Winner to hold July concert without Song Min-ho

Three-member show to be staged amid ongoing investigation into Song's alternative military service Boy group Winner will be returning to the stage for its first concert in over three years, marking a highly anticipated comeback following the members' discharge from military service. YG Entertainment confirmed Wednesday that the group is planning a July concert, its first since April 2022. However, member Song Min-ho will not be participating in the show due to an ongoing investigation into his military service record. Song, who served as a social service agent, is currently under police investigation for allegedly failing to fulfill his duties during that time, which can be interpreted as a violation of the Military Service Act. 'Despite the circumstances, we decided to move forward with the concert out of respect for the fans who have been waiting for so long. The decision also reflects the members' strong desire to meet them,' said YG Entertainment in Wednesday's announcement. The performance will feature three members — Kang Seung-yoon, Kim Jin-woo and Lee Seung-hoon. YG added that further details about the concert would be announced separately. After debuting in 2014 with studio album "2014 S/S," Winner went on to release a string of hit songs including 'Really Really' and 'Empty.' Notably, Song Min-ho garnered acclaim beyond group activities after finishing as runner-up in Season 4 of Mnet's "Show Me the Money," which aired in 2015, and continued building a solo career with multiple albums. He also became a popular television personality, appearing on shows such as tvN's "New Journey to the West" and MBC's "Home Alone." Song began his alternative military service in March 2023 at a community facility in Mapo-gu, Seoul, and was officially discharged in December 2024. However, allegations soon surfaced suggesting he had not been properly fulfilling his duties, and frequently failed to show up for work. Police then launched an investigation and have since booked Song for suspected violations of the Military Service Act.

Renato Moicano: 'It's very tough' for Michael Chandler to beat anyone in top 15

Renato Moicano: 'It's very tough' for Michael Chandler to beat anyone in top 15 Renato Moicano thinks it's unlikely that his UFC lightweight peer Michael Chandler would beat a top 15 opponent. Show Caption Hide Caption Renato Moicano Responds to Paddy Pimblett's Post-UFC 314 Comments UFC lightweight Renato Moicano talks to MMA Junkie's Mike Bohn about Paddy Pimblett's win at UFC 314, his post-fight comments, what's next and more. MMA Junkie Renato Moicano thinks it will be tough for fellow UFC lightweight Michael Chandler to get a win over a top 15 opponent. Moicano (20-6-1 MMA, 12-6 UFC) wants to make it clear that he has no ill will toward Chandler (23-10 MMA, 2-5 UFC), but as a fighter who typically breaks down fights for his "Show Me the Money" podcast, he simply doesn't see "Iron" as an upper-echelon fighter. "Money" Moicano acknowledges some positive aspects to Chandler's game, but at this point in his career, it will be tough to compete against the best in the lightweight division. "No, to be honest," Moicano told MMA Junkie if Chandler could beat a top 15 opponent now. "It's very tough, you know? So people think I dislike Chandler, I don't dislike Chandler. I respect him. I just don't think he's that good, you know? "He's powerful, he can knock anybody out in the lightweight division, but right now for him, it's going to be very hard to get a dub. He's 2-4 in UFC, three straight losses, and his best win was over Dan Hooker and Tony Ferguson. I don't know. I don't see him getting back." Chandler suffered his third consecutive loss at UFC 314. His opponent, Paddy Pimblett, dominated the fight, leaving the former Bellator champion on the canvas in a bloody mess after a third-round TKO stoppage. After recording a Knockout of the Year contender against Tony Ferguson at UFC 274, Chandler hasn't won a fight. He has since lost by submission to Dustin Poirier, dropped a unanimous decision to Charles Oliveira, and now most recently, a TKO loss to Pimblett. To Chandler's credit, he does bring excitement to the table, which is why he has won bonuses in five of his seven UFC bouts. However, to stay relevant among the best names at 155, wins must be recorded. Moicano believed Chandler only had one path to victory in the fight against Pimblett, and it did not come together for him. Combine his recent performances along with being 38, and Moicano doesn't see much upside for Chandler's career at this point. "I said I think Paddy Pimblett was going to win because Michael Chandler's only chance is the right hand," Moicano said. "If he did not connect it, it's going to be very hard for him. ... Because if you remember, Charles Oliveira did out-wrestle Chandler, and Charles is not a wrestler. He took down Chandler like every single round. I was surprised Chandler tried to wrestle in the first round, was trying takedowns, was trying to control Paddy Pimblett, but he's getting a little bit older, so it's going to be hard for him to keep the same pace, you know?"

Mel Gibson Slams Mayor Bass' Firing of LAFD Chief as 'Pathetic' and 'Despicable'

Mel Gibson unleashed his frustrations with political leaders while standing at a podium in fire-ravaged Altadena on Wednesday. The Oscar-winning multi-hyphenate, who lost his Malibu mansion in the Palisades Fire last month, specifically zeroed in on Gov. Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and criticized the way in which they responded to the catastrophe that decimated thousands of homes and killed 29 people. Specifically, Gibson said, 'One of the most pathetic and despicable things I've seen' happened last week when Bass dismissed L.A. Fire Department Chief Kristin Crowley for her oversight of the response to the blazes. Bass said in firing Crowley that 1,000 firefighters could have been 'on duty on the morning the fires broke out were instead sent home on Chief Crowley's watch.' More from The Hollywood Reporter Gov. Fire Chief Following Deadly Wildfires Gibson has an issue with how that was handled and claims Bass was simply shifting the blame. 'I mean, one of the most pathetic and despicable things I've seen was when Karen Bass, in order to shift the blame and culpability from herself, wiped it on the fire chief and threw her under the bus for speaking the truth about how the department had been defunded and were without resources,' Gibson told a crowd of reporters and residents as seen in videos that surfaced from the event. Gibson joined Randy Economy and Bishop J.C. Mendez at the press conference at which the trio spoke about executing the next steps in fire recovery from the L.A. wildfires. The event, organized by Saving California, also focused on conservative efforts to recall Newsom, a push led by Economy. 'All of my fellow citizens who have lost their homes, they have no recourse, no insurance payouts because the carriers dropped them,' Gibson said. 'Even the carriers realized that California was ill-prepared and had scant resources to deal with the inevitable fires. They knew that. So are we supposed to believe that our elected officials didn't know that? Of course they knew that. Of course.' He then turned his attention back to Bass. 'Mayor Bass tweeted about the levels of danger days before she blew out of town, you know. And we drove around in the [Pacific Coast Highway] and into my neighborhood and various other neighborhoods. Devastating. There I saw the houses of my friends and neighbors reduced the toxic piles of smoldering rubble, much like here in Altadena.' Gibson exited the press conference to applause from residents and other attendees, and he accepted congratulations from those in attendance for speaking out as his SUV drove away. Not long after, a dramatic scene unfolded as Bishop J.C. Mendez was wheeled out on a stretcher. As seen in a video, Mendez was escorted by professionals and police with one social media post claiming that he was suffering from a heat stroke.
