Shekhar Suman's advice to Diljit Dosanjh amid Sardaar Ji 3 row: 'Be gracious and say sorry'
Actor Shekhar Suman has weighed in on the recent controversy surrounding Diljit Dosanjh casting Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3. Shekhar stressed the need for heightened caution when it comes to cultural or professional collaborations with Pakistan, especially in the wake of the recent Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 Indian citizens. (Also read: Neeru Bajwa unfollows Diljit Dosanjh and Hania Aamir, deletes Sardaar Ji 3 trailer from her Instagram page amid row) Shekhar Suman commented on the controversy regarding Diljit Dosanjh's casting choice in Sardaar Ji 3, advocating for sensitivity in collaborations with Pakistan. Shekhar, in an interview with Hindustan Times, said, 'I am not very acquainted with what has happened. All I know is that Diljit has acted with a Pakistani actor, and his stand is that, at the time, the Pahalgam incident had not happened.' However, he firmly stated that the present moment demands a careful and responsible approach. 'Right now, we need to be very cautious about what we are doing and saying, especially when it comes to Pakistan, because of what they have done. We need to be extra careful about how we tread.' He stressed the importance of aligning with national sentiment and asked Diljit to apologise even if things have happened unwittingly. 'If you've done something wrong, even unknowingly, you can still be gracious enough to say, 'Look, I'm sorry, I wasn't aware, and it won't happen in the future.' We all should take a cue from that,' the actor said. Shekhar also addressed the broader issue of cultural and professional engagement with Pakistani talent, pointing out that many Pakistani artists have been openly critical of India. 'All those Pakistani actors have been bad-mouthing us, so it's better to refrain from acting with them or having any sort of association—at least until things are sorted out bilaterally, which I believe won't happen as long as Kashmir remains a bone of contention.' On the subject of Sardaar Ji 3 not being released in India, Shekhar praised the decision as a respectful and patriotic gesture. 'It is a beautiful stand. It tantamounts to an apology, and that is a very patriotic stand—that the film would not be releasing here. That is good enough. That is saying, 'I abide by your emotions and I am with you.'' Shekhar Suman's current projects Shekhar Suman is currently playing renowned poet Sahir Ludhianvi in the play Ek Mulaqat, directed by Saif Hyder Hasan. The play revolves around the unrequited love between Sahir and Amrita Pritam. It is currently being presented in Mumbai and will soon have shows in Delhi. ‘Luxury feels like jail': Adhyayan Suman opens up about not owning home at 37
Actor and singer Adhyayan Suman, son of veteran actor Shekhar Suman, rose to fame with the 2009 film Raaz – The Mystery Continues. Despite the promising start, many of his subsequent films failed to make an impact at the box office. In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Adhyayan opened up about the challenges he has faced in the industry, calling himself a 'reverse case of nepotism' and expressing disappointment at not owning a house at the age of 37. (Also Read: Kangana Ranaut's ex-boyfriend Adhyayan Suman supports her after slap incident: 'It should not have happened') He spoke candidly about not getting work despite being the son of a well-known Bollywood actor and said, "I can say I am the best example of nepotism, jisko kaam nahi mila nepotism ki wajah se, or I can prove that. And you know, I feel nepotism is a very futile debate, and I think it became a sort of fashion conversation. Luxury feels like jail at one point in your life, no matter how many cars that your father gives you, or the house or the penthouses that you live in or the vacations that you go to, people like me with a conscience to do something in life are miserable.' He further spoke about not having a home of his own and added, 'Because what you do beyond the point, I mean, you've owned the car, you've owned the house, it's not yours, it's your father's, it's his hard work, you've enjoyed it. But beyond the point, you feel like mera kya hai, at 37, I don't own a home." Adhyayan made his Bollywood debut in 2008 with Haal-e-Dil, directed by Anil Devgan. He gained wider recognition with his second film, Raaz – The Mystery Continues (2009), a supernatural thriller directed by Mohit Suri. His performance in Jashnn (2009) also received praise from critics. Most recently, he appeared in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's web series Heeramandi, which featured an ensemble cast including Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Shekhar Suman, and Fardeen Khan. He will next be seen in the film Madrasi Gang, which he announced in 2021. Produced by S. N. Reddy and written and directed by Ajay Andrews Nuthakki, the film is currently in post-production.

Meet actor who debuted with Rekha, worked with Madhuri Dixit, Dimple Kapadia, had not given any hit, became television star after….,his name is…
Meet actor who debuted with Rekha, worked with Madhuri Dixit, Dimple Kapadia, had not given any hit, became television star after….,his name is… In the glamorous world of Bollywood, everyone comes here with dreams and aspirations of making it big on the screen. However, with the unprecedented nature of this industry, fame is always fleeting. While some days an actor would be all over social media, the next day, they could vanish in thin air and become totally irrelevant. One such example of this is an actor who did his debut with Rekha, collaborated with Dimple Kapadia, Padmini Kolhapure, but still couldn't make a mark with his solo work. The person we are talking about is none other than Shekhar Suman. Shekhar made his debut with Utsav (1984) opposite Rekha, produced by Shashi Kapoor and directed by Girish Karnad. Gaining a lot of eyeballs at the beginning of his career, his movie Utsav became an overnight hit, primarily due to the romantic scenes between Shekhar Suman and Rekha, which spread like wildfire upon release. Following that, Shekhar did a lot of other movies with a host of well-known stars like Madhuri Dixit, Padmini Kolhapure, and Dimple Kapadia. Even after working with all such superstars for more than 35 years, Shekhar Suman has never provided a solo hit movie. None of his movies turned out to be successful and were regarded as flops at the box office. Even though Shekhar Suman got a dream entry in Bollywood, what followed wasn't as promising as we thought it would be. But recently, Shekhar Suman did find redemption with the web series Heeramandi, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. In an interview, while recalling his previous work, Shekhar talks about shooting of low-budget film Manav Hatya with Madhuri Dixit, mentioning how he used to ride his scooter to pick her up for shoots and drop her back home. He expressed his disappointment over the payment he was offered for the film and shares, 'Utsav was postponed, and between that and Anubhav, one day I received a call where a director wanted to sign me for a movie called Manav Hatya, where I had the role of a journalist. The director told me, there is hardly any money in this. He was offering me Rs 5000. But I signed Utsav for Rs 25000 and received a signing amount of Rs 10000. But when he gave me Rs 5000, I was very disappointed, and he said that there is no big heroine too. He informed me that there is a new heroine by the name of Madhuri Dixit. I requested him to introduce me to her, and then he asked me if I would do it, so I agreed to do the film.' Shekhar Suman's journey hasn't been a smooth ride, experiencing both professional highs and lows, mirrored by the profound personal loss of his 11-year-old son to a heart condition in April 1995. While Bollywood stardom remained somewhat elusive, television became his forte, with popular shows like Dekha Bhai Dekh and Movers and Shakers bringing him significant recognition. Now, Shekhar is aiming for a career resurgence with his role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's web series, Heeramandi , which is currently garnering public attention. In spite of all the hurdles, Shekhar Suman is a very active figure in the film industry today and is successful and respected in every sphere of life.
