SAAS: Preparing students for college, life, and a changing world
Seattle Academy (SAAS) prepares students to thrive in a changing world. On our vibrant Capitol Hill campus, we foster an entrepreneurial mindset, curiosity and creativity that translate to innovative solutions, and a supportive environment that encourages students to stretch and take risks. These values come to life across five pillars—Academics, Arts, Athletics, Outdoor & Travel, and Civic Engagement—for students in grades 6-12. With over 250 courses and a unique trimester schedule, students have expansive opportunities to explore interests and deep dive into their passions. Whether they're taking English or Performance Psychology, Honors Biology or AI & Ethics, our curriculum encourages students to think critically and apply their knowledge across different contexts. Our Culture of Performance challenges students to demonstrate their knowledge and creativity in front of an audience. They develop the confidence to navigate change and ambiguity as they present in classrooms and at academic conferences, perform on stage through our extensive arts program, compete and collaborate on 70+ athletic teams, take on significant student-leadership roles, and more. SAAS students represent a wide range of educational, ethnic, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds, and learning styles. A dedicated team of advisors, counselors, and learning support specialists, a student-to-faculty ratio of 7:1, and over 80 student clubs and affinity groups strengthen our community. As a result of our approach, 100% of SAAS graduates typically gain college admission. These colleges include the nation's and world's most selective institutions, but more importantly, reflect our students' diverse talents and interests. Our team of six full-time college advisors demystify the process for families and support students through individualized coaching. Founded in 1983, SAAS is accredited by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS).
