Photo: AFP The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has drafted the initial schedule and shared it with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The T20I series will begin on July 20, with the second and third matches scheduled for July 22 and 24, respectively. All three matches are set to be hosted at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. Pakistan's tour of Bangladesh is not part of the Future Tours Program (FTP). This series was agreed upon during discussions between senior officials of the PCB and BCB on the sidelines of the ICC Champions Trophy, which is scheduled to be hosted by Pakistan. After the conclusion of the T20 series against Bangladesh, the Pakistan team will depart for the West Indies. There, they will face the Caribbean side in a three-match T20I series beginning on July 31 in the United States. This will be followed by a One Day International (ODI) series against the West Indies as well. Meanwhile, the third T20I between Pakistan and Bangladesh will be played on Sunday at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Shoriful Islam injured Bangladesh fast bowler Shoriful Islam has been ruled out of the third and final T20I against Pakistan, scheduled for Sunday at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium, after suffering a groin injury. In his absence, pacer Khaled Ahmed is likely to be included in the playing XI for the third match. Additionally, Najmul Hossain Shanto may also be given a chance in the Bangladesh lineup. Pakistan holds an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match T20I series, having thoroughly outclassed the visitors in both earlier games. Meanwhile, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 37 runs in the first T20I here at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on May 28. Chasing a target of 202, the Bangladeshi side was bowled out for 164 in 19.2 overs. The second T20I also saw a dominant Pakistani performance. Batting first, the hosts posted 201/6 in their allotted 20 overs. In response, Bangladesh was bundled out for 144 in 19 overs. Pakistan delivered a clinical performance to defeat Bangladesh by 57 runs in the second T20I, securing an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Meanwhile, Pakistan are expected to make one change to their playing XI for the third and final T20I against Bangladesh, scheduled for Sunday at the Gaddafi Stadium. Pacer Haris Rauf is likely to be rested due to his poor form, with either Abbas Afridi or Naseem Shah set to replace him in the lineup. Rauf has struggled in the ongoing series, claiming just one wicket while conceding 59 runs in five overs at an economy rate of 11.80. Despite Saim Ayub's disappointing form — scoring a duck in the first T20I and four runs in the second — the opening pair of Saim and Sahibzada Farhan is expected to be retained. In the second T20I, the hosts delivered a dominant performance, defeating Bangladesh by 57 runs. After electing to bat, Pakistan posted a commanding 201/6 in 20 overs. Despite an early setback with the dismissal of Saim Ayub, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris (41 off 25) and Sahibzada Farhan (74 off 41) stitched together a blistering 103-run stand for the second wicket. Farhan's knock featured four boundaries and six towering sixes. Following their departure, captain Salman Ali Agha (19 off 12) and Hasan Nawaz added 45 runs for the fourth wicket, maintaining the tempo. Hasan finished unbeaten on 51 off 26 balls, striking two fours and three sixes. In response, Bangladesh got off to a flying start, reaching 38/0 in just three overs with Tanzid Hasan scoring a quickfire 33. However, a middle-order collapse, sparked by Haris Rauf and Faheem Ashraf, reduced them to 77/7 by the 10th over. Tanzim Hasan Sakib showed some resistance with a valiant 50 off 31 deliveries, including five sixes, but received little support from the other end. Bangladesh were eventually bowled out for 144 in 19 overs. Pakistan's bowling effort was well-rounded, with Abrar Ahmed leading the way with figures of 3/19 in four overs. Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, Faheem Ashraf, Shadab Khan, Khushdil Shah and Saim Ayub each claimed a wicket to complete a dominant team performance.

Pakistan thumps Bangladesh by 57 runs to clinch T20 series

LAHORE, Pakistan (AP) — Pakistan clinched the Twenty20 series against Bangladesh after winning the second match by a comfortable 57 runs on Friday. The Pakistan top order set up a 201 total for the second straight time and seven of the eight bowlers took wickets to dismiss Bangladesh for 144 in 19 overs. Pakistan won the first match by 37 runs on Wednesday and will look for a clean sweep in the final game at the same Lahore venue on Sunday. Bangladesh slips after fiery start Tanzid Hasan scored all 32 runs in the first two overs of the chase but was out for 33 to a stunning reflex catch at short fine leg by Abrar Ahmed. By the end of the powerplay, Bangladesh was 54-3 and reeling from some splendid catches. Abrar trapped Towhid Hridoy and Jaker Ali leg before wicket off successive sharp googlies. At the halfway mark, Bangladesh was 78-7 and the inevitable was delayed only by No. 9 batter Tanzim Hasan Sakib, whose 50 off 31 was his maiden T20 half-century. He was the last man out as fast bowler Shoriful Islam couldn't bat after pulling up with a groin injury in his first over. Farhan returns with a bang Sahibzada Farhan starred with the bat in only his 10th T20 since his debut six years ago. He smashed 74 off 41 balls. Farhan lost the selectors' favor after four consecutive single-digit scores against Australia last year in the T20 series. But he forced his way back by topping the batting chart in the recent Pakistan Super League. He got an opportunity after first-choice opener Fakhar Zaman was rested for Friday's game. Luck favored Farhan when he was dropped off the third ball of the match before he scored. Saim Ayub was run out in the second over after Farhan refused the third run. Farhan then added 103 runs off 54 balls with Mohammad Haris (41) as both batted with a new licence to be aggressive under new coach Mike Hesson. Farhan got a second life after his half- century when Mehidy Hasan Miraz could not hold onto a sharp catch in the covers. Haris was caught at backward point in the 11th over, and Farhan was caught in the next over by Bangladesh captain Litton Das behind the stumps. Pakistan's middle order didn't hold back, and its latest T20 batting sensation, Hasan Nawaz, blistered 51 off 25 balls with three sixes and two fours. But Pakistan scored only 40 runs in the final five overs with an excellent comeback by fast bowler Hasan Mahmud, 2-47. ___ AP cricket:

Hasan Ali shines as Pakistan beat Bangladesh in 1st T20I

Pakistan cricket team. (PIC - X) New Delhi: In a stunning clash between Pakistan and Bangladesh Salman Ali Agha-led side get a 37-run victory over Bangladesh in Lahore. Hasan Ali picked up career-best figures of 5 for 30 on his T20I return in a year and Shadab Khan came up with an impressive all-round show as Pakistan coasted past Bangladesh in the series opener at Lahore. Following captain Salman Agha, top-scorer for Pakistan with 56 off 34 balls, and Shadab, who made 48 off 25 balls, had taken Pakistan to 201, Hasan spearheaded their successful defence with a five-wicket haul. Following the removal of the Bangladeshi openers with the new ball, he came back to send back the threatening Jaker Ali, Tanzim Hasan and Shoriful Islam. Litton Was the highest scorer for Bangladesh with 48 and Jaker contributed 36 from 21 deliveries lower down the order, but it proved insufficient to prevent Pakistan from taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. The sight of Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub going out to open for Pakistan would have been comforting for their fans. But both openers were in the dug-out within two overs. Ayub, returning for Pakistan after his ankle injury in South Africa last year, fell first ball. He shut the face of his bat a bit too early, providing a return catch to Mahedi Hasan. Shoriful Islam then dismissed Fakhar next over, shovelling an inswinger back into his pads. Shoriful became the fourth Bangladesh bowler to scalp 50 wickets in T20Is. Mohammad Haris, though, grounded Shoriful with three successive boundaries as the left-arm pacer conceded 16 in the fourth over. Salman slapped three fours off Mahedi in the following over, as well, to assist Pakistan to reach fifty in the powerplay. Haris, however, fell in the seventh over for 31 from 18 deliveries.

Waseem leads UAE to historic win over Bangladesh to level T20 series

A small piece of cricket history was made on Monday night when the UAE defeated Bangladesh for the first time ever in a T20 international. Having been set a daunting target of 206 in Sharjah, the UAE held their nerve in the final over to pull off the biggest chase ever by an associate nation against a full member team in T20Is. The previous highest was 191 by Afghanistan against Zimbabwe in 2015. It was also the first ever successful chase of a 200-plus target in the UAE in T20Is and tied the series up at 1-1, with the decider to come on Wednesday. Muhammad Waseem led from the front with a brilliant 42-ball 82 but it was Haider Ali, playing in only his second match for the UAE and batting for the first time, who took them over the line in a dramatic finish. The left arm spinner arrived at the crease at number nine to smash 15 off six deliveries. That included a six to clinch victory for his side by eight wickets with a ball to spare. Haider smashed seamer Shoriful Islam over backward point for the maximum in the second ball he faced before an eventful overthrow that fetched him five more runs in the next. Haider played back a delivery towards the bowler and scurried for a single. Shoriful had enough time to aim at the stumps from close range but missed completely with no one backing up, conceding 11 runs from just two deliveries. That set the tone with 12 runs required from Tanzim Hasan's final over. Dhruv Parishar whacked a full toss for six but was out next ball, leaving Haider to take his team over the line. Captain Muhammad Waseem reviews UAE's stunning win over Bangladesh in the 2nd T20I at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium — UAE Cricket Official (@EmiratesCricket) May 20, 2025 'We needed 29 to win from the last 11 balls which meant we had to score virtually off every ball. It was a big challenge and for me an opportunity to go out there and get those runs,' Haider told The National. 'I have played a lot of domestic cricket on this ground and I was confident that I can turn this game around for our team. Alhamdulillah, I'm glad I did it. 'I was pretty sure of hitting any short delivery out of the ground and the second ball was exactly what I wanted. True, I put the finishing touch to this game but everyone chipped in with their contributions in this remarkable win.' Waseem and Muhammad Zohaib (38 off 34) shared an opening stand of 107 in 61 balls to set the platform and then the rest of the batters kept that momentum going until the end to complete the UAE's historic win. Waseem was ecstatic with the result and optimistic of replicating the victory in the series decider on Wednesday. 'The win has provided us the confidence that we can do it again and that's what we want to do going into the next game. We want go out there and play positive cricket,' Waseem, who belted nine fours and five sixes, said. Captain COOL! 😎 Muhammad Waseem spearheaded another HISTORIC win for the UAE with a scintillating 82 off 42 balls ( 9 4s, 5 6s) — UAE Cricket Official (@EmiratesCricket) May 19, 2025 'I was giving hope to everyone that we can chase this score because we know the conditions here on this ground. 'We went with a game plan and it worked well for us. We made changes in the batting order as we wanted quick runs at every over of the game. And everyone who came into bat rose to the occasion and contributed with some big hits. 'I'm very happy with the team's performance and my own to win against a Test-playing team. We will go with our strengths for the deciding game and hopefully we can make it 2-1.' The Bangladesh captain Litton Das admitted it was a tough loss to take. He said: 'Any loss is hard, but we still batted well on this wicket. Wicket was pretty good, when they batted, they had the favour of dew. We missed a bit in the fielding and in the middle overs bowling. When you play on this type of ground, which is small and with dew a factor, you have to calculate and plan (as bowlers). 'What Rana did before [his final over], we were expecting more from him. You can have good days and bad days. We will sit and talk and come back.'
