Rioters in Sambhal face the wrath of 'Mahakal': CM Yogi Adityanath

Sambhal, Aug 7 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lashed out at political rivals and historical wrongs, declaring Sambhal a sacred symbol of Hindu faith. CM Yogi took aim at foreign invaders, Congress, and the Samajwadi Party, warning that 'those who sinned against Sambhal will face stern retribution.' CM was in Sambhal on Thursday where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 222 development projects worth Rs 659 crore in Bahjoi. Addressing a public gathering on the occasion, CM Yogi while launching a sharp attack on foreign invaders, unveiled Sambhal's suppressed history. He said the town once boasted 68 pilgrimage sites, 19 sacred wells, and traditional 24- and 84-kos parikrama routes — all desecrated and destroyed by invaders. These holy sites were taken over, and a deliberate attempt was made to erase the truth, he asserted. Calling it a 'malicious conspiracy,' CM Yogi Adityanath vowed to restore all 68 shrines and 19 sacred wells in Sambhal. Citing Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar's revival of Kashi Vishwanath and Somnath temples, he pledged a similar renaissance for Sambhal's heritage. 'True development,' he said, 'lies in preserving legacy while shaping the golden dreams of today and tomorrow.' Emphasizing Sambhal's spiritual significance, CM Yogi said it is a sacred land of both Hari (Vishnu) and Har (Shiva), and foretold in scriptures like the Shrimad Bhagavat, Skanda, and Vishnu Puranas as the birthplace of Lord Kalki in Kaliyug. Hitting out at those who label Hindu traditions as controversial, he said, 'Their background is controversial, so they see our heritage the same way — but this is not up for dispute.' He warned that all such malicious attempts to undermine Sanatan Dharma will be firmly crushed. Referencing the revival of Kashi and Ayodhya, CM Yogi asked, 'If they can be restored, why not Sambhal?' He reaffirmed his government's resolve to rejuvenate Lord Kalki's shrine and Harihar Dham. Taking aim at Congress and SP, he said, 'Congress orchestrated mass killings here, and SP, as its disciple, shielded the murderers. Never forget their sins against Sambhal.' 'They hid the truth of post-independence massacres out of fear of losing their vote bank,' said CM Yogi Adityanath. 'We are not here for vote bank politics- we are here to preserve our heritage. Those who shame India and its values will be taught a lesson their future generations won't forget.' Taking a tough stand against rioters and anarchists, CM Yogi said past governments allowed riots, lawlessness, and exploitation to flourish. 'Girls weren't safe, traders weren't safe. But today, every citizen in UP is secure—except the rioters. Mahakal is delivering justice,' he stated. The Chief Minister emphasized that the evil intentions of those trying to hide the truth of Sambhal will be crushed. 'Those who sinned against Sambhal will face punishment. Those trying to hinder Sambhal's development will pay the price. Those who desecrate the holy sites of Sanatan Dharma will also pay the price', he said. Highlighting his government's achievements, CM Yogi said that over the past eight years, 8.5 lakh jobs have been provided, including the recent police recruitment of 60,200 youth. He slammed previous governments, saying they nurtured one mafia per district, whereas his government is promoting the 'One District, One Product' scheme. He mentioned key welfare initiatives such as housing for the poor, free ration, grants for daughters' weddings, and health services. Highlighting the upcoming festivals, CM Yogi noted that August 9 marks both Raksha Bandhan and Kakori Train Action Memorial Day, followed by Independence Day on August 15 and Shri Krishna Janmashtami on August 16. Echoing PM Modi's call, he urged citizens to hoist the national flag. Praising the resilience of Sambhal's people, he said they faced riots with courage and never bowed down. He assured them that the double-engine government is firmly committed to both heritage preservation and development. CM Yogi said the projects inaugurated today are just a glimpse of what's to come. He highlighted that 222 projects worth ₹659 crore have been launched in Sambhal, covering education, vocational training, drinking water, roads, Anganwadi centres, and infrastructure for composite schools. Yogi calls Sambhal a sacred symbol of Hindu faith, vows to restore its heritage

Lucknow: In his first visit to Sambhal district after violence broke out there over a disputed mosque, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday declared Sambhal "a sacred symbol of Hindu faith". The CM said violence unleashed by foreign invaders was suppressed in history books and accused the invaders of desecrating and destroying Sambhal's Sanatan history — the city is believed to be the birthplace of Kalki, the 10th avatar of Lord Vishnu. Yogi warned that any malicious attempts to undermine Sanatan Dharma would be firmly crushed and told people to never forgive Congress and SP for having sinned against Sambhal. The CM inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 222 development projects worth Rs 659 crore in Sambhal. He claimed that the town once boasted 68 pilgrimage sites, 19 sacred wells, and traditional 24- and 84-kos parikrama routes, all of which were destroyed by invaders. The holy sites were taken over, and a deliberate attempt was made to erase the truth, he said. Referring to this as a "malicious conspiracy," Yogi vowed that all 68 shrines and 19 wells would be restored. "Just like Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar revived Kashi Vishwanath and Somnath temples, we will initiate a similar renaissance for Sambhal's heritage. True development lies in preserving legacy while shaping the golden dreams of today and tomorrow," he said. The projects launched on Thursday, he said, covered education, vocational training, drinking water, roads, Anganwadi centres, and infrastructure for composite schools. Yogi highlighted Sambhal's spiritual significance, calling it the sacred land of both Vishnu and Shiva, which found mention in scriptures like the Shrimad Bhagavat, Skanda, and Vishnu Puranas as the birthplace of Lord Kalki in Kaliyug. Attacking those who label Hindu traditions as controversial, the CM said that it was their own background that was controversial, and therefore they viewed heritage with the same lens. He threatened that any attempt to undermine Sanatan Dharma would be "firmly crushed" and those who desecrate Sanatan Dharma's holy sites would "pay the price." He announced that if Varanasi and Ayodhya could be revived, Sambhal too would be restored to its original form, and his govt would rejuvenate Lord Kalki's shrine and Harihar Dham. "Congress orchestrated mass killings here, and SP, as its disciple, shielded the murderers. Never forget their sins against Sambhal. They hid the truth of post-independence massacres out of fear of losing their vote bank. We are not here for vote bank politics; we are here to preserve our heritage. Those who shame India and its values will be taught a lesson their future generations won't forget," the CM said. Highlighting his govt's achievements over the past eight years, the CM said that 8.5 lakh jobs were provided, including the recent police recruitment of 60,200 persons. He hit out against previous govts, accusing them of nurturing one mafia per district, whereas his govt was promoting the 'One District, One Product' scheme and implementing welfare initiatives such as housing for the poor, free ration, grants for weddings, and health services. During the day, the CM also inspected archaeological artefacts unearthed in Sambhal and planted saplings to promote environmental awareness. He also launched the 'Sambhal Samvad' app and distributed cheques, house keys, and certificates to beneficiaries of various govt schemes. Mentioning the upcoming Independence Day celebrations, the CM asked people to respond to PM Narendra Modi's call and hoist the national flag. ‘Those who sinned against Sambhal will face punishment': Yogi targets Congress, SP

Seers' teaching can prevent Kairana-like communal incidents: Yogi

1 2 3 Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said that saints have always guided society towards unity and harmony — a path that could have prevented Kairana and Kandhla-like communal incidents in Uttar Pradesh. He was addressing a congregation of seers on the death anniversary of Sant Swami Gyan Bhikshuk Das Ji Maharaj in Muzaffarnagar. The CM said no other faith could boast of a 5,000-year-old legacy other than Sanatan Dharma and called seers the true custodians of a timeless heritage. He said PM Narendra Modi has fulfilled the vision of seers by ensuring equal rights for all citizens. "The seers have shown us a path of unity, a way to unite people. It's a path which gives us a guarantee of security, which highlights the way of our development and also inspires us to fight in challenging situations. Swami Gyan Bhikshuk Das Ji Maharaj was a divine soul who dedicated his life to spreading these teachings of Satguru Ravidas Ji Maharaj," the CM said. Yogi said when India was under medieval rule, Satguru Ravidas Ji Maharaj emerged in Sear Govardhan, Kashi, as a beacon of hope. He worked to awaken society against superstition and other social evils, while focusing on the dignity of labour and inner purity. His words 'Man changa to kathauti mein Ganga' continue to inspire people towards spiritual purity and moral clarity. His guru, Sant Ramanand, also spread the message of equality," the CM said. Yogi said PM Modi has fulfilled Ravidas' vision of equality and dignity through a scheme like Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, under which 81 crore people have received free foodgrain since Covid till now. "Before 2014, roads to Sant Ravidas' birthplace Sear Govardhan were single-lane. We made them four-lane roads. A grand ashram, a magnificent statue, and an Anna Kshetra have been built. Land was acquired for a park and statue in the name of Sant Ravidas," the CM said. He described Shuktirtha as a sacred and mythological site, where Shukdev Ji narrated the first Shrimad Bhagavat to King Parikshit 5,000 years ago. Paying tribute to Swami Bhikshukdas Ji Maharaj and Sant Samandas Ji Maharaj, the CM announced that a ghat, wide roads, beautification, parking, and a satsang hall would be developed around the Samandas Ashram to improve facilities for devotees. "When saintly guidance meets a visionary govt, change is inevitable. It is intent that matters," he said, criticising previous govts for failing to honour someone like BR Ambedkar adequately. "It was PM Modi who first commemorated Ambedkar through the establishment of Panchteerths and declared 26 Nov as the Constitution Day. No govt did this between 1949 and 2015," he said.
