This victory provided organic support for the Palestinian resistance movement, enabling it today to persevere, confront, and achieve victories against the Zionist enemy army, after inflicting defeat after defeat in the "Al-Aqsa Flood" battle, which has been ongoing for more than 19 months. On this anniversary, the Political Bureau of Ansar Allah affirmed that the victory of the Lebanese Islamic Resistance on May 25, 2000, represented a significant strategic shift in the context of the Arab and Islamic struggle against the Zionist enemy. In a statement marking the 25th anniversary of Resistance and Liberation, it expressed its warmest congratulations and blessings to the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, and the Lebanese people. The statement noted that the 25th anniversary of the Resistance and Liberation Day culminated in the humiliating defeat of the Zionist enemy and its expulsion from southern Lebanon. It indicated that, with the victory of the mujahideen in Hezbollah, the Arab and Islamic nation regained confidence in itself, its people, and its own capabilities. Ansar Allah's politician explained that Hezbollah's victory over the enemy in 2006 drew the lines of new equations and rules of engagement with the enemy entity. The statement renewed the pledge of loyalty to Hezbollah and the resistance, following in the footsteps of the martyred leaders, foremost among them the martyr of Islam and humanity, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah (may God be pleased with him). The Ansar Allah Political Bureau affirmed solidarity with Lebanon and the Islamic Resistance, condemning the ongoing Zionist violations and attacks against Lebanese territory and sovereignty. It called on all Lebanese parties to learn from the lessons of history, which confirmed that Lebanon's strength was and will remain in its honorable resistance and its weapons, which constitute a deterrent balance against the Zionist enemy. On the occasion of the Resistance and Liberation Day, the culmination of a resistance campaign that humiliated the Zionist enemy and shattered its prestige, Palestinian factions extended their sincere congratulations to the Lebanese people on the occasion of Resistance and Liberation Day. This day marks the day the Zionist enemy's army was defeated in 2000, dragging its tails of disappointment and defeat from most of the Lebanese territories in southern Lebanon. In this regard, Hamas spokesman Jihad Taha expressed his "most sincere congratulations and blessings to our brothers in Lebanon, the government, the people, and the resistance, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the withdrawal of the Zionist occupation from southern Lebanon," describing it as "a major national occasion, a pivotal moment in the history of resistance and liberation in the region." Taha affirmed Hamas's "full solidarity with Lebanon in the face of repeated Zionist attacks," saying, "With the ongoing Zionist aggression against Lebanese territory, we declare our solidarity and full support for our brothers in Lebanon in the face of these repeated Zionist attacks and daily violations targeting Lebanese areas." He pointed out the movement's "keenness to strengthen and forge the best relations with our brothers in Lebanon at all levels," adding, "We adhere to the deep relationship that unites the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples in the face of all the challenges lurking on both fronts." He called for "a Palestinian vision and a Lebanese-Palestinian strategy through which all issues related to the Lebanese and Palestinian arenas can be addressed." For its part, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement congratulated the Lebanese people and the brothers in the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Resistance and Liberation Day. In a statement, the movement stated that "this great achievement would not have been possible without the steadfastness and great sacrifices made by the Lebanese people and the resistance forces, foremost among them the brothers in Hezbollah." It expressed its "full confidence that resistance is the only way to preserve dignity, protect the homeland, and defeat the occupation." The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, for its part, extended its "warmest congratulations and blessings to the brotherly Lebanese people and to the resistance forces, foremost among them Hezbollah, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Resistance and Liberation Day." In a statement, it stated that "this glorious day marks a turning point in the history of the Arab-Zionist conflict and proves that resistance is the most effective and efficient way to defeat the occupation and regain rights." It commemorated "the souls of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the homeland." Whatsapp Telegram Email Print

Hezbollah Secretary-General: "We will not relinquish single grain of soil"
Beirut – Saba: Hezbollah Secretary-General, His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem, affirmed that they will not relinquish a single grain of soil from the bountiful south of Lebanon. He emphasized that "the continued Israeli occupation of any inch of our land and homeland will not be accepted." In a speech addressed to the people of the south on Thursday regarding the upcoming municipal and elective elections set for next Saturday, he stated that "massive participation in the municipal and elective elections is part of the reconstruction process, which we will oversee alongside the elected municipalities and the Lebanese state, which must bear its responsibilities." He added, "The liberation of the south's land, its reconstruction, and the rebuilding of all that has been destroyed in Lebanon are inseparable from honoring the blood of the martyrs, foremost among them the Master of the Nation's Martyrs, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, as well as the wounded and the prisoners whom we will work to bring back." Sheikh Qassem further noted that "this year's municipal and elective elections come as a challenge of resilience, steadfastness, and commitment to the land—rebuilding it with its people, orchards, houses, and all elements of life." He stressed that "all those betting on the Israeli aggression are awaiting the results." Addressing the people of the south, he said, "You have made the greatest sacrifices and set an example of legendary resilience in the face of Israeli aggression over decades, most recently in supporting the Flood of Gaza and the Battle of the Valiant, and beyond. You have proven that you are people of dignity, sovereignty, and the liberation of the land." He praised their efforts in "rebuilding the south after the liberation in 2000 and again following the July 2006 aggression. Now, you have preceded the state and its officials in returning to your land, defying dangers and making sacrifices to reclaim your land and homeland with steadfastness, courage, and reliance on God Almighty." Sheikh Naim Qassim added, "We are not addressing you to secure victory in the elections, for you are already victorious, God willing—through your unity, rallying around the Amal Movement and Hezbollah, your support for the Development and Loyalty lists, and your backing of the resistance. Indeed, you *are* the resistance. We address you to intensify your presence and participation in the elections, so that the victory may be resounding." What have investigations revealed about rockets fired at Israel?
by Naharnet Newsdesk 24 March 2025, 14:28 While no party has claimed responsibility for the rockets that were fired at Israel on Saturday, the Lebanese Army has arrested two Syrians in the South and questioned them as witnesses, security sources said. 'The estimations indicate that a 'suspicious side' was behind the rocket attack, which has only served the Israeli interest,' the sources told al-Joumhouria newspaper. 'The attack's perpetrators did not only use primitive launchpads, but also placed near them a Hezbollah flag and a picture of former Hezbollah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, which easily unveiled the objectives and intentions,' the sources said. 'The Israeli side immediately exploited the incident to wage intensive airstrikes on areas north of the Litani, in the South and the Bekaa, based on a pre-prepared bank of targets, which confirms that it was the main and only beneficiary from the parentless rockets,' the sources added. A military source later told AFP the army detained two Syrians who were "working as guards at a farm near the rocket-launching site." The Syrians reported seeing a car with several men who set up the launchers and fired the rockets before leaving, the source said.

Is the Problem the Resistance or the Bet on America?
• At a pivotal moment in the Al-Aqsa Flood War (following the assassination of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, whom the occupying entity's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, described as 'the axis of the Axis of Resistance' and whose elimination, he claimed, 'paved the way for the fall of the Assad regime and the decline of Hezbollah's power and influence in Lebanon'), Lebanese, Arab, and Turkish thinkers, each in their own spheres of influence and intellectual circles, engaged in deep analysis. Notably absent from this discourse were Lebanon's 'Change MPs' and the remnants of the Syrian opposition. However, among these thinkers were figures who had entered Lebanon's new government and individuals highly regarded by Qatari and Turkish circles due to their past connections with the former Syrian regime. These thinkers formulated a theory arguing that Hezbollah and the Syrian regime found themselves trapped between their ideological commitments and national identities. Their adherence to these ideological principles imposed constraints that prevented them from fully leveraging their surplus power in the al-Aqsa Flood War, leading to an all-out war. Given the nature of the war's outbreak, they had no choice but to act in accordance with their ideological considerations to avoid a form of moral suicide. This led them to a conclusion: both in Lebanon and Syria, an opportunity had emerged, one that should not be squandered. • This opportunity, they proposed, involved creating a third political space: one between Israel and the resistance in Lebanon, and another between Israel, the United States, Iran, and the resistance in Syria. The idea was that the blow sustained by the resistance in Lebanon could be leveraged to push Hezbollah toward accepting an adjustment in the implementation of UN Resolution 1701. This adjustment would entail Hezbollah withdrawing south of the Litani River in favour of the Lebanese Army before the occupying entity itself withdraws beyond the Blue Line and ceases its violations of Lebanese airspace, i.e., what Resolution 1701 defines as a 'complete cessation of hostilities'. In parallel, the occupying army's failure to make significant territorial advances in Lebanon, thus preventing it from claiming an outright victory, could be used as leverage in Washington to convince Israel not to exploit Hezbollah's withdrawal as an opportunity for further incursions. Instead, Israel would be urged to reciprocate by accelerating its withdrawal and ending hostilities, placing this step under the banner of supporting a Lebanese state led by pro-American figures under direct Saudi sponsorship. This would create a third political entity in Lebanon, neither resistance nor occupation, but a 'state' aligned with Washington. This state, in turn, could demand further concessions from the resistance, starting with placing the decision to use weapons exclusively in state hands. In return, Israel would be pressed to withdraw to the armistice line, thus setting the stage for a gradual push toward disarming the resistance, forcing it into a dilemma where it must choose between compliance and isolation. In effect, Israel would achieve what it could not accomplish militarily, while the resistance would be told that, by retreating in favor of the state, Lebanon had gained what it could never have secured through direct confrontation. • A parallel scheme was envisioned for Syria by Arab thinkers close to Turkey and Qatar, as well as by Turkish strategists and Al Jazeera figures. They theorised that a third space could be constructed between the U.S.-Israel axis and Iran-resistance forces, with Turkey and Qatar playing the role of intermediaries. This would capitalise on the setbacks of war, Iran and the resistance's preoccupation with it, Russia's distraction in Ukraine, the devastating impact of U.S. sanctions on the Syrian people, military, and state, as well as the cumulative damage caused by Israeli airstrikes on Syria's military infrastructure and Iranian supply lines. The plan envisioned a carefully orchestrated intelligence operation that would ultimately produce a new Syrian regime, aligned with Washington, capable of expelling Iran and the resistance from Syria, severing their supply routes, and weakening Russian influence. This would grant Israel a strategic victory it could never achieve on its own while delivering a major geopolitical prize to Washington. In exchange, Israel would refrain from its security meddling in Syria, and the U.S. would lift sanctions on Damascus and abandon the project of Kurdish autonomy in northeastern Syria. • Over the past hundred days, this theory has been tested. The Lebanese initiative gained more traction, successfully securing the presidency for a prominent national figure whose name had been at the top of the list for the post and who required the resistance's approval, which he ultimately obtained. Similarly, a distinguished individual was selected for the premiership, and the resistance adhered to the outlined conditions, granting the initiative its chance to unfold. However, in Syria, the plan faced a stark reality: the only viable military force capable of challenging the government was Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham – formerly Jabhat al-Nusra. Despite this complication, ultimately bypassed, the broader scheme proceeded as designed, leading to the fall of the Syrian government and the establishment of a new regime under Turkish and Qatari auspices. Meanwhile, Lebanon held presidential elections, a prime minister was appointed, and a government was formed under direct Saudi sponsorship, all in line with the so-called 'opportunity'. • The outcomes of both experiments in Lebanon and Syria highlight a broader American strategy. This approach coincided with the transition between U.S. presidential administrations, culminating in Donald Trump's ascent to power and the emergence of a U.S.-Russian understanding to carve out independent spheres of influence with Turkey and Saudi Arabia. At the same time, Israel found itself grappling with post-war vulnerabilities, including a fracturing public opinion that no longer bought into government narratives of victory. This weakness was further underscored by the refusal of displaced settlers to return, and by Israel's inability to contemplate a Palestinian state as a condition for normalising ties with Saudi Arabia, given the dominance of the settler movement and its messianic vision of the West Bank. As a result, a shifting American position began to take shape, one that aligned with Israel's need for internal cohesion and its reliance on brute force. This was reflected in the growing Israeli aggression on both the Lebanese and Syrian fronts, backed by Washington. Most recently, this approach manifested in a U.S. push to bundle Lebanon's occupied border areas into broader negotiations over unresolved territorial disputes, fully embracing Israel's strategic outlook. Meanwhile, on the Syrian front, American-backed Israeli incursions intensified further, linking any sanctions relief for Syria, or any economic recovery initiatives for Lebanon, to Israel's satisfaction. • In the end, the resistance in Lebanon retreated, paving the way for a state openly aligned with Washington under direct Saudi sponsorship. Was the bet on America justified? Has the land been liberated? Will it ever be, as many once believed, and some still do? In Syria, the government collapsed, replaced by one under Turkish and Qatari patronage. But has this transition brought security and stability? Has Israeli encroachment ceased? Has Syria reclaimed its territorial integrity, or have federalism and sectarian militias become the new reality? Has the country edged closer to internal strife, from the coast to the heartland, all while U.S. sanctions remain firmly in place?
