Two gang-rape suspects killed
Two men suspected in the gang rape of a 13-year-old girl were killed during a police encounter in Manga Mandi. According to police sources, the Crime Control Department (CCD) received information about the whereabouts of the suspects. Inspector Shabbir and his team conducted a raid in Manga Mandi to arrest them. Upon seeing the police, the suspects opened fire. During the ensuing gunfight, the two suspects identified as Shoaib and Zubair were killed allegedly by gunfire from their accomplices, the police sources said. The bodies of both suspects were shifted to a morgue for post-mortem examination. During the exchange of fire, Head Constable Inamdaar was shot in the chest by the suspects. However, he escaped serious injury due to his bulletproof vest. The gang-rape victim is under treatment in a hospital. A First Information Report (FIR) regarding the assault had been registered at the Manga Mandi police station. In another development, Race Course Women Police arrested two suspects, identified as Fazal and Abdullah, for allegedly assaulting a minor girl in Rajgarh. The case had bene registered at the Race Course Women Police Station. As per the complaint, the suspects, who are relatives of the victim, had allegedly taken advantage of the absence of her family to molest her several times. They reportedly threatened to kill the victim if she disclosed the assaults. Civil Lines Superintendent of Police Chaudhry Asar Ali said the arrested suspects had been handed over to the anti-gender-based crime cell for investigation.

Shoaib Ibrahim , who has been a part of shows like Sasural Simar Ka, Ajooni, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, is very particular about his fitness and diet. The actor often gives fans a peek into his life through his vlogs. In a recent family vlog on YouTube, Shoaib offered a glimpse of his current diet, revealing that he's been enjoying a wholesome mix of uttapam, sambar, and omelette, a combination that's as tasty as it is healthy. Shoaib shared in the vlog, "Actually, for the past few days, since I came back from the hospital (he was at the hospital during Dipika's hospitalisation). I was having chai paratha or omelette paratha. But sab bol rahe the weak hogaye ho (everyone was saying that I looked weak). After a month, I decided to stop this habit and return to my diet. So, now I am eating uttapam, sambar, omelette…" He continued, "I got tired of having omelette every day, but since I'm not going to the gym right now, I still need protein from food. I get my protein from an omelette made with 3-4 egg whites, so today I decided to have it with sambar and uttapam." Shoaib's wife and actress Dipika joined him in the video and she was seen humorously pulling his leg for his weird food combinations. Dipika, who was hospitalized for stage 2 liver cancer surgery, was seen making fun of her husband for having Uttapam with omelette and sambar. She said, "Till today, I was the one being pulled up for enjoying bizarre combinations…now it is him. Uttapam with omelette and sambar…I have never heard of this combination, let alone eat it…and he is relishing it in front of me." Shoaib recently made Dipika's birthday a special one by gifting her jewellery like earrings, chain with pendant, bracelet and a ring. Later, they even enjoyed a family dinner. On the work front, Shoaib Ibrahim was last seen in the reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 11, while his last fiction TV roles included Ajooni (2022) and Ishq Mein Marjawan (2018-2019). He also had a Bollywood debut with Battalion 609 in 2019.

Cabinet appoints Shoaib as SLIC CEO for another 3 years
KARACHI: Shoaib Javed Hussain has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan (SLIC), for further 3 years effective August 6, 2025. The Federal Cabinet, on the recommendation of the Ministry of Commerce, has appointed Shoaib as the CEO of SLIC. Previously, he took charge of CEO in March 2021. The corporation has undergone a significant transformation, marked by innovation and significant growth, since Hussain took charge in March 2021. In just four years, SLIC has grown its market share, recording an extraordinary 300 percent increase in profit, a 181 percent surge in revenue growth, and a 100 percent increase in profit allocated to policyholders.
